The costumer Service provided by the Pohanka Honda Salesperson - Kent Smith from the begginig to end was great!!! this gentleman communicated with me on a regular basis, and at no time did I feel presssured to buy, a man with a very pleasant demeanor and personality. When the vehicle color for which I wanted became available he called me as soon as it rolled off the delivery truck. Kent even went as far as picking me up at the Amtrak station in Fredricksburgh. We drove 90 miles to work with this dealership and it was worth the drive! But besides the price, everyone at the dealership was very nice. I've bought a few cars in my day, and I don't mean the slick "I-want-to-rob-you-blind" kind of nice. They were genuinely nice people. The internet sales agent (Kevin Carter) was very cordial, helpful, and helped us talk through what we were looking for (my wife and I weren't exactly sure when we showed up). I had already exchanged several emails with him before we arrived. He did not try to push us into anything; just answered our questions (very knowledgable) and waited patiently. We drove a couple of vehicles and never felt like he was in a hurry or that he was growing impatient with us. Once we picked the car that we wanted (a 2010 Honda Civic Coupe DE) he introduced us to the business manager (the money guy) Bill Hamilton. He was extremely friendly and up front about the "up sell" stuff. He told us that he would show us the options and if we wanted we could just say no and that was it. He wasn't lying. There was absolutely no "up sell" pressure. He was happy to provide any details about the options (extended warranty, protective coating, gap insurance, etc) but there was no pressure at all. We just told him we weren't interested and we moved on (we did buy the protective coating). Bill got us a better 60-month loan rate (2.94%) than USAA could provide (3.99%) and just made the whole paperwork process very easy. Even the other sales agents that were around the dealership were very friendly. I'm military, and as a result "hit it off" with several of the guys there who were retired military. Bill the business manager was also prior military. The bottom line is that I normally HATE buying a new car. But everything I've hated about it (up sell pressure, feeling rushed, getting pushed toward a car I don't want, fake concern, over-bearing salesman) was negated by the team at Pohanka. It was a genuinely pleasant car-buying experience. This was my first Honda, and if I go back for another, I'm going to Pohanka again! More
Devona Hunter was my sales person and was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. She was able to answer all of the questions I had about the cars I purchased as well as to make me feel very comfortable w and knowledgeable person. In addition, I originally purchased an extended service contract, but later changed my mind about this purchase and decided to cancel it. This visit was last minute because I had my 8 month old son with me and it was very hot outside so I did not plan on doing anything other than a ride by. Once I was greeted by Billy I immediately felt comfortable enough to do more than just a ride by. What was more incredible about the service provided was that Billy ended up assisting me in the transfer of my sons car seat not once but three times as I test drove several vehicles and then finally back into my personal vehicle that I showed up in. it was very hot and while my son sat in the rear of a pre-cooled vehicle thanks to Billy, Billy and I struggled with the fun task of getting an infant seat correctly strapped in! I understand that Billy could have easily asked me to come back another day (and I would not have came back) but he did not, instead he showed sincere kindness towards my son and I am very thankful for that. I ended up purchasing a vehicle from Pohanka within the next couple of days thanks the kindness shown by Billy and my family and I are loving the vehicle. I would also like to thank Helena Fountain for taking her time with me and also showing loyalty to her co-worker in not opting to split the sale for helping me out when Billy was not in office. So I saved close to $1200 for a 90 minute drive. Definitely worth it. More

Mel G. was extremely helpful in working with us to iron out all the details prior to our visit- we live in Waldorf, which is about 50 miles away, and Mel arranged to have everything ready for us so we were able to complete the transaction and drive off with our car in a few hours. Bill H. worked with us and was able to arrange a financing deal which beat the loan we had obtained through our bank. We were extremely impressed with the professionalism, customer service, and no-pressure atmosphere of this dealership, and will definitely be coming back in the future. Great experience! More

Aside from the length of time it was an enjoyable car buying experience for a first-time purchaser. More
