Consider this your warning, dealing with this dealership is a recipe for regret. Their dishonesty, lack of professionalism, and slimy tactics have caused me significant frustration and financial loss. Here is a recipe for regret. Their dishonesty, lack of professionalism, and slimy tactics have caused me significant frustration and financial loss. Here are just the highlights of my experience: 1- Deceptive Certification Process: I purchased a two-year-old Kia Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle but was never given a certification document. The salesperson assured me it wasn’t needed. Weeks later, a Kia Service Center informed me I should have received it. After returning to Northstar, I discovered they hadn’t certified the car at the time of purchase. They only certified it a month later, following my persistent demands. 2- Negligent Vehicle Inspection: The car had several issues, including noisy brakes and a lipstick stuck in a ventilation pipe, which caused loud noises. These were only fixed after I reported them. Another rattling noise from the driver’s door remained unfixed due to my exhaustion dealing with them. Selling a vehicle in such poor condition demonstrates their failure to perform even a basic pre-sale inspection—completely unacceptable for a car they claimed was CPO. 3- Extended Warranty Scam: I was pressured into purchasing a $2,500 extended warranty, despite the car already having a one-year bumper-to-bumper warranty as part of its CPO status. I only agreed to purchase it because the financial executive assured me I could cancel it after six months for a full refund. After a few weeks and some research, I realized I didn’t need to wait six months to cancel and decided to proceed earlier. Despite contacting the dealership multiple times via email and text, they ignored my requests. Frustrated, I visited in person and signed a cancellation form. Weeks passed without confirmation, and when I followed up, the financial executive claimed I needed to handle the cancellation myself, essentially denying the form I had signed with them. When I contacted the warranty company, I learned I was only eligible for a full refund if I canceled within 30 days—a term stated in the contract I had never seen. The dealership had only given me the first page of the contract, deliberately withholding the full terms to hide this key detail. Their deceit and delay tactics caused me a financial loss of $400 for an extended warranty that I didn't want and didn't use. 4- Additional Problems I’m Skipping for Brevity: They sold the car to me with a key fob missing the mechanical key. — The actual mileage on the car was 600 miles higher than what was stated in the contract. — They lowballed my trade-in car at $500, only to list it in their inventory for $10,000 a week later. Dishonest, deceitful, and unprofessional! This dealership checks all the wrong boxes. Save your time, money, and sanity by steering clear of them. More
