My car buying experience had some slight difficulty, but Jay and Pohanka worked with me to make it as easy as possible. Unfortunately, someone got there just before I arrived and snagged it, so I had to wait for a new car to be delivered about a week later. We handled all the paperwork, financing, and everything up front so that once the car arrived, I literally showed up and got the keys, got a quick tour of the car, and hit the road. Jay was very accommodating and clearly wanted to make the experience as easy as possible for me. I never felt like I was getting the stereotypical "car dealership" treatment from Jay. He was a straight shooter and I appreciated that. I utilized USAA's car buying service to get an amazing price on the car and there was no haggling. Years ago, a previous horrendous experience with another dealership(LUSTINE)"scarred me for life!" For the past 25 years, my husband has to drag me out the door when it comes to buying a car. Mel and Pohanka renewed my faith that, yes, there are kind people on car lots! They're not all devious and deceitful! The only downside that I can think of is the amount of time and paperwork it takes to actually purchase the vehicle--at this point, don't think there's anyway around that for any dealership! We live 160 miles away from Pohanka, but in view of the savings and the quality of the customer service, it was totally worth it to drive the distance, rather than using our local Honda dealer. Our great experience at Pohanka was largely due to our sales consultant, May Levine. After our initial input on the USAA website, Ms. Levine contacted us promptly. We determined that the exact model we wanted was not in stock, and we had to wait a couple of weeks, but that was no problem. Ms Levine kept us regularly updated on the expected arrival date of our new Fit. When it came in, and we showed up at Pohanka, she proved to be personable, knowledgeable, and professional. She helped us feel relaxed and confident. She ensured we were aware of all the features of our car, answered all our questions, then accompanied us for a test drive.
