Ourisman Mazda is the best dealership. I previously went to 3 other dealers before I decided to go with Ourisman Mazda. Be sure to avoid this dealer ship. They exemplify the most despicable qualities associated with the stereotype of a car salesman. They deceived us by telling us that they had the car we wanted in the lo most despicable qualities associated with the stereotype of a car salesman. They deceived us by telling us that they had the car we wanted in the lot with a lower than average quoted price. We actually called again to confirm the car was there before getting there. When we arrived it became apparent that they were using this dirty sales tactic to sell us other cars they had in stock. They made us wait for some time, assuring us that they would get the original car they had promised. Then they had the audacity to ask us to put a "down payment" on the car before ordering the car. I'm sure the price would have changed too. Stay away from this place, they will try to swindle you. More
I recommend avoiding Ourisman Mazda in Laurel, Maryland for Mazda service. My personal experience results in my opinion that Ourisman Mazda service department staff are either unqualified to accomplish se for Mazda service. My personal experience results in my opinion that Ourisman Mazda service department staff are either unqualified to accomplish service, that they are dishonest, or perhaps both. My Check Engine Light on my RX-8 illuminated. I called Ourisman Mazda and was told that the diagnostic test would take around one-hour. I took my RX-8 to Ourisman Mazda and the diagnostic test was performed very quickly and far shorter than the one-hour period that I was advised that it would take to complete the test. This shortened and abbreviated test made me think that the test did not allow for properly assessing the performance of the engine with the diagnostic software. I was informed that my RX-8 needed new spark plugs and rotors. This seemed unusual as the car had been driven less than 16,000 miles. I was informed that I needed to have approximately $800 in repairs including new plugs and rotors as soon as possible or I risked damaging my engine. I took my RX-8 for a second diagnostic test to Russel Mazda in Ellicott City, Maryland. The technician completed the diagnostic test and identified that there was an infrequent misfire not indicating bad spark plugs and coils. Further examination revealed that on a previous oil change, oil had been spilled from the refilling port onto the sensor and air filter causing the Check Engine Light to illuminate. The technician at Russell Mazda cleaned the spilled oil and sensor and the Check Engine Light was reset. No further problems have occurred and the Check Engine Light has stayed off. It is important to note that Ourisman Mazda completed the prior oil change on my RX-8. I wrote a letter to Ourisman Mazda expressing my concern addressing the results of the diagnostic test that they performed. I received a phone message from Andy Cohen, Head of the Service Department. Despite repeated return calls to Mr. Cohen, I was never contacted by him. When I finally reached him, his stated that he did not call me as he was on vacation and taking training. Mr. Cohen told me he needed a copy of the service record from Russell Mazda to ensure his technicians were trained correctly. When I provided the copy to Mr. Cohen, he took no further action. While I advise you to avoid Ourisman Mazda, I highly recommend Russel Mazda. Russel Mazda Service Department representatives are very customer oriented and make the extra effort to ensure that the customer is pleased with their work. More
I would like to tell my story of attempting to buy a Hyundai from Ourisman Hyundai. I live in Virginia. I received a few quotes here in Virginia for a 2011 Hyndai Sonata SE. A friend of mine told Hyundai from Ourisman Hyundai. I live in Virginia. I received a few quotes here in Virginia for a 2011 Hyndai Sonata SE. A friend of mine told me she had bought hers from Maryland and I should try to get it there because what she bought it for was under what they had quoted me. I spent every night of the week calling up the different dealerships in Maryland asking who had what color and what they would sell theirs for. I did not want anything more than what my friend bought hers for. On Wednesday I talked with Ourisman Hyndai in Laurel, Maryland. At that time I had a quote from another dealership at the same price as what my friend paid. I talked to Eric Mangrum (not sure the spelling). I was very upfront and told him the price and asked if he could beat or match it and what colors he had. He told me he had 5 and he could beat the price I was quoted. I asked him to confirm the price. I said "out the door, after tax, title, and all fees". He put me on hold for a few minutes while he talked to his manager and told me the manager approved it. The next day, Thursday, I called again and talked to Carter Carson. Carter said I would be working with him. I told him the price that Eric Mangrum offered me and he said yes that if Eric said it then it was good. He called me