Purchased a vehicle in Dec 2020, they were cool until I left the dealership and no one could remember the deal… as they said they could not find the file. I am still in shock at the experience I had today with Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie. I came into the store to test drive a specific vehicle that was confirmed to be on the lot. We are adopting a puppy this Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie. I came into the store to test drive a specific vehicle that was confirmed to be on the lot. We are adopting a puppy this week and have family arriving in town so I explained that I only had a short time to test drive the vehicle but would be more than happy to secure the car with a deposit until I could pick it up on Monday - something that was ok’d over the phone. Upon arrival to the store, I test drove the car and determined I would like to move forward with the deal but wanted a little help with the pricing of the vehicle. The salesperson then asked for some details including what sounded like the start of the credit application. I said that I would provide that information as long as they did not pull my credit report until we came to an agreement on pricing. The salesman confirmed and went to talk to management. 30 SECONDS LATER my credit gets pinged and an alert sent to my phone. I went straight to the sales person and the sales manager to talk pricing and say that I had SPECIFICALLY asked for them to not pull my credit until we came to an agreement. At this moment, they said it would only be possible for me to secure the car if I bought it in that moment because a “cash buyer” was supposedly on his way to the dealership. I replied that I would be happy to sign whatever paperwork that they needed BUT I would not want to submit my down payment and take the vehicle until Monday. They then asked to have me sign a contract for the full purchase with no money down. Which I specifically mentioned to them that I did not want to do this because I already knew I would need some money down to get the approval I wanted. They said that unless I signed the contract for the full amount (no down payment and at a higher rate than what I was already approved for) then they would sell the car to anyone else. At this point, I left the store frustrated but assumed this was part of their “game.” An hour later I called to see if they could still try to work with me because their phantom “cash buyer” had still not collected the car. Obviously, this was a ploy to apply pressure on me to buy the car in that moment. Through this conversation, the salesperson said there was nothing he could do and that he was sorry my credit was not good enough for the car. Mind you I had a pre-approval in hand. I ended the conversation at that point and have subsequently bought the same vehicle at Millenium Hyundai this evening over the phone. Oh and surprise surprise… a deposit was just fine. Oh and other surprise, HALF the adjustment as they asked. I should note that I actually work as a Sales Consultant for a major luxury retailer and was easy going through the entire process until the run around started. The fact that this store uses juvenile sales tactics from 1989 is shocking and anyone that is not a professional negotiator should not come to this facility. There are many other wonderful stores (I.e. Hyundai of Rockville Millenium Hyundai, Alexandria, etc) that will serve you far better. One final note, the store was in major disarray. The furniture looked 20 years old and incredibly messy. I really hope that this store cleans up their act and modernizes their sales procedure. From the beginning, I acknowledged that I was OK with the market overages but just wanted an easy/fair experience. This was the opposite. Do. Not. Come. To. This. Store. PS (again) dealerships are required to have a signed credit application to pul your credit. Simply asking for the information is not consent and is illegal. More

THE YOUNG LADY SHAVON WAS VERY HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! AND POLITE. I SPENT OVER $4000, IN THE PAST MONTH GETTING MY CAR SERVICE UP TO DATE. BUT I'M NOT NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE. FIRST WENT TO GET IN MY POLITE. I SPENT OVER $4000, IN THE PAST MONTH GETTING MY CAR SERVICE UP TO DATE. BUT I'M NOT NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE. FIRST WENT TO GET IN MY CAR AND THE PLASTIC WAS STILL ON MY SEATS. NO CAR WASH....... AND THE VERY NEXT DAY MY TRUNK IS NOT OPENING FROM THE INSIDE OR MY SMART KEY WITHOUT USING MY KEY. MY ALIGNMENT IS STILL PULLING TO THE SIDE AND THIS MORING WHEN TO OPEN THE HOOD OF THE CAR AND THE LATCH IS NOT STAYING OPEN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THOSE THINGS WERE WORKING BEFORE I CAME TO THE SHOP. KINDA DISAPPOINTED. BUT I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT OF FRIDAYS. I'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. More
Even though it was very busy when I dropped my car off Shavon kept me updated the entire time. Had to order the part which meant coming back. I was pretty sure that would be the case. She told me it would take awhile, and better to leave the car. I did. While dropping it off I found a tear in the rubber gasket around the door. Without hesitation she said, “We’ll take care of it.” When I came to pick it up they were super busy. My car is brought up and Shavon is driving. She didn’t want me to wait any longer. She is awesome. More
