Wonderful Experience With Doc I recently purchased a vehicle for my mother for her birthday as a surprise. I live outside of NY and did not buy the vehicle from this dealership how I recently purchased a vehicle for my mother for her birthday as a surprise. I live outside of NY and did not buy the vehicle from this dealership however I searched around for a good Mew York dealership that would ultimately take good care of all of her needs. The vehicle has a lot of bells and whistles that my mother was unfamiliar with so I searched all over Long Island for a good location via the phone. The moment I spoke to Doc, I knew that my mother would be in great hands!! Doc was extremely informative and kind over the phone. Beyond that he not only spoke with confidence he proved it with his actions and service when my mother arrived. My mom felt like a true VIP as Doc went over details of the vehicle and all of its functions. All I can say is Wow! Doc didn't have to take the time to go over the vehicle especially since I did not buy it from him however my mother felt right at home. I am confidant that my family will rely on Plantinum Volkeswagon for years to come and will gladly recommend them to friends and family. More

Bought my 2013 VW Passat TDI from Teddy VW, but since i live in Hicksville i was getting the oil changes done from Platinum VW in Hicksville. Got an oil change done at 19560 miles. A month later sign came up to add AdBlue and i had only 1700 miles left to drive and get it taken care off. I called the service department and explained that the service was done at 19560 miles and the sign came up. I was told that i need to bring the car at the service center to get it checked as to why the sign has come up. i work 9 to 5, and they only take a appointments from 7:30 to 2 pm. i even asked then if i could drop it off at around 6 pm at the service center but i was told nobody would be there to take the car in. finally i had to take two hours off from work to get it done. Now, two months later at 25000 miles another sign has come up "Service Now". i called the service department today again and same story they told me that i have to bring my car in to get that sign reset. i called the dealership to speak to the owner of Platinum VW, since he wasn't there i requested for a call back. Someone by the Name "Josh" called back and introduced himself as the owner of the dealership. i explained him both the issues. He was way to arrogant. I requested him if i can get loaner for a day, since its his technician mistake that he did not reset the sign when the oil change was done. He answered me by saying that its not my technicians fault and by the way "Did you buy this car from us?". My answer was NO and right away he said the only thing i can do is to get you the best price on our Rental. I expressed to him that since its a mistake on your end why do i have to pay for rental. His answer to me was "Since you didn't buy the car from us, i don't have to entertain this nonsense and we can end the conversation right here". Even though they have been billing VW for those oil changes and have been getting reimbursed all along. He made it sound like as if he was Doing me a favor by doing the oil changes. What surprised me the most out this whole experience is the attitude of the Owner of this Dealership? I would strongly recommend TEDDY VW to everyone who is looking to purchase a VW. Their Sales staff is extremely accomodating. The only reason i didn't get the service done from them because they're about 23 miles away from my residence and Platinum VW is .8 Miles. But the push back i got from the Owner "Josh". i would never go back to them again. More

Two days ago I experienced mechanical issues with my Tiguan and contacted the dealership from which I purchased the vehicle ( 2nd vehicle in 5 years) and was left with a feeling that they really couldn't care about my situation. Believe me I get it vacations, volume, etc etc. Thank god a friend of mine recommended platinum. Upon my arrival this I was greeted with "how can I help you" from the fellow checking in the car to a experienced professional "Dee" who put me at ease with the issues at hand. Just picked up the car, washed, running smooth. Thank you to all the staff More
Like any other service department This dealer is great as far as the sales department goes. Mr Riccobene is one of the best salesman I have ever dealt with and now a manager I think. But again, like any other dealer, the issue is getting to the service department. Do I want to get into specifics? It is the same thing as anywhere else. Either they try selling you what you dont need or their prices are way to the roof. Forget about going the extra mile, they tell you to take it with Volkswagen as they dont have nothing to do with it. I would recommend the owner buying all of his employees a book called "Raving fans" and he will see how things change. More
Nail in tire side wall... Sat. 11/15/14, I brought my '13 Beetle in for it's two year service. On my way to Platinum VW my tire pressure light came on which I mentioned to my Sat. 11/15/14, I brought my '13 Beetle in for it's two year service. On my way to Platinum VW my tire pressure light came on which I mentioned to my Service Advisor. As I was sitting in the waiting room, I heard Joe Riccabone tell two customers that they had nails in their side wall and that the tires would need to be replaced. When Joe called me in to his office he told me that I also had a nail in the side wall and that the two plugs that are in my rear tires were leaking. The new tire would be $255.00. Having heard that I was now the third person with this problem, I declined the new tire. As I was waiting for them to put air in my tires, I heard a fourth person being told about a nail!!! (I didn't hear that the nail was in the side wall). I asked Joe how long he thought I had before I would have to add air, he said about 1 - 1 1/2 days. I had my tires checked out at a local mechanic and was told that there were no nails. Over two weeks after my appointment and there is no leak in my tire. I called VW Customer Care and did hear from a Regional Case Manager. He told me that he spoke to the Management at Platinum and that they "were sticking to their diagnosis"!! I will have to find a VW dealership that deals more honestly with their customers. More

Almost everything has exclusions and the warranties they offer on their factory certified used cars are hard to obtain. I had to have a clutch repaired at 45 k and it was because of a defective part. I was treated like a total idiot because I insisted there was something wrong with the clutch which began making strange noises shortly after i purchased the car. They insisted on payment to repair the car as the VW rep was not due in for several days. This I agreed to. I insisted on their keeping the parts for a VW rep to examine and indeed it was a case of defective parts. That was in late March. I was told by VW I would be issued a full refund in a few weeks. That did not happen. It took repeated calls to national VW customer assistance and to the dealership to finally be issued a refund. I believe that had I not been so perseverant I would not have had my warranty honored or gotten them to issue a refund after almost FIVE months. BTW, its difficult to be directed to the appropriate person in management through their phone system. It was VW National which had failed to issue the dealership payment for their warranty work. . I fully believe that had I not kept on top of vw customers care this claim would still be in limbo. At no time however did the dealership call and say "we should have received payment by now. We'll look into it" I should say the service manager did a fine job of presenting the case to VW but after that there was a lack of communication. Ironically the dealership was able to reach me in minutes when I posted my initial critical review. To sum up the experience showed a lack of concern for a customer. More
