The guy there offered me a rental car on behalf of Honda (as it was a recall) which I accepted (and later repented, read below). I told him that the check engine light turned on a week ago and I thought brakes and power steering pump hose (had a leak) needed inspection. He said they would charge $195 for the inspection and the amount can later be used towards the repair. I agreed. He told me that I will get a call in the morning around 9 and then I can bring the rental car and take my car (or leave it for the repair). I had plans with my family around noon and in the entire afternoon. Little did I know that they will be shattered, thanks to the "excellent (?)" service of the dealership. I did not get any call until 11. I called to check, the gentleman who was responsible for my car had a day off. I was asked to check again. Call again at 1. Same thing. Kept calling but they could not trace who was assigned to work and if someone was assigned at all. Called at 4 pm and got the impression that someone was working on it. I was also worried because it was Saturday and the rental company would close at 5. I did not want to pay the rental from my pocket for Sunday and Monday. I decided to go and check. My whole day was ruined. Around 5, I was told that they did everything they were supposed to and they handed me the estimate. It was surprising because until 4 they could not trace if somebody was even assigned to work on the car and apparently no one was. But anyway. Now about their estimate. They said the car needed a new transmission and it would cost $5661. When I asked in detail (on Monday, when the gentelman came back to work), if they even checked properly (other than just reading the code off the scanner). I was told that they did test drove, there was very loud whiny nouse at low speeds and it had a severe clunk during upshifts. It was shocking because I never felt any problem with the transmission. There was never any noise and it shifted very smoothly. As for the brakes, they said that the front pads were 0% left, rear pads were 10% left, and rotors needed machining. The estimate was $390 for front (including machining) and $290 for rear (without machining). As for pump hose, they said it needed to be replaced and also recommended that the pump be replaced as well (there was nothing wrong with the pump). The labor for pump and hose was $585 and parts were extra. But, in fact, there was nothing wrong the transmission. I just read about the code on internet and realized that it was nothing serious. Replacing the transmission fluid could fix it for others (or in some cases cleaning the solenoids). I just erased the code. Now it has been six months since then, and the car has been running just fine. No check engine light (I have not even changed the transmission fluid), have driven more than 3000 miles and everything is perfectly fine. And they wanted me to spend $5661 on transmission. As for the power steering pump, it was fine, and I knew it. The hose had a very small leak at the connection point and it is still fine. Just added a little power steering fluid (the Honda brand is $4.5, a bottle) and that's it. As for brakes, I took it to another mechanic. He said the rear pads were fine (more than 70%) and didn't need to be replaced. According to him they had more than a year of life on them. The front pads were about 30% but he recommended that they be replaced. It cost $100. In short, they have a bad customer service and are a big rip off. Stay away from them! More

Extremely frustrating experience I received a 8% lower quote the same day I got my new car from them. And the information they provided is very misleading. They signed me into a lease contract without mentioning anything about the fees while they were busy selling their services, when I was sitting there clearly expressed my need - I can do finance and I don't think I need that much service for a leased car. But they kept persuading me that lease is lower interest rate and I can return it any time I want without any penalty, which is total WRONG! And when I tried to talk to them after, they kept me waiting for one week and replied you should have not signed the contract if you don't read through, and you should not shop around after closing the deal people are busy there. Now I end up in a three year LEASE contract at 10% higher price. More

We saw the car on the internet and made an appointment with Tate Mackenzie to show us the car. I had previously had terrible experiences purchasing cars at dealerships, but Tate was so funny and friendly, that he made purchasing a car a pleasure. It was more like purchasing a car from a friend, than from a salesman. He was not pushy at all and did not make us sit there for hours. Instead, he really worked with us to find a fair price. Tate made the purchasing experience smooth and hassle-free. My daughter absolutely loves her car and we left the dealership extremely happy and satisfied. Tate also contacted us a few days later to ensure that my daughter was still happy with the car and that we were satisfied with the purchasing experience. This was by far the best dealership experience I have ever had. I highly recommend both Tate Mackenzie and Pacific Honda. More
