Beware I chose to have my vehicle towed to Palmer Dodge partially because it wouldn't start (it was showing low voltage on the dashboard gauge) but mainly be I chose to have my vehicle towed to Palmer Dodge partially because it wouldn't start (it was showing low voltage on the dashboard gauge) but mainly because there were 2 safety recalls that needed attention (real axle and driver airbag inflator). After running the $140 diagnostic, I am told I need a new catalytic converter and O2 sensors - $2,300, but they can have it ready the next day. I questioned how that could be the cause for the car not starting and was met with a defensive explanation that the codes from the O2 sensors reduced the voltage to prevent the vehicle from starting (really?). The bantering went on for a few minutes. When he said "look, with all the recall work we are doing for free, the catalytic converter labor will be almost free", I told him the vehicle recently passed emissions and I declined all service except for the recall work. Angry, he said the recall work would now take a few days longer and told me he wouldn't be able to help me out on the charges for the rental vehicle. I told him that was fine. I got the vehicle back a week later, running like normal. More
