Awesome! This was the sixth dealership I had been to in 6 months. I had been searching for a particular car that I was interested in and pohanka hadn't had any, otherwise they would have been my first stop due to the fact that my last car was purchased from them and two other cars in the family had been as well. Pohanka offered me the best deal on my trade in, I knew I was leaving with the used car I went in to buy. After much deliberation, I decided to get a new 2014 civic si. Not only was I impressed with the level of professionalism, but the personal interaction was great as well. Mike Ross was very patient and understanding. He listened to my wants and needs and worked with me on many levels. So much so that he actually took the time to teach me how to drive my new stick shift. I was very impressed. I took up about 7 hours of his day but he didn't care how long it took, as long as I left happy and in the car I wanted. The finance team was outstanding as well. After I had signed the contract, another wonderful team member came in and said they were able to get me a lower APR. I was very appreciative. This happened with the last car I bought as well. I received a phone call from them saying that another bank (not through honda) had a better offer. All of the associates were very polite and helpful. I recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone!! You'll be in good hands!! More

If I were QA (quality assurance) I would have given Mark Ross a 100 on an evaluation of his customer service skills. We went in to Pohanka to trade one vehicle and ended up trading in two. Mark approached us and right away discovered our WIN's (wants, interests and needs). He also was very thorough in explaining the FAB's (features, advantages and benefits) of the Pilot and Civic, as well as the extended warranty plans. He was very good at acknowledging what features we wanted but always kept in mind the financial goals of our purchase to what we could afford and never made us feel pressured. He's one of the few individuals that truly appreciates service members and goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Now, I wasn't exactly pleased with the amount offered by the sales manager for my 1-yr old Honda trade; however, in my experience this is usually the case. The sales associate, Terry Jones, I stayed in contact with went above and beyond what I expected from someone just trying to make a sale. If I wanted something pertaining to the car whether it be updated pictures, info that wasn't necessarily posted, or specific things that could be done in my particular situation, it was DONE. Being 19 years old and in the Navy making my first car purchase I flooded them with questions and verified their answers with my superiors and not once was I given fraudulent info. Every suggestion given to me made the process of getting the car I desired quicker, more efficient, and truly more forgiving to my wallet. I have no complaints with the vehicle AT ALL. Their service is once again very professional and exuberant. They made it possible for me to get the 1 car I wanted possible and cheaper than anywhere else I researched. Among the features she really like about her first two CRVs was the open space between the drivers and passenger sets where she could place her pocketbook, or fold down the table and reach a grandchild in the back etc. Boy was she disappointed that the newer models all had consoles like every other SUV out there. A little research indicated that 2011 was the last year without the console, so we started looking for a low mileage 2011, Richard help us find one we really like, and he was a pleasure to work with. Generally: I despise purchasing cars and furniture, because of the typical sales tactics, personality and lack of sincere customer service. Our experience with Richard and Pohanka was just the opposite, a comfortable approach with sincere customer service. I have no hesitation recommending both Richard and Pohanka. More
Was looking for a used car to replace my totaled car TLDR; - Needed a vehicle to replace the my totaled vehicle courtesy of one of the many bad drivers out there - Went looking for a used car to try an TLDR; - Needed a vehicle to replace the my totaled vehicle courtesy of one of the many bad drivers out there - Went looking for a used car to try and not get an expensive monthly car payment as my car was paid off - Excellent service from Mark Ross, Danny Wright, and John Adams (would recommend these guys!) - Thought all dealerships were evil since they always made me a sad panda and I needed a shower after leaving them - Came out knowing at least one dealership out there is out to make money but not screw you in the process in doing it - Didn't need to stress over the whole ordeal like I did and actual didn't mind buying a car - PROFIT! Sorry for the wall of text but should be a good read to you all. If not just stick with the TLDR above as it covers everything. Went looking with my wife for a used car to replace my car that was totaled by another driver that hit me. While looking around at the used cars, Mark showed up and asked if we needed help and we just told him we were looking at the used cars here that we found online. He asked me why a used car and I let him know I just wanted to walk away if lucky with little to no car payment after using the insurance check for the full/partial payment. After he asked a few questions on what I was looking for and what was wanted and then out of that what was needed; he walked us over to the other side of the lot and zigzagged us through a few rows to the car that basically had my name written all over it. Mark then proceeded to tell me about the car and what was different about it from the other models of Accords. I was impressed with his detailed intimacy of all the model Accords without having to study the window sticker and explaining some of the portions I was not knowledgeable as I was just looking at used models and none of the models 2013 or newer. He did the leg work for my wife and I to take it out for a test drive by ourselves. After returning he was there to greet us and talk to us about what we liked or didn't like. I talked to him about what I thought of the vehicle and what my wife and I spoke about as she will ask me all questions I need as I will think way too much on the issue and over analyze. After that it was to what I have come to know as the dreaded haggle of pricing and excessive fees that I thought all dealerships did and Mark could sense this. He let us know it would not be like that and it would be painless. I didn't believe him and he told me he would make not just me but also my wife a believer after