From the time I stepped into the showroom I was treated as a person that was serious about purchasing a vehicle. The service was exceptional. Racquel went over the vehicle, insisted I take a test drive and gave me a tour of the facility after I made the purchase. She kept in contact with me a few days after the purchase. However, the thing that made the most impression on me was after I made the purchase, the whole team at Pohanka gathered around me to shake my hand to congratulate me on my purchase and welcoming me to the Pohanka family. That was special. I have already told others of my experience!! More

UPDATE 1/3/11: Unfortunately, our dealer experience has been marred by not having received our tags yet - they never arrived. I had to involve Hyundai Motors and BBB. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We bought a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra SE. The overall experience was great. There was no hard sell of unnecessary add-ons (just a quick once-over), there was no push to buy today, the price offered was even lower than one negotiated over Internet. There was several minor scratches on the car, and those got taken care of immediately - we even had an option of getting another identical car instead. My only advice is, do not use Victor as the finance person. Otherwise, this purchase was painless and pleasant. More
Knew I wanted to purchase a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited for my wife within a week. Used the Hyundai USA web site to get quotes on the car and options I wanted and to have the various dealers bid against e for my wife within a week. I was very up front about what I wanted, the bidding process and when I was going to buy. Told all that the one with the right car at the lowest price gets the sale. Pohanka gave me a price that was a few hundred under all the others (Washington area and 2 dealers from Baltimore). I told the salesman ( Wendell Rogers) That I would be in that next day to buy the car. After that, I was contacted by College Park Hyundai with a little better deal. Since I had already told Pohanka I would buy from them, I kept my word and went there. I was supposed to meet Mr. Rogers at 9am. I was early...he was late. After listening to Mr. Rogers talk about his sales expertise, and his desire to become a premiere salesman who can sell an upcoming high end model of Hyundai, I finally got down to purchasing. Suddenly the price was not what I had negotiated. I was told I gave him the wrong Sonata package. Funny, 8 other dealers who got the same e-mail had no problem. I told him there was no mistake and I expected him to be a man of his word. After numerous "consultations" with the sales manager...he said the best he could do was $350 over the agreed price. I walked out of the dealership and drove that day to College Park Hyundai and purchased a new Sonata for my wife and a used Elantra for my daughter. College Park was able to correct bad info I was given about the Sonata and warranty by Pohanka. Do yourself a favor...don't waste your time with the "Bait and Switch" from Pohanka. More
I am not happy at all with my experience at this dealiership. Their tactics are shady at best. After doing extensive research I came to this dealership to look at two cars. I told them I was happy but I was going to sleep on it one night. The sales manager yells "What the F*** are you doing here then?" I was so stunned at being cursed at I just left with my wife. I don't know about you, but I don't drop $40,000 everyday. Excuse me for taking a rational approach to car buying. The next day we purchased the same two cars from a dealership in Waldorf that did not feel the need to curse out their customes. There are plenty of Hyundai dealerships in NCR, there is no reason to come to this dealership. They have no respect, no class, and got no sale from me. More

I definitely recommend them to anyone when it comes to bein cars from the various Pohanka stores over the years but this was my first new Hyundai. I definitely recommend them to anyone when it comes to being professionals, courteous, and honest. The price was good, they gave me the most for my trade, and I left quickly without much hassle. Pohanka is the way to go for anyone in the the DC area. More
I had a great experience buying a 2011 Sonata at Pohanka. I have to comment especially on the fact that this dealer did not attempt in the least to add on any extras that I wouldn't want. I had been to another the day before, and it added $3,000 worth of useless stuff, including door edge strips, pin stripes (on a car with those lines?), etc., to every 2011 Sonata. I had only a single question about dealer add-ons at Pohanka, and that was from the finance manager, who asked before we did the signatures whether I wanted to buy anything else. I really appreciated the absence of this frequent source of car-buying friction. I can't emphasize this enough: There was no funny business at this dealership. I was in by 5:30 and out before 9 with a new car. A good experience overall. More