back again later that evening at 7:30 pm. I asked him again at this point if he still had all 5 Sonata SE's with Navigation in the 5 different colors he had said. He said they were still there. I told him a second time that I wanted him to confirm the price because I did not want to drive from Virginia to Maryland unless everything was worked out up front. He talked to his manager a second time and said "the manager gave the green light." He also said this weekend they were having a deal where they were giving $2,000 on top of Kelly Blue Book to any new car sales. I asked if there were any stipulations and he said no. I drove several hours on Friday to get to the dealership. When I arrived he said that there were only 2 of the cars there and the others must have been sold. I questioned in my head how the cars were sold already if I had just called last night and they were there and now I was the first customer in the store the next morning. I test drove the car with Carter Carson and it took everything I had to be quiet. Carter is one of the most racist people I have ever met. After 20 minutes of him talking about Jews, Blacks, and Koreans he began to talk about women. He talked about things that I do not feel comfortable writing about in this email. I bit my tongue knowing that I would not have to ever hear from him again. I was going to buy the car and go home. When I got to his office I pulled out my pad. I showed him the number he had quoted me how much kelly blue book was and the promotional deal that he said. He told me that his manager was not going to approve it. I told him that his manager had already approved it over the phone. The manager came and sat down. He said he didn't want to "xxxxxxxx me", but the price was too low. I told him that was the price I was given. He asked my who and I told him Eric Mangrum and Carter Carson and their managers. He simply said no. I told him of the other dealership I had talked to and the price they quoted me. He told me he was not going to honor the price that was quoted over the phone. I asked him what he was offering and he told me he was not going to even give me a price because he believed I would go to the next dealership and tell them. He walked away and Carter Carson said he was sorry. I told him that he had lied to me. He told me that every Hyundai dealership was going to do the same thing. That is what they were trained to do. They would say anything they can to get you into the store. He said there was no point going anywhere else because they would do the same thing. He said Hyndai Dealerships lie. I told him that he had lied. He said "welcome to the car business." I walked out and he kept trying to get me to come back in the store. He said "give me a chance to earn your business. What do I have to do to sell this to you." I told him that he wouldn't even give me a price for it. How could I even buy a car without the price. This dealership is not to be trusted. They will lie and do whatever it takes to get you to look at the car then will lie more and try to intimidate you. Buyer Beware! More
I wanted to get the best price so I shopped around at the different dealerships. I went on their website, picked out a car and asked for a price quote. I received an email informing me that the vehicle was different dealerships. I went on their website, picked out a car and asked for a price quote. I received an email informing me that the vehicle was in stock, what the MSRP price was and what price they would sell the car to me. He then called me and we set up a time to meet. I drove all the way there and he did not honor the price. He kept showing me web sites of other dealerships and what prices they were offering. I informed him that I knew what the other dealerships were offering and I just wanted to know how much THEY were going to sell the vehicle for. He increased the price originally given to me by $2,000.00 and was still trying to add on more fees. I told him I was leaving and if he wanted me to consider his dealership to email me his final price. I never heard back from him. More
I am rating a past experience I had in April 2010. I wanted to buy a new Mazda and decided to go to Laurel because of the lifetime free oil changes and convenient location. It was a mistake, at least i wanted to buy a new Mazda and decided to go to Laurel because of the lifetime free oil changes and convenient location. It was a mistake, at least in terms of the way their front office is handled. I had a trade-in with some contingent value issues (if we could fix this, if we could trade this, etc.) and "because" of this they valued the trade-in lower and refused to discount the sticker price on the new car at all. I was led to sign all the paperwork that night on a promise that we could always amend it if circumstances changed in the next week. I balked a bit at signing something binding with an oral promise to change it later, and mentioned something about coming back the next day instead. Shaun literally stood up, raised his voice at me and stated if he'd known that, he wouldn't have stayed until 9pm and would have gone