Would give no star if I can They keep forcing you to do credit check and get personal information from you. I wish I can give a 0 star if I can. I have never purchased a car from They keep forcing you to do credit check and get personal information from you. I wish I can give a 0 star if I can. I have never purchased a car from Ocean Subaru and bought with another dealer. but I've been receiving numerous mails/emails that seem to indicate I had bought a car with Ocean Subaru. It has been hectic trying to figure out what was going on. The sales rep were very aggressive in forcing you to do a credit check and right now I am still in the process of understanding why I continue to receive mails/emails that claim I have a bought a car from here. Inisited on credit check eventhough paying cash My girlfriend and I were in the market for a 2019 WRX Premium 6MT. We were in contact with Ocean Subaru of Fullerton (OSF) in regards to pricing. On My girlfriend and I were in the market for a 2019 WRX Premium 6MT. We were in contact with Ocean Subaru of Fullerton (OSF) in regards to pricing. On our way to to run some errands in the OC, we stopped by OSF to check out the car. Josh Teets was our salesperson and he was able to get good pricing on the car before TTL. We decieded to pull the trigger on it since it was a good price before TTL. My plan was to pay $3k on my credit card (to get points) and my girlfriend would pay personal check. Josh instructed us that we BOTH needed to fill out a form online. I looked at the form and it was a credit app. I told him we're not filling that out since it's a hard credit pull and we already have funding. He said I needed to fill out that form to verify it's me. I found that odd, since I can walk into Best Buy and pay for a $7k TV on my credit card and i dont't to fill out any forms with my SSN to "verify it's me". Josh says he won't take my credit card, but will take her personal check, but she still needs to fill out the form. We refuse again. He tells us it's for OFAC verification (if you don't know what that is check out articles by Bankrate). Next he says he needs our SSN for the DMV registration, also WRONG. Another round of back and fourth and we agree to go to finance and bring a cashier's check in 3 days for his protection and ours (sure, ok fair enough). We get to finance and the price of the car is different then what Josh and I agreed upon. The finance guy also says that price should be finanzled in your loan app. I told him we're not filling out a loan app. We walk out of there and Josh comes to my car in the street and i told him he's wasting my time. I asked him bluntly, "What is the amount you need OTD to buy this car with cashier's check?". He replies frustrated and has to go back inside "check if this deal is worth it anymore". We leave. I went to Subaru Pacific and they glady took my credit card, girlfriend's cashiers check and without any sort of credit check or to "verify it's us". ALL we provided was ID. We were in/out of the dealer in 90min. No drama. Know your rights when you buy a car. More
Ocean Subaru/Renick are liars and thieves I drove 50 miles one way for a deal approved and confirmed in writing by sales manager Tony Navarro and finance manager too. Spending three hours at t I drove 50 miles one way for a deal approved and confirmed in writing by sales manager Tony Navarro and finance manager too. Spending three hours at the dealership, having them run my credit, getting ready to sign papers and leave with the promised, already negotiated, and confirmed, car, the GM (a rude xxxxxxx) comes in and says he won't make this deal happen because they would be losing money on it. I was like what?! I spent a day on the phone with them back and forth with things, they agreed to the transaction, confirmed in writing the terms of the lease, told me to come get the car, on 12/31 I drove there only to be harassed by the GM. I asked him to fill up my car with gas for all the crap he put me through and having me spend 100 miles on the round trip and he said no and just walked away. Not even apologizing or sorry for the crap they put me through on New Year's Eve. What a xxx! Avoid this dealership at all cost. More

I left my car for almost 3 full days (I made an appointment days earlier so it wouldn't take as long) with the check engine light on. On the third day I was informed that they had not even gotten to read the code yet (takes 5 minutes). There was no offer of a loner car or a determination of when the car would be diagnosed let alone repaired. This was the second chance as I had a similar experience about 1 year ago when I brought the car in for the same check engine light on. I had to go back 3-4 times as it was fixed after being misdiagnosed 3 times. It turned out the part needing fixed was under warranty and I had to fight them for months to get my money back (they did refund all my money)! Definitely not worth the time wasted, days out of work and effort I had to put in to have it done properly!!! More

That has all changed now with the retirement of their Parts manager and their best online mechanics... So read this, then go on to read the disappointment. I suggest avoiding this dealership for any service in the future. There a fantastic mechanics that are honest at your local repair shop. Read the reviews, most of the independents have been forced out of the dealerships because they refused to pull and replace when a simple repair is usually all that is needed. It takes more skill to repair than to replace. I am a Subaru enthusiast for the unique qualities of their cars. I own more Subarus than I need, but not more than I want. My ownership years go from a 1969 Subaru 360 - 2009 Impreza 2.5i. If its a quirky model, I own one. Brat, Justy, XT6, SVX, FF-1 are the high notes. This place was tremendous in getting me my Cash for Clunkers rebate combined with an already low price, and dealership rebates as well. I was allowed to test drive my car without any proof of any income at all, and they let me get on the freeway. Their parts and service department is head and shoulders above all the others I have gone to that are closer or as close to my residence. They have gone out of their way to find me hard to get parts, and even honor internet prices in some circumstances. I fixed my SVX at a local transmission shop that I trusted. It took the guy a year to replace my transmission. He messed up the install and broke my radiator. Renick fixed the SVX in one week as well as replacing the bearings in a wheel that was screetching and new struts. This place has taken great care of my babies, and they will do the same for you. Best Subaru Dealership in LA Metro Area! That was before their Parts dept manager retired. Now a new edict has entered the Subaru dealerships... A customer is not allowed to speak with the mechanic if a customer has a question. The Service concierge must be the go between for all such conversations.? This is what we in communication know as the 'telephone game' and it is very hard to get just the facts from the telephone game because first copy is the best, and the more it gets relayed the more the message and jargon ansd syntax of the message gets changed. Also there is no follow up in this type of communication, so it just gets bounced back and forth without resolution. What if your doctor told you you cannot speak to them, only a desk nurse to find out what is wrong with you and what will be your treatment. You would naturally think there was something fishy going on. You should. Now I wouldnt shop at Renick Subaru and Cadillac unless it was the last place on earth. Seriously, these service people only care about writing out a work order for over $5000.00. Thats the goal, or their new incentives for the service concierge at the check in stands. It is widely known that the service manager of the month is only based on gross billing reciepts not actual reviews of their service. They are actually told to add any service, needed or not, to get to the $5000.00 per customer. They wont do proper diagnostics like a simple compression test, because as the Service concierge told me "thats a waste of time". Really, for whom? So their lead mechanic now goes on a hunch from a service desk concierge who thinks that it a waste of time to do a compression test to check for faulty valve or a damaged cylinder or a warped head? I told her it only took me ten minutes for all four cylinders when I did it, and thats why I dont think I need a new engine block for a car with barely 50,000 miles on it and a clanky valve. Apparently the Subaru Service at this location thinks that Subarus are really fragile cars with terrible safety and quality content ntrols during manufacturing. It leads a buyer to think that if the service department thinks that Subarus dont last more than even their warranty, why should the purchasers? They seem so sure of themselves, that maybe Subarus are junk now. Well you dont get any better word of mouth than the mechanics that work on them. More
I am an older person with a family and a very respectable professional profession. Credit is tier 1+, showed a proof of financial mean and multiple cars ownership. They wouldn't let me test drive.
