Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Service Department is a scam. You walk in for a $25.00 oil change and complimentary brake inspection and they then advise you of the need for $500.00 worth of work. Mind yo scam. You walk in for a $25.00 oil change and complimentary brake inspection and they then advise you of the need for $500.00 worth of work. Mind you, they did not check the service records for the vehicle to see if the work had been done previously or was even warranted. They even tried to charge me for the complimentary brake inspection. I was warned that I was damaging the vehicle by not doing what they instructed. I would rather learn to do the service myself, which would be difficult considering I am handicapped, then let them work on my vehicle. The store doesn't even have an in-house manager to complain to. The consumer is then scared to operate the vehicle or left to do unwarranted service and be robbed. More
Thompson was my last stop of the day for my new truck shopping, I was approached by Mr. Ed Langmead. I found Ed to be very professional and friendly with the ability to listen. AWESOME!!!! This was the best car purchase yet. Very low keyed, low pressure deal, EVER! They did not have it in stock after the the big 4th of July sale but found the car we wanted, with all the options m keyed, low pressure deal, EVER! I have dealt with Jim Dinges since 2008 when I bought a 2008 Charger Daytona. Since then we have developed a great customer / salesman relationship. What's interesting is throughout the years there has never been any pressure from him or anyone currently working at the dealership to purchase a new vehicle (and I have been through 3 in a short time). Chip Baughman has always taken great care of me whenever I came in for service (which is key for me deciding whether or not to continue giving Thompson's my business). One of my most recent visits was to get my 2011 Challenger RT serviced due to a recall for the door handle sensors. While there I fell in love with a 2012 Challenger SRT. Jim was off that day so Ray helped me test drive the SRT. When we returned I decided to see what could be worked out if I decided to upgrade to the SRT. I don't know if it was bad luck or just a sign, but my RT was backed into by a customer leaving and they took off leaving the scene. We later found out it was probably because the vehicle had the wrong or stolen tags on it. I ended up purchasing the SRT. Jim and Herb worked hard to get within my comfort range to make the deal a win win. Having worked retail sales before I like Jim's passion of not wanting to just sell me a car, but to sell me every car I ever decide to purchase. That takes a lot of effort and customer support. That is true "Customer Obsession" and it builds long term relationships. I also want to give special thanks to Herb and Ray. They both went that extra mile to help me. More

Very straight forward transaction, I was looking for a vehicle and Thompson's had one that fit what I was looking for. The personnel I dealt with were pleasant, gave me facts when I asked questions. I received an email for I had bought. The first thing I noticed about the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara was it was under priced from the NADA and Kelly Blue Book value. I got it for $15,700. NADA and Kelly B noticed about the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara was it was under priced from the NADA and Kelly Blue Book value. I got it for $15,700. NADA and Kelly Blue book both had the vehicle valued at about $19,000-$20,000. So I emailed Mr. Schofield and told him my particular situation. I had a 2008 Scion TC. NADA and Kelly Blue Book value for that vehicle was $11,500 in the condition it was in. I had no money down and was looking for a good interest rate. I honestly though I was going to get a response back that would be along the lines of "sorry, but we won't be able to get in your price range." I sent Mr. Schofield about 20 pictures of my Scion and did a credit application. Mr. Schofield was able to give me $12,600 for my vehicle and got a great interest rate. Not only did he get the vehicle in my target price range, but I also got a warranty and GAP insurance. While keeping it in my price range. Not to mention he lowered the price of the Jeep too. Keep in mind this was all done by email. Until I went into the store I didn't even know what Mr. Schofield looked or sounded like. He was very timely in responding back to my emails and answered every question I had. Approximately three days later we made the hour and 20 minutes drive up to Edgewood MD. The second we get there we are greeted by Mr. Langmead and Mr. Schofield. They had the Jeep out waiting for us and was ready to be test droven. After spending about an half hour looking over the vehicle I took it for a test drive for about 20 minutes and was very pleased. We got back to the dealership and sat in Mr. Langmeads office. Signed a couple of forms and was told we are going to have to wait for the financial adviser. In the past we usually had waited a long time, but approximately two minutes later we were back going over the paper work. I wish I remember the financial advisers name, but forgot it because he was just as nice as everyone else. We could find a baby sitter and had to bring our four year daughter to the dealership and everyone was very friendly to her and was joking with her to keep her occupied. Approximately two hours later, I was driving home in my new Jeep. I have bought four vehicle's in the past two years and everyone at the dealership has asked me to go online and review the dealership. This has been the only dealership that I have done this so far and there is a reason for that. This by far has been the best experience from start to end when it comes to buying a vehicle. Everyone was very nice and polite to us and made us feel like we were the only people there buying a vehicle. I would highly recommend anyone to buy there next vehicle from here. The reason why I only emailed Mr. Schofield in the beginning was because my past experiences with car salesman was that they tell you what you want to hear just to get you into the dealership. Once you get there they tell you something completely different. This WAS NOT the case with Thompson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. Mr. Schofield was direct to the point and provided me with great information. If I ever decided to upgrade my Jeep it will 100% be at this dealership. More
I would have to say my overall experience with Thompson has been great. I went there on a Monday to check out a Chrysler 200 S. They were knowledgeable about the vehicle. They let me take ffor a test drive to show the wife. Came back and was not ready to buy. Too be honest wife was a little mad. So I took the car back and let them know I really couldn't do anything with the car yet. A couple of days later I received a call from Rick. He was real nice and asked if I was still interested in the car. I politely told him no. He let it go. I called him back later that day and told him I will be up to talk about numbers. I first contacted my bank for auto loan approval thinking I could get a better rate with them. I arrived at the dealership later on and did some paper work. To my surprise the dealership was able to get me a much better rate. Which in the end is what got me to buy the 200. I rated everything but Quality of work a 5. This is because I still do not know who did my finace paperwork. It seemed like he was in a hurry. Also the vehicle could have been cleaned alot better. I will most definately recommend Thompson to my friends. More
