Car was damaged by service department. Service manager John Moutopoulos refused to correct all of the damages sustained by technician. Scratches done to my car and service manager telling me it was already there. Do not go there and do not do business with Platinum or else you will be very sorry. I had shipped a car i purchased up to New York, and when my daughter drove it, she found it had major problems with the car. I had purchased a warrenty in Florida, but that was not the problem. I only had a short period of time in New York and had to leave no later than Friday in order to drive back with one of my other cars, for my husband to get back to work. I called Platinum Volkswagen out of the Blue, they never met me before, did not know who I was, but when Dee Chervenie answered the phone and heard my problem, she told me not to worry bring the car to her. When i brought the car to her the wait was with no doubt 5 min. if not less. I was she new I was upset put kept me calm and assured me she would do her best and within 10 min she was able to tell me that three of my problems were covered right off the top still covered under Volkswagen, The 4th Problem still covered under Volkswagen, and then best part was that my car would be ready in 24 hours so i could leave in time. She called my cell every step of the way to keep me updated. She let me know all the other work the used car dealer did not do and gave me the bad parts to the car and when i drove that car out of the dealership it was driving like it was brand new. Dee Chervenie, treated me as if I was no a customer but her family member and that is what I really like about my experience with Platinum. I have never gone to any dealership and have been treated with this type of kindness and care by anyone. My sincere thanks to you all. More
They still have my car and I will need to take them to court. My wife's VW was hit while parked. The young driver was just learning how to drive. An accident report was prepared by local police. Thinking the damage was minimal we accepted the father of the driver's offer to repair the car. My wife got repair estimates and Platinum VWs was the lowest. The father of the new driver wrote a check out to Platinum VW for the amount listed on the repair estimate. My wife presented the Accident Report and check at the very beginning of the process. She was told to keep the check and pay with it once the car was repaired. Well, the car took a longer period of time to repair then promised. And, there was additional damage discovered. And, a mysterious oil leak developed. And a belt needed to be changed The "lowest bid" was no longer low. When I went to pick up the car, Platinum VW would no longer accept the check. Even with a police report that contained the verified driver's information, as well as the registered owner of the other car. When I pointed out that Platinum VW should have pointed this out when the check was first presented to them, they said they were sorry. But they would not release the car unless I paid for the damage. The Service Manager wanted a copy of the other's Drivers License. When I pointed out that there is a police accident report containing that information and more, verified by a police officer, he did not care. So bedsides the additional damage they found, and the oil leak, and the belt, Platinum wanted me to pay for the original damage on top of it. No money, no car. I walked home. I then contacted John Morgan. I had to call him again and he stated that he could not help me. More
Platinum Volkswagen changed my water pump two times before the car hit 3,600 miles, the last time being in April of 2012. The reason was a whistling noise. The last time they changed it, I drove off, only to see coolant leaking, so I promptly drove back and was told by the service manager that "that is normal, we overfill it with coolant", which I accepted as truth and drove off. A few months later, I take the car in for it's 10k service, and a leak is found on one of the hoses that was worked on by Platinum Volkswagen. The leak was contained to the belly pan and never made it to my garage floor or else I'd have found it much sooner. This car was brand new and only worked on by Platinum Volkswagen, so unless it is just a coincidence that a hose/part that they worked on wend bad, I'd have to say it gives me a good enough reason to be unsatisfied with their workmanship. As far as their customer service, all my experiences while dealing with the service department were negative. I was told that calling there 15 minutes before they close up shop means there is no one left that can tell me the status of my car. I needed a new tire and they installed and let me drive off with the wrong model tire that didn't match my other 3 tires. Luckily I spotted that as soon as I got home and was able to go back and have it swapped again. Joann Marsala, when I asked her why my car wasn't ready, gave me 3 different/conflicting stories during one phone conversation and eventually when I called her out on the lies, hung up the telephone on me. The manager tried to make things right, but in the end result, my new car is leaking coolant and all the negative experiences earned them 1 star on this site. I'd recommend anyone to take their vehicle to another dealership. More
I bought a used Passat wagon from a good friend who was leaving for Germany and had trouble transferring the CPO warranty from his name to mine and was dealing with VW of America tryng to straighten it out leaving for Germany and had trouble transferring the CPO warranty from his name to mine and was dealing with VW of America tryng to straighten it out. I called Platinum VW and was transferred to Joanne Marsala who grabbed the bull by the horns and helped me straighten out the situation in a very professional manner. I then brought in the car, where they repaired, inspected, and returned to me my car in A-1 condition. Thank you Platinum VW and Joanne. John Grossman, a Service Advisor, is always helpful, honest, and just overall great to deal with. One of the best parts about going to Platinum is that they do keep the customer in mind, and do their best to get you in and out quickly, with status updates along the way. Going to Platinum is just another reminder about why I love owning a VW! I truly feel fortunate to be able to bring my car to a service place that I can trust and that I know I will have a pleasant experience. More