home - then he stormed out of the room. I was ready to leave, but Eli came into the office almost immediately and calmed me down. I exacted a verbal promise and a handshake to not submit any paperwork for a week. The paperwork was submitted the next day, as I found out when I tried to call and amend the GAP protection on my contract. There was nothing that could be done at that point. Regarding my tradein, Eli later accused me and my mother (who brought the tradein to the dealership) of lying about it. We were furious, and wanted to end our relationship with the dealership right then, but the paperwork was done (and don't get me wrong - I loved my new car). I attempted to meet with Shaun at least three times. He would state he would be at the dealership at a certain time, but never was actually there when I drove the extra hour from work to meet him. On my final visit, when this happened, I raised xxxx a bit, and Claudio played nice guy but could not help me or offer me any incentives to lessen the sting. (He also requested my friendship on Facebook later that day, which I found extremely unprofessional and kind of creepy.) Eli threw in a few free services as a token but would not give me any services worth more than $200 (i.e. he picked and chose among the essential first year services and refused me the in-depth ones and gave me the cheap ones.) Plus, the entire time he tried to argue with me and convince me how the dealership was helping me out by taking a "worthless car" (tradein) off of my hands that "they couldn't make money on." My tradein was in Alabama by three days after the sale, because I called to try and locate some CD's I'd left in the changer. I'll bet a nickel it was refurbished at dealer cost and resold at a large profit. This was my very first experience buying a new car, and I am young and female. I felt threatened, manipulated, bullied, and cheated long after the deal was done. Like I said, I loved the car I bought (and I cannot say enough POSITIVE things about the back office - the service shop - especially James!). However I will NEVER return to this dealership again to buy a car. I think these front-office guys smelled blood and completely took advantage of my naivete. Even if I didn't do all the right things strategically, I never should have felt as pressured and threatened as I did. As far as I'm concerned, they got the deal they wanted so badly, but they lost any respect I have for them, my business, and the business of anyone else I speak to. More

Noticed a noise develop after the repair and ha pressure plate. To replace the clutch the subframe front axles and transmission had to be removed. Noticed a noise develop after the repair and had my car inspected at a different dealer. The passenger side axle nut was stripped and falling off due to improper installation. The only time the axle was removed from the car was at Ourisman Mazda for the clutch repair. Returned to Ourisman Mazda and the car was inspected by the service director Andy. He stated there was no way his tech could have installed the axle nut wrong and would not cover the repair. The GM of the dealership accused me of doing the damage when I swapped winter wheels/tires for summer wheels/tires. This even though the axle nut is not touched in removing/reinstalling a wheel/tire. In the end the dealership should be liable for replacement of the damaged axle. Keep away from Ourisman MAzda f you may suffer the same fat from shoddy workmanship. More
I dealt with Preston in the internet sales department and he was very friendly and professional. I felt like we ended up with a fair price, and he was up front and honest about all pricing during the haggli he was very friendly and professional. I felt like we ended up with a fair price, and he was up front and honest about all pricing during the haggling stage of the transaction. However, the financing department was a different experience, they were pushy and deceitful. I was told that they offered an extended warranty from Mazda, so I agreed to sign up and think about it. When I got home I researched the extended warranty and found out it was a 3rd party warranty, not a Mazda warranty. I had asked the person in the finance department (Claudio) three times if it was offered by Mazda. I was skeptical because the name, "Fidelity warranty serice", not Mazda, was on the paper work. Bottom line: I would recommend this dealership and working with Preston. However, when it comes to financing and the extended warranty the people working there are misleading, if not outright dishonest. Put up your guard and do any research before hand. Type in "Fidelity warranty complaints" in google and you will see a whole host of complaints, this warranty is NOT the same as a OEM Mazda extended warranty. Dealers make a lot of money on them, so they push hard to sell you this. Also, they will claim canceling is easy, but do not believe. I have been trying to cancel since the second day I bought the car and have been so far unsuccessful. I will just drop the car off and buy somewhere else if they refuse to honor the 30 day cancellation policy. More
