Everything Perfect except for the Cleaning of the car. We worked with Jim Cline. We had never met him before yet he greeted us at the door and called us by our name. We drove three cars, two of which wer We worked with Jim Cline. We had never met him before yet he greeted us at the door and called us by our name. We drove three cars, two of which were more expensive than the one we came in to see. Yet we did not feel like we were being up-sold. Jim made it clear that he wanted us to drive other similar cars and specifically noted he had no preference of one over the other. We finally asked about a car that was on the web site but was not priced. Jim got us the price. The rest is history. After a brief negotiation of the value of our trade, we came to terms and we bought the car. EASY and without a hint of pressure. The financing person, Casey, was equally easy to work with. This was Friday and we were asked to leave the car until Monday since it had just arrived and had not been checked out mechanically and had not been cleaned. No problem. This is an area I think needs a little attention. Keeping in mind that I am very particular about the cleanliness of my car, this car did not spend much time being cleaned. I suppose it was washed and vacuumed but even the wheels had brake dust on them upon delivery. When we got it home I looked through the car. First I found what looked to be dried spray from a shook can of coke on the valet cover frame and cover. There was something spilled on the back seat that was dried and had the consistency of, say, a spilled milk shake. The leather had not been cleaned and traces of the "coke" was present on the console, though only the margins between material had any build up. The door panels were not cleaned either. Keeping in mind that I am picky about these things and how they are done, I will spend the several hours it will take to get things cleaned my way. Keep in mind that I would have done this anyway, had the the car been properly cleaned. But I thought you should know my findings. The last item was the mechanical inspection. I had what looked like a nail in a tire that showed just by chance in our garage. I took the car back and the service department handled it in a timely manner, about one + hours. As it turned out the nail (screw) was not through the tire but rather was just stuck between the tread. No harm no foul. But you would think the most basic mechanical inspection would have included a tire inspection? Sorry for the lengthy detail, but we thought you would like to know. All this being said, Olathe Ford will remain on our primary radar regarding any future auto purchases. More
