William - We strive to provide the fairest and most competitive pricing possible, and we're disappointed to see you feel that you were taken advantage of as we certainly never want any customer of ours to leave with the impression that they were misled. However, the details you've shared here do not reflect the true nature of your trade-in. While the trade-in value for your vehicle is $4,000 on average, your car required at least that much in repairs as we needed to replace two tires, the AC compressor, and complete repainting work on the hood scoop before it was eligible for resale. We offered you $2,000 despite the work it needed, in recognition of your loyal business with us in the past. The $8,995 sticker price your restored vehicle is listed at is not the amount we expect to receive for it during the sale, merely the base price. We are sorry to see you're distressed about this and we would like a chance to talk with you about this to rectify the situation. Dear Mr. Simoni, thank you so much for taking the time to respond. That does mean a lot. Clearly then there is a huge breakdown in communication as none of what you relayed and echoed by your Trade-in Manage, was ever brought up or mentioned on the two occasions the car was inspected. As far as I knew the car was in perfect running condition with only minor cosmetic issues. This impression was reinforced by the fact I had just had the car serviced as well as the long history I have with your garage where I have spent $14, 154.90 From 24th of March 2017 right up to 22 June 2021. SO the fact the car needed any work is of a complete surprise to me. A new Set of Run flats were fitted Sep 2018 and have at least a 50,000 mile life on them, considering I have not done close to 30,000 miles in that time the call to change the tires is also not understood. I do wonder then when all this work and cost was known by Orlando Mini, if it was before the sale then it should have been communicated to rationalize the price. If it was found after the sale, which I suspect it was, then that is still no excuse for offering me half the Blue Book value as a retrospective justification. I will see if I can make time to call to see if, as the constant stream of email would suggest, you actually value me as a customer. I am concerned, to this point they are only words.
