Be careful about an "out the door" price After negotiating the price I was willing to pay I headed down to the finance department. They didn't even realize I had a trade-in, so all the paperwork had to be re-accomplished. I did notice that the tax being charged didn't seem correct, but thought that the dealership knew more than I did about tax laws and how to complete title/registration since they do charge quite a bit to do it. 2 weeks later I received a phone call that I owed $475 dollars more for taxes and they wouldn't title/register the vehicle until I paid. I talked to the manager to try and explain that the "out the door" price was negotiated to avoid this very thing, He insisted that it wasn't their problem and I could return the vehicle and pick up the one I traded in, but I would owe $1,800 for the work they put into my traded car. The 2011 vehicle I purchased hadn't even had an oil change, so I sincerely doubt they put that amount into my trade. Overall, I don't think the inaccurate pricing was intentional, rather incompetence. The unwillingness of the manager to see any fault in their process was frustrating. #check your paperwork! More
AWESOME! No Pressure...See Cleo! Decided right before New Year to buy a new car. I knew exactly what I wanted after using the 'Build & Price' feature from Ford's website. Test drove same model (not all the options) at a local dealer here in Leesburg to ensure it was the car we wanted. Again, using Ford's website I search using the Extended Inventory feature for the EXACT model. Found 2 or 3 within 50 miles or so. Contacted Battlefield Ford through USAA car buying service using the Truecar price certificate. Received email from Cleo within minutes. After a few emails back and forth negotiating the price I was sold. Price ended up being LESS than the Truecar price. I was happy with the price and made my way to the dealership. Met Cleo once at the dealership and the entire process was pain and hassle free. No sales pressure, no trying to up sale. Was at the dealer for maybe an hour and half to fill out and submit the paperwork. Cleo was absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Next purchase will definitely be from Cleo and Battlefield Ford. Also like to comment that the finance department was great. There was no pressure to buy an extended warranty, paint protection maintenance plan etc. Once i said NO the first time that was it. There was no 'Are you sure?' Past experiences with other dealers has been the finance department almost guilts you into buying the extra items to protect your investment and brand new car. It's a personal choice BUT my experience, at least with Ford has been if you really want the extended warranty do your homework. You can buy the EXACT same ESP warranty from authorized dealers online for far less than the typical FIRST offer at the dealer...Negotiate! Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend Battlefield Ford and specifically Cleo. You cannot go wrong. Thanks Cleo, we are loving the car. We will be in touch for our next vehicle. More

UPDATE: After buying one F150, I decided to go back and trade a car that I was extremely upside down with. The battlefield team were very upfront about how bad the situation was. They appraised my car fairly (You know your not getting what you want) and we were upside down like I figured. The initial bank came back at an ridiculous rate because of the negative equity. We were all set to leave unhappy when Kathleen went out of her way and call the bank that had extended a loan the day prior and said "Hey, look they just bought a car yesterday 'what can you do?'. The bank came back with a rate half of what the first bank offered. Needless to say we walked out with another new F150. I've been to several new car dealerships in the area, one in particular let us leave with a car and 30 days later called us to return it because they screwed up the financing. Battlefield is as good as your going to get. Casey our salesman was top notch, never gave up, and always made us feel like we were top priority. Give them a shot but be realistic about what your expectations are, we had fair/good credit with negative equity in our vehicles, be realistic that your going to have to give to get.. Battlefield, Thank you for reinstating my faith in car dealerships. More

BEST EVER EXPERIENCE BUYING A NEW CAR!!! WOW! Knowing that I was moving back to the US, I wanted a new car ready and waiting for me. I contacted numerous Ford dealers in Northern Virginia, WOW! Knowing that I was moving back to the US, I wanted a new car ready and waiting for me. I contacted numerous Ford dealers in Northern Virginia, and only one listened to what I wanted (I was very specific and very detailed!), kept in touch with me on a daily basis, and tirelessly answered ALL my questions: Cleo van Zelst. Not only was she incredibly courteous and professional, she went the extra 100+ miles (literally!), and drove to Pittsburgh to go and pick up my brandnew car! Cleo has restored my faith in that species of historically bad-and-we-don't-really-care-about-our-customer cardealer agents that I have had the misfortune to deal with in the past. No resolution to my a/c issue then warranty runs out I took my 2010 Escape Hybrid in to Battlefield three times because the air conditioning is not working correctly. Also the front left tire makes a squeak sound when I turn left. After the third time I took it to Falls Church where they also did not fix either problem. Both claim they can find nothing wrong, but my car pool passengers know it doesn't work right, and my MPG which is normally at 36 in the summer is only at 33. Then I hit 100,000 miles and I am out of warranty. I will not be getting another Ford. Mark W. More