today. He also assured me we would get a more than fair price after everything was said and done. We filled out the needed paperwork and then Mark would walk back and forth from his desk a few times and then I saw the window sticker on the desk with the keys in between him have small talk with us which was very personable and didn't feel like he was reciting from the Car Salesmen Conversation Starters 101 book I thought they all kept in their back pocket or desk. Mark showed us some numbers and and only one fee not 3-50 fee’s like you see at most dealerships and then the taxes and such that are required by law. I was actually taken back with this and the actual price of the vehicle which was lower than what I found online when researching it while sitting there and also looking at other dealerships. The wife and I agreed with the bottom line for the car and it was on to the next step. Next thing I know we were being introduced to this very serious professional but personable looking gentleman by the name of Danny Wright. Now Mark told us all these wonderful things about the Business Manager for Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg and my wife and I just couldn't believe it. By the way Mark spoke it Danny was the guy that looked out for everybody that bought a car from PHoF and went to bat for you to get you the best loan and interest rate and yadda yadda yadda. Something we have all heard from any salesman at any dealership you would go to. I have to say I was wrong yet again on this and after speaking with Danny for just a few minutes because of a few computer issues he was having that day he was verifying everything manually to not slow down the process and getting us out of there as a happy customer of a new car. Mark then discussed with us the different warranties and all the so called bedazzle of 123 xyz and so forth. He didn’t try to push everything under the sun on us to protect the car and keep it looking like new for 20 years scenario. Mark explained everything as he got a feel for us as are we wanting to keep the car for a couple of years to longer and then just answered our questions and let us make our own decision on the options. Because of the time my wife had to go to ensure someone was home for when the kids got home from their first day of school and I was left to finish up the paperwork and drive the new car home. We spoke with Mark and Danny about this and he ensured us everything would be good and they would work with our schedule. This is where Mark took care of things with the car and I worked with Danny. Let me tell you I was glad I was wrong about Danny and lumped him in with other Business Managers out there. The guy really knew his stuff and you could tell he was genuine with wanting to get you the best that met your needs without feeling like you always do when buying a car. He talked a few numbers showed me a few things and the next thing I knew I signed everything that was needed and was back with Mark he handed over the sets of keys to my new car and also showed me a few things on the vehicle. Now being the tech-geek that I am, I already looked up everything I needed to know about the car online to get it all setup before I even left the dealership for the drive home. Mark wanted to still go over it just to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Drove the car home and the wife and I were satisfied that I got what I wanted at the price we wanted. Next day we went up to the dealership to drop off the last of the paperwork and also spoke with Danny as I found a defect on one of the stock floor mats that were in the trunk since I opted for the all weather mats this time around (good investment and really like the way they lock into place). I let Danny know about it and he made a quick call from his phone in his office and had us drive to the service center as he walked over there to meet us. Introduced us to John Adams and gave him a brief rundown of the issue and went off to into his day to day doings of his job. John looked at the mat and saw the issue. I thought he would just replace the one mat but he replaced all of them to ensure they were all matching and didn't want us to have any other issues in case the defect found on one was to show up later on one of the other three or possibly all of them. All in all I was really taken back on how smooth it all went, how bad I didn't feel after buying a car, how I didn't need to stress out like I did since my feeling that all car dealerships are crooks, and how professional, personable, and just down to earth everyone was. I would happily recommend PHoF to anyone I speak with that is in the market for a new/used vehicle. Coming from a perfectly running 2008 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L V6 with 91k miles which I truly loved when I had to go sit in the parking lot of I-95 that I miss a lot as I spent a lot of time in the car. I came away with a 2014 Honda Sport which I didn't think I would like because of the lack of leather, sunroof, or a V6 engine. I couldn't be happier with the new car so far. I like the new fabric they used for the seats over leather and so did my wife. I also like the differences between the 2 vehicles. The car drives smooth and you can sense the ride is a little louder compared to my older car but not so much that it is irritating or annoying. I like the way it handles and if I need to pass a car I can still do it. I will enjoy the savings in gas with this model over my older car. All in all I like the car and I see my wife and I doing business with Mark Ross at PHoF in the future when it is time to replace or upgrade her vehicle. More

I told them what I wanted up front and it all got better from there. The Finance Manager "Ms. Tamika Morefield" was one the most friendly and motivated I have ever met. They told me up front about their hidden charges, which there was none. I went to 2 other D.C. Metro Area Dealers and none were even close. The other dealer managers played a cat and mouse game and had added dealer options that I did not want and they would not remove their options or the price for them (Pin Stripes, etc) and additional handling charges. If you are looking for a new Honda and live in the D.C. area you need to go to Pohanka. More

I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and when we couldn't make a deal with my first car choice, Carlo suggested a different car choice. I didn't know if I would like it but once I saw it and actually test drove it, I fell in love with it. So, even if you can't get the car you want at first, they'll definitely be able to help you find a car that you'll probably love even more. Thank you guys! More
