When I wrote this I didn't know how badly this dealership ruined me when they sold me this car. I am not going to touch my original, but I need you to read all of my responses below because I need someone's ruined me when they sold me this car. I am not going to touch my original, but I need you to read all of my responses below because I need someone's help because I am so scared right now This is my original post....please also read my responses below Be warned about Phil Long Hyundai. They make it look like they care about you and are helping you but in the end they are snakes selling snakeskin oils. When they came out with the monthly car payment I should have pressed them to tell me total price of my used car Also, I should have taken the car to a licensed mechanic to check it out before buying it I noticed a problem with my car having a hard time going up hills and what I talked to the salesman he told me it was normal but NEVER trust a salesman because it wasn't until months later that I found out it was a possible transmission problem They also told me they did the 60,000 mile checkup but they never did I also found out that they over sold me on the car by $12,000. Did you know that by law they are allowed to mark up a car up to 150% over market value and if you don't do your research before you buy the car you could be stuck with the same kind of negative equity that I am now stuck with? Also, DON'T but the Secure Road or Secure Mark. They are just bogus fees that not only waste your money (you can buy it way cheaper somewhere else) but you can never get your money back Also beware of the secure warranty and GAP insurance they try to sell you. Not only can you get it cheaper through your insurance or other program but they will tack on the amount of time you had the two items making the money you get back going into their pockets The law doesn't protect people. It protects the dealership Also, when Phil Long Hyundai sees this review they will know who is writing it and will do everything in their power to discredit me I don't fear them or care what they say about me The point of this is to warn you to do your research before buying anything from them 1. Avoid the bogus extended warranty fees. They are just fees they hide to charge you more and you can buy them cheaper other places 2. DO NOT allow them to get away with just showing you the monthly payment fee. Make them show you the FULL amount you will be paying for the car. 3. After they show you the full price of the car you are buying go to Carfax with the VIN number to find out the market value. You can also call other dealerships to verify the REAL value of the car 4. DO NOT trust that they did all of the maintenance and checked the car before selling it to you because you will end up like me. You should by law be allowed to take it to Firestone or Mineke to do a full checkup on the vehicle. If they don't allow it then take that as a small gn and walk out of the dealership as quickly as possible 5. They make their living over their intimidation tactics and emotional manipulation. Don't fall for their smiles or pretend politeness because it will quickly disappear if you challenge them like me. 6. Know the car you want to buy and the max price you want to pay. That way no one can manipulate or push you into the lemon that I ended up with. There are honest dealerships out there. Keep moving on until you find a dealership that builds their relationship on trust. These people are snakeskin oil snakes. FYI - These snakes only took advantage of me because I was desperate and hurting. Had I remembered my strength and courage I wouldn't now have a car with $12,000 in negative equity and possibly needing to pay for either a new transmission or something else Be strong and confident in what you want. Do your research and DON'T back down. The worse that can happen to you is they turn a funny red face to which you can simply say goodbye and go to your next dealership More
