Went in to purchase an Accord Sedan. Was shown demo/executive vehicles that had 10-20k+ miles on them with discounts. Honda has a reputation for lacking in discounts and it proved true, however the quality of the sedan seemed to more than make up for it. The sales agent Mr.Lazor was courteous and pleasant. He seemed to know very much about the product he was selling and very good at his job at Honda. I sincerely believed he was out to get the best price for me and my wife on a New/Demo/Used Accord at Phillipsburg Honda. The '11 Accord was satisfactory other than that it was a 4-cylinder engine but I'm not here to write about 4~6 cylinder engines. I regretted not testing the heater/AC while test driving the vehicle. After the purchase I noticed faint burning smell and erratic/reverberating noise when the heater was turned on. I took it into the service dept. and the service gentlemen told me there were leaves and such stuck in the (heating compartment?) and it was removed. I went home and noticed the high/low pitch, almost electronic humming like noise remained. It seemed to me like the ball bearing on the fan that blows out the heating air went bad or was going bad. The high pitch noise is very annoying and seemed like something I could not ignore for a car I just bought from the dealership. Went into service again two days later but to my surprise the service department employees pretended not to hear it at all! They brought out a loaner to say that the high pitch reverberating noise was normal on all Accords. I did notice a similar sound coming from the heating unit on the newer/loaner but nothing like the noise at the decibel level in the Accord that I purchased from the Honda dealership. The service dept suggested I turn up the music to drown it out??? It took some effort to convince the service department that this was not natural and they did offer to replace the heating blower next week. The headlights seemed to be dying or to be having problems also. During evening commute it was dangerously difficult for me to discern lane divisions on the road. I asked them to have a look at that but I'm not sure if it will be replaced. I hope the service dept doesn't try to ignore or play dumb when new buyers bring in cars with problems. It was rather upsetting when they told me there was nothing wrong with the loud noise problem when I've driven all sorts of vehicles from sedans to work trucks and those vehicles' heaters made no annoying high pitch reverberations as if to insult my intelligence. All in all I would recommend Phillipsburg Honda to other potential buyers. I felt the salesperson, Mr.Lazor helped me out a good deal in the purchase. Honestly I do not feel as if I got a bargain or anything but then again it's a Honda so there. I hope the minor complications can be rectified ASAP and I won't have to drown out the high pitched annoyance from the heating unit by turning up the music system on the new vehicle. More
This is my first purchase at Philipsburg. That would also enclude Chevy and BMW as well. I had a time problem and needed to get into a car very quickly. They made is happen very quickly. I had a trade as well. They bent over backward to get it done delivered my plate and registration to my house! Over all they did everything they could to make this experience a good one and it WAS! Wonderful experience from start to finish! Our salesman, Yury, listened to our needs and our comfort zone of affordability. He patiently answered my millions of questions quickly and made sure I understood each answer before proceeding to the next. He has obvious passion for Honda's quality, as he showed me each little detail of the Civic models. His enthusiasm for the Honda products he sells is genuine, and it puts me at ease to know he is proud of his cars. Unbelieveably, they matched the lowest price I came in with, and because of that I got the car I wanted most, the fancier Civic EX-L with Navigation, PLUS some additional options, and even an extra WARRANTY that Eddie Ajhar customized just for me. I must mention that I was surprised at the cleanliness of the service garage area. One day I called when it was Peter's day off, and was referred to their department, where a service man happily answered my question with no fuss whatsoever. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is what makes Phillipsburg-Easton Honda outstanding in my book! More
