They still have my car and I will need to take them to court. My wife's VW was hit while parked. The young driver was just learning how to drive. An accident report was prepared by local police. Thinking the damage was minimal we accepted the father of the driver's offer to repair the car. My wife got repair estimates and Platinum VWs was the lowest. The father of the new driver wrote a check out to Platinum VW for the amount listed on the repair estimate. My wife presented the Accident Report and check at the very beginning of the process. She was told to keep the check and pay with it once the car was repaired. Well, the car took a longer period of time to repair then promised. And, there was additional damage discovered. And, a mysterious oil leak developed. And a belt needed to be changed The "lowest bid" was no longer low. When I went to pick up the car, Platinum VW would no longer accept the check. Even with a police report that contained the verified driver's information, as well as the registered owner of the other car. When I pointed out that Platinum VW should have pointed this out when the check was first presented to them, they said they were sorry. But they would not release the car unless I paid for the damage. The Service Manager wanted a copy of the other's Drivers License. When I pointed out that there is a police accident report containing that information and more, verified by a police officer, he did not care. So bedsides the additional damage they found, and the oil leak, and the belt, Platinum wanted me to pay for the original damage on top of it. No money, no car. I walked home. I then contacted John Morgan. I had to call him again and he stated that he could not help me. More
To say my experience with Platinum VW in Hicksville , NY was terrible would be an understatement. If you are looking for a used car - RUN FAST and RUN FAR. But even if you are looking for a new car, just ask yourself - if Platinum would stand behind their attorneys on used car that had issues, what makes you think they wouldn’t do that if you had any issues on a new car? I bought a 2009 Beetle convertible from salesman Doc Perin, that was a CPO - certified pre-owned vehicle - with only 19k in mileage on it. Less than ONE-HOUR into my ownership, the front headlight fell out of the car and could have caused a serious accident as the light got wedged underneath the car that was behind me. I had to take off work the next day to make sure there weren't any other problems with the Beetle, but there were - the remaining headlight wasn't working (manual or daytime running light), a windshield wiper blade was defective and I had problems with the switch that controls the convertible top. This was all within the first 24-hours. The owner, Josh Lever, said he “felt terrible”, but all he wanted to do was fix the car and kept directing me to his service manager. There was a point where I was willing to keep the car as long as he was willing to work with me and back his product by adding to my short two-year extended warranty. Again, he offered nothing in terms of an additional extended warranty and directed me to his service manager. I was finally forced to pick up the car, after they lawyered up on me with a threatening letter. After I picked my car up I quickly figured out they had put additional test drive miles on it and left my gas tank near empty. In addition, on the day I finally picked up the car, they intimated I was lying about the whereabouts of a second key that I left at the dealership. Upon calling me back, there was no apology, just an admission that they had found the extra key. There is a reason they are called used car dealers. Every bad thing you've ever heard about them was true in my experience and as it turns out Lemon Laws don't protect the public as much as you think. I would NEVER use this dealership nor buy VW again as my efforts to come to an acceptable solution with this dealership or VW themselves were turned on deaf ears. More

I went to VW knowing exactly what i wanted, down to the extras and color. I also had a 2 week deadline. I'm usually not very fond of car salesman but Doc and everyone at VW were very friendly and easy to deal with. I am going to recommend VW, and more importantly, this dealership, to everyone that I know. I absolutely love my new Jetta TDI and am glad i found such an amazing dealership to purchase it from. More

I initited an internet inquiry for a VW Passat SE with Navigationa nd Sunroof. AJ Fiore was a pleasure to deal with. He was honest, straightforward and did not take me on 'wild goose chases.' He offered his price the first time and after I tried to negotiate it down, he welcomed me to check out other dealerships. I did and after talking to 3 other dealerships, I found that the best I could do was within a few dollars of what AJ offered me to begin with. True to my word to him, I went back to him and made the deal for the car from him. We have worked otu the whole deal by phone, email and text and the car is now waiting for me to pick up. AJ assured me it would take less than an hour to sign the papers and drive off from the dealership. My experience with AJ to date has been so good that I actually believe he means what he says. I just have a gut feeling about this person from the first time I talked with him and I think it is turning out true. He is honest and upfront. I would love all the dealers to be like this. I strongly encourage all to deal with AJ if you are even thinking of getting a VW car. I made a strange request to AJ about lending me a 'car bow' so I can use that to surprise a family member. I will write a follow up review after my visit to the dealership. More

He was very helpful and really went the extra mile to help me. He was never pushy and did not try to sneak any added costs to the vehicle. He is honest and friendly. AJ really took out the stress that usually comes with buying a car. He was patient with all my questions and never gave the impression that he was too busy to help. The finance person I worked with was Eric Outcalt. He too was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Eric took the time to explain all my options and made sure I understood them all. He also took his time and made sure I didn't feel rushed. The owner, Josh Lever also came by and made sure that everything went smoothly and that I was well taken care of. Before leaving, they were sure to show us all the details of the car, even small things like how to change the time and select your preset radio stations. I would definitely recommend platinum VW. I now have a Jetta Sportswagen TDI which I was told (by another dealer) that I couldn't get at the price I wanted but I DID. The car is and was immaculate when I picked it up. Get this I was not allowed to drive away till the options were explained to me, that's service. The sales room was clean and modern with an atmosphere of quite professionalism and I saw lots of clientele buying. The service manager and the sales manager never pressured me to get extras but did explain completely my questions, what a fantastic dealership. When all was finalized I was escorted to the car by AJ and Debbie but stopped by Josh the senior salesperson and asked if all was well (it was not another opportunity to sell something) the place is genuinely friendly and personal. I had sent massive amounts of time researching my next vehicle from hybrids to diesels only Platinum gave me what I needed, a great car and great service. More
My original intention was to purchase a different car from a different dealership. My feeling was that I would sacrifice service for price, so I went to a dealer whom instructed me that I should come bac from a different dealership. Thankfully, that made my decision to go with a Volkswagen much easier. I went to Platinum Volkswagen based on a recommendation from a family member and was extremely pleased with the experience. Al made the car buying experience painless by taking all my requirements into consideration; he went above and beyond to assist me when my original insurance company did not adequately do its job. David sat with me and explained every facet of financing to a degree that made me completely comfortable with the price of my car and what I was getting. Debbie went over every feature inside my car so that I would get the most out of the driving experience. Josh, the owner of Platinum VW, was friendly and in touch with all of the customers. I would absolutely recommend this dealer to anyone - regardless of what you are looking to buy, consider a Volkswagen from this dealership.
