I visited Ourisman Chantilly Kia on Aug 12, 2012 and traded in my 2005 Jeep for a used 2011 GMC. During the time of purchase, it was explained to me I had to pay a non-negotiable $389 “processing fee f traded in my 2005 Jeep for a used 2011 GMC. During the time of purchase, it was explained to me I had to pay a non-negotiable $389 “processing fee for consumer services” which covered Ourisman Chantilly Kia (Ourisman Chantilly Kia) processing the taxing, titling and license plates tied to each vehicle. There was confusion on the part of Ourisman Chantilly Kia’s Business Manager (BM) because I wanted to register the vehicle in West Virginia (at the time, I had dual-residency) because they didn’t commonly register vehicles in WV and were unfamiliar with the process. Regardless, I paid all fees associated with a WV registration. When I left, the BM was to follow up with me on my vehicle registration so I could be assured things were being processed as required. After three weeks, I hadn’t heard from the BM nor did he return any of my numerous phone calls. As it happened, I ended up selling my home in WV and, because my car still hadn’t been registered in WV (and my temporary VA license plates were due to expire in another week), I decided it might be easier for us to register the vehicle in VA. Approx Sep 1-2, I called Ourisman Chantilly Kia and spoke with a manager who was able to get the BM to finally return my call. The BM informed me I would likely be receiving a small refund because of the difference in sales tax but he would get me specifics when I came in to sign the VA Title application. When I went back to Ourisman Chantilly Kia (approx Sep 8-9), the BM wasn’t there, so another person processed my transaction. He told me I actually owed the dealership approx $20. We both agreed, because of the circumstances, they would cover the difference. On approx Oct 10, I received a call from an Ourisman Chantilly Kia Tax and Titling Clerk (TTC). Over the course of a few conversations, she explained they hadn’t received the title for the Jeep yet. I told the TTC the vehicle had a lien held by Suntrust Bank which was discussed and validated at the time of purchase and I recently received a letter from Suntrust Bank letting me know the balance had been paid (as agreed during the trade). I was then asked to contact Suntrust Bank to see if I could acquire the title and then send it to Ourisman Chantilly Kia. Between conversations, I also learned from my new lender they hadn’t received the titling info for the GMC. I was told if the titling info wasn’t received by my lender within 60 days from the date of purchase (Aug 12), I was at risk of having my loan changed from an auto loan to a personal loan (with a 12-20% rate increase). When I brought this up, the TTC told me my titling info was processed on Oct 3 with WV! After explaining why this was incorrect (and unauthorized), the TTC informed me the BM told her he had spoken with me and I approved the registration of the GMC in WV; I hadn’t spoken with the BM since Sep 5 and, at that time, it was crystal clear my vehicle was to be registered in VA. Worse still, I discovered the registration I was given for the vehicle had expired on Sep 30, 2012; meaning my car didn’t even appear to be legal to operate on the roadways. After conveying the critical nature of the situation, the TTC was able to coax the BM into calling me back. The BM explained to me because the cost difference of registering my vehicle in VA was actually $50, he (unilaterally) processed my registration in WV. At that point, the BM and I agreed he would retrieve the paperwork (from WV) and process my registration with the VA DMV by the close of business on Oct 12. As part of this plan, the BM was to call and update me throughout the process. The BM didn’t contact me again. Over the next two days, OKC continued to commit to calling me back with updates and they continually failed. In our last discussion, I asked the BM to have the GM call me after this was resolved. Again, I received no phone call and, even after I sent an email to the BM, never received confirmation the registration had been processed (as agreed). On Monday, Oct 15, (65 days from my purchase and almost 40 days from Ourisman Chantilly Kia “registering my vehicle in VA”) I called my lender who confirmed the titling info had been processed. Ourisman Chantilly Kia failed to deliver services, follow through with oral and written promises and misused my personal info. I was required to pay a substantial fee to have the hassle of processing my taxes, titling and license plates handled (in a timely manner). However I still spent countless hours to manage the process and chase down a VERY unresponsive Ourisman Chantilly Kia. I had a vehicle which wasn’t legal to drive because of Ourisman Chantilly Kia’s decision to unethically/improperly register the new vehicle to a state in which I was no longer living. Update: I found out last week that my info is incorrect with VA DMV (I am listed as having a WV address). The saga continues… More

