Phil Long Hyundai of Chapel Hills responded

Mrs. Schiller’s complaint is without merit. Prior to her signing any documents; Mrs. Schiller was presented a menu of options to go with her purchase. She chose the 10-year, 100,000 Mile warranty that included Lifetime Oil Changes and also included any repairs that she may need on her after market sunroof that she was having installed. She was presented and explained all options by 2 managers. She confirmed her decision and purchase on 6 different documents and 6 different signatures all explaining these terms and conditions. In her initial visit after her purchase, she claimed she couldn’t afford the payment and wanted a refund of the warranty to lower it. After it was explained to her that the payment would not change if the warranty was to be canceled and that the non-cancelable warranty amount wouldn’t go back to her, but to the lender, she then changed her story and claimed she never knew anything about the purchase of this warranty. This being said we here at Phil Long Hyundai of Chapel Hills are still willing to continue to work to a conclusion with Mrs. Schiller. We have left her another message.

I met with Mrs. Schiller personally on Thursday, 1/5/12, and had a nice conversation regarding the warranty. After reviewing the documents, Mrs. Schiller agreed that she was aware that she had purchased the warranty, but had really wanted to not continue with the coverage. Upon her and my discussion regarding the coverage and the cost we agreed to cancel the warranty and process the refund cancellation to the lender. This was resolved to both her and our satisfaction. I did talk with Kenn Patton and since I accidently signed papers for an extened warranty which I never wanted, he did agree to send the $2202 to the lender; the papers which I signed stated that it could be up to 60 days before the lender gets the money. Because of the whole mess I sm waiting to make sure that it really does happen. Sorry this reply took so long, but as I do not use email much and do not give the address unless I must.

It has become quite apparent that anything agreed to by Ms. Shiller is hollow, at best. It is unfortunate and very sad that she posts things that are untrue. In reference to our meeting, I have completed everything I said I would do for her, and more. She is not under any obligation to me for anything she stated she would do. After meeting her, I had no expectations that she would ever follow through on her commitments she volunteered to me. And that is ok. Her position on both posts are without merit, inaccurate, and baseless. The refund mentioned was sent but she never called me that it had not posted. I've only come to find this out through her post on DealerRater; in other words, the open line of communication has been one way.
