EXCELLENT HELP AND SERVICE HAD AN UNEXPECTED ROAD TRIP COME UP AND NEEDED A OIL CHANGE. Misleading Diagnosis I recently towed my truck into Pacifico Ford to diagnose engine trouble on a 2010 Ford Ranger with 82K miles. Upon diagnosis by the service team I I recently towed my truck into Pacifico Ford to diagnose engine trouble on a 2010 Ford Ranger with 82K miles. Upon diagnosis by the service team I was informed that my engine had to replaced at a rate of 7500$. Upon pressing for technical details, the only explanation available was that due to internal malfunction (causing a blown spark plug) it needs to be replaced entirely (further diagnosis would require disassembly). A highly questionable diagnosis for a young truck by Ford standards. I was provided options for purchasing a new vehicle on site and the option to scrap my Ranger for parts. Upon doing more research, I found a private mechanic to evaluate the engine. He milled a new insert for the blown spark plug without removing the engine. The repair cost 427$ and the truck has been running well and efficiently for about a month now with no issue. I was led to believe my engine was inoperable. They had me in a corner without many options to repair or negotiate. I can only imagine 3 explanations for this misinformation. 1: I was trying to be sold a new truck above all other options = slimy 2: The mechanics are unwilling or able to perform the repair = unqualified 3: The effort or price point to complete the job was undesirable = dishonest I would love to get an explanation while customer service is so highly touted at this location. After cost to tow my truck to two locations with one misdiagnosis, Pacifico Ford cost me close to 400$ just on inconvenience, before finding a mechanic to repair the issue for 427$. More