I have recently (8/22)purchased a car(Leased) at OURISMAN Chantilly Kia. My new 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid is sporty,fun, and classy all in one. I love it. I have been driving a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and have been thinking about all the $$$ I spend on gas each month, and with out any question My Kia Hybrid is the way to go. I kept telling my husband, "I could buy a new car and pay for it with the money I spend on gas each month". He would just look at me and say "Yea! You just want want a new car". As I previously mentioned I have been driving a Gas Guzzler, a V-8. I have owned MY kia Optima Hybrid now for 2.5 weeks and just went to fill my gas tank today. I had over 530 miles, 1/16 of a tank left, 90% city driving and it will get even better mpg after it is broken in, and driving more highway. How does that rate? For me a 10. So ask me how I chose Ourisman Chantilly Kia. Truthfully I had a difficult time at first choosing another make of car besides Toyota, I have owned 3 Toyota's before my Kia. I actually drove a Hybrid Camry, the day I purchased My Kia Optima Hybrid. Yes, it was nice, But not as nice as My Optima. Just take a look at all the cars out there, they all look the same, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more. The day I purchased my Kia Optima Hybrid was not planned. My husband was looking for a new car and had been searching the internet and talking with different dealers in Md and Va. After my husband had driven a 2013 Optima in Maryland near our home, he loved it and said, this is what I want now,I just have to find the dealer that will give me a fair price and great service. So after visiting a few dealers, we decided to drive from southern Maryland to Chantilly, Va. Yes, our neighbor thought we were crazy, but we both knew that OURISMAN had stood behind their word, as we had purchased our other vehicle from an OURISMAN dealer back in 2001. My husband had already been talking on the phone with a couple of sales people Patrick and Jeff. They both were very knowledgeable and were very prompt at returning phone calls. As we visited the dealer that night, my husband purchased a 2013 SXL Kia Optima, Black, yea it's hot! As I was walking in the showroom that evening, I starting asking questions about leasing. Mr. Chris Bell the manager and Patrick Garland actually took the time to explain the process and how leasing works. I had been to other dealers, but no one had actually explained how it works. It finally made more sense. Letting me know all the options with leasing I began to look at the Kia Optima Hybrid. What impressed me at that time was that a manager actually sat down and took the time to explain. Most dealers you are just dealing with the sales people and they are running back and forth to the manager. They worked more as a team and made sure I understood how leasing worked. Mr Patrick Garland was very knowledgeable and kind at showing me the hybrid. He was never pushy at making a decision right away. As a matter of fact, he said you have to really love it and want it before you buy it. That first night I was not sure, because my husband was purchasing his car. That same night Patrick set up a loaner car to take home, I was able to drive a Kia Optima Hybrid around for a while. As we came back the next day, I spoke with Mr. Patrick and Mr. Chris Bell again, they made it possible and worked with my budget to take home my new Kia Optima hybrid, fully loaded. In the whole process filling out the paper work with Ms. Silvia Aviles, finance person. She was so kind and answered a few questions. They were a Great Team. As I close on my review, I have to add that my husband had a great team also. Mr. Altman Tsang, in finance acknowledged my husbands time in the military and I could see that respect. Ourisman Kia Chantilly was able to offer me the best price on the car I wanted and was very accomodating in making the transaction as smoothe and convenient as possible for me. Although I live in falls price on the car I wanted and was very accomodating in making the transaction as smoothe and convenient as possible for me. Although I live in falls church and its approximately 15 miles to get to Kia Chantilly for my service etc. I still decided it would be worth it because of the service and best accross the board price they offered me compared to any other Kia dealership in the area. I was in the market to purchase a new vehicle and narrowed my choices down to two, the KIA 2013 Optima SXL and another make/model. After researching and test driving both cars I was extremely impressed with the drive, style, features and affordability of the 2013 Optima SXL. Through a third party internet research website I polled six area KIA dealerships for their on-the-road price for the KIA Optima SXL that included all the options and features I wanted. Ourisman Chantilly KIA’s Internet Sales representative Patrick Garland contacted me the same day and was very responsive and knowledgeable on any question I had regarding the options/prices of the Optima SXL and ensured me the Ourisman price would be hard to beat. After contacting the other dealerships multiple times …he was right! Having had a positive experience with an Ourisman dealership in the past, most notably their outstanding Service Dept., I decided the hour plus drive from Southern MD to Chantilly, would be a worthwhile one. I contacted and pre-arranged to meet with my sales representative Jeff Hoyt who was super personable, knowledgeable and ensured the on-the-road price I received for the Optima XLS couldn’t be beat!! Jeff relayed that my SXL had just rolled off the truck and after some preps I’d be able to pick it up the following day. He then introduced me to Altman Tsang of the Finance Dept. Altman was also very knowledgeable and painlessly worked though the outstanding preservation/bumper to bumper warranty extension and financing, which also included a couple nice rebates! Now while I’m working to purchase my Optima SXL, my wife is commenting on how much she liked the Optima EX Hybrid. She has her own review. Short story is we’re now a two Optima family ….and really, what can I say ….except she has great taste!! Patrick, Jeff and Altman, I want to say Thanks for truly making the purchase of this OUTSANDING vehicle a pleasurable one!!! This car’s a “Head Turner”! I’ve been on the road now for a week and there’s no doubt in my mind, and others who see it, that my KIA Optima SXL purchase from Ourisman Chantilly KIA was the right one!!
