Brought my car in with an oil light on - standard Audi problem. Refused to fix under warranty, "call Audi of America" crap like everywhere else. Told them I knew that but still need an estimate of the cost if I have to do it myself.<br><br>Told me they did a compression test, "low compression" and that - and I quote - "always means the cylinder is cracked". A whole new engine was going to be $10,000. Then a strong push to buy a new one. I picked up the car and they said it hadn't moved from the spot I parked it in. Then they realized that was a mistake to say, had to cover themselves by saying they did the compression test out in the parking lot. It was raining heavily that day. Totally dishonest about the problem, and what they did to diagnose it.<br><br>Struck up a conversation with a mechanic - said if it is any heavy engine issue they can't fix it anyway, they farm out all the work to some company in the midwest so any engine work is $10,000 no matter what it is. Also said they've done so many oil pump changes they would go under if they had to pay for them all.<br><br>End result - an independent shop that will do the work found it only needed a new oil pump and some valves.
