This is a very long review, and was a even longer buying process from this dealership and wouldn’t wish this experience on anyway. I made a call to North Park beginning of March looking for a 2022 Camry process from this dealership and wouldn’t wish this experience on anyway. I made a call to North Park beginning of March looking for a 2022 Camry XSE… I spoke to a sales rep Rene, and he said he had what I was looking for coming in on 3/21… We scheduled a time for me to come in before so I could do the financing and so on 3/12, I went in with my cousin to do that…when he printed up the numbers and dealer add on packages I asked if the zak tek and dealership tint could be removed to which he said nothing could be removed because those packages were how the dealership makes their money (I should have walked away at that moment). There was a car wash add on that was specific to that area (I am from Georgia) so I wouldn’t be able to use it and he reluctantly removed it. My cousin and him went back and forth about the zak tak and eventually Rene said he would see what he could do and came back less than a minute later and had it removed but said it wasn’t possible to remove the tint package. He said the tint would get added during the PDI and would only take a couple hours for the car to be ready. Rene then brings us to the finance waiting area where we wait a while for Eddie the finance guy to bring us back and we went over the numbers, he was friendly and made conversation, I signed all the paperwork, but he said it may need to be done again when the car arrived on 3/21. Fast forward to 3/21, it was mid-day and I hadn’t heard a word from Rene so I texted him and asked if my car was there…he texted and called saying he would go in the back to check and get right back with me… 3 hours pass and no word from him… he finally texted me a little over 3 hours later and said the car is there and they are getting it ready (PDI/tint) and says it would be ready by 6…it was supposed to storm that night so I told him I would come around 10 AM the next day to be safe…he said that would be fine… I arrived at North Park a little after 10 AM on 3/22 as I pulled in a saw a car that looked like mine but there was no tint so when I got to Rene’s desk I asked if it was ready and tinted and he assured me it was… he takes me to the car a few minutes later… and there was no tint on it…he says sons of xxxxxxx. let’s me see the car for a minute then takes the keys to take the car in the back to get tinted and I asked how long that would be…he said 45 minutes tops…I was pissed but had no time to stop him because he just took off… I went back inside and started waiting…while waiting I tried to make sure with Eddie all my finance was done and taken care of and he said it wasn’t and that I needed to resign everything but he wanted me to come back the next day to do that…it was a 40-45 minute drive from where I was staying to the dealership so I told him that and told him I had to wait there already for the tint and asked again if we could just get it done and he basically said no that I needed to come back… So at this point I was beyond annoyed… Rene knew I was coming that day and should have communicated that with finance… As I’m waiting for the tint to be finished Rene checked in a few times, first to say one half was done and the another time he said they were finishing up… it was going on 2 hours of me waiting (keep in mind, Rene told me 45 minutes top) and I find Rene to ask how much longer and he says its drying but he couldn’t really say how much longer since he wasn’t the tint guy… but yet he told me 45 minutes 2 hours ago…I asked him for some sort of compensation and told him how ridiculous this was and how I had to come back for paperwork the next day… he said sorry, he told me he yelled at the service tint guys for dropping the ball and told management about it but there wasn’t really anything he could for the trouble… he did go back and talk to Eddie and came back to me and said Eddie would do the paperwork now so I don’t have to come back. Well I get to Eddie’s office, and I can tell he’s pissed and doesn’t want to finish this paperwork... he barely said 2 words, wasn’t friendly and gave very little detail…he had told me the first day about a special phone number to call for an add on insurance package I added and he said he would give it to me at closing…and when I asked for it that day he just said it was on the paperwork…I literally wanted to walk out because of him and Rene…but I didn’t and it’s a huge regret. He didn’t ask for proof of insurance either which I thought was weird. The paperwork only took 5-10 minutes, I waited another 10-15 minutes after that for the tint to be done... At around 12:15 PM Rene finally says the car is done… I go to it and it’s filthy… inside and out… the dealership paper they lay down on the driver’s side floor was wrinkled, dirty and had holes from where I guess everyone else at the dealership was going in and out. There was dust all over, footprints on the back passenger seat, mud prints in the front seat doors... back seat and worst of all there was a huge grease mark on the driver’s side ceiling. I didn’t notice all of it until after I got home because I was beyond annoyed/pissed when I finally got to the car, I was just ready to leave there and never go back… Later that same evening I found a plastic bag in the arm rest console with 2 black anti rust plugs and on the bag it said the dealership should install it before customer leaves with car to prevent rust so I text Rene and asked if they forgot to install too and he said no the plugs are only needed if the car is in a flood… which made no sense since the bag said to install it to prevent rust… so I researched online and told him it should be installed and he replied saying their service department said they don’t install them and then he called me before I could reply…he continued to say the same thing but that if wanted to install it I could do it myself or that I could drive back there and he would do it himself, he made it seem like no big deal and honestly made me feel stupid that I was even questioning it…he literally said since I don’t live at the beach the plugs aren’t required… I just told him I would figure it out and hung up. I immediately called another local Toyota dealership (Universal Toyota) and spoke to their service department, and they said absolutely the plugs should have been installed during PDI’s and offered to check it and install for free if needed. (Just based on that short interaction, if you are looking for a Toyota use Universal, not North Park) The next day I found a razor blade under the passenger seat… (I assume from the tint guys). Keep in mind... this is a brand new 2022 vehicle fresh off the truck…so the razor blade had to come from the dealership… Later that day, on 3/23 I called North Park and asked for their service department because I wanted to ask about the plugs and the receptionist tried to connect me to Rene, but I told her I didn’t want to deal with him anymore... I was transferred to Hugo, who says he is the sales manager, and he wasn’t sure about the plugs but would find out and get back with me… Hugo calls me the next day 3/24 and he has me on a speaker with the service director (I think that was his title) and the director basically says yes the plugs should have been installed during PDI’s and says they have a box full of those plugs so what probably happened is that they left the new ones in my car and installed ones they had there… but he wanted to be sure and asked me to come back so they could check. I started to tell both Hugo and director guy how horrible of experience this has been, the lies Rene told me the night before, how the car was dirty, the razor blade (I didn’t get to mention how rude Eddie was)…so I told them I had no desire to waste half a day driving there and back for them just to see if they installed plugs that should have already been installed… so they offered to check the plugs, detail the car and fill the tank. But it still wasn’t worth it to me… all of that should have been done already and I really didn’t want to go back there and see/deal with Rene…Hugo said he understood and that I would be dealing with him only, and he wanted to make it right and he apologized. So, I told him I would think about it and get back to him. I believe it was the next day and I called Hugo and asked if they would add the additional 3-year Toyota care package for $0…make it more worth it and compensate me for ALL the trouble…and at first he said no problem but would need to talk to his boss…and he would let me know soon… a couple days go by and I didn’t hear from him…I texted him…he said his boss was off but would find out soon… again didn’t hear back so I texted him and he calls and says they can’t do that add on but offered a $200 check for the trouble…at this point I just didn’t have the energy to fight for more so I agreed. I did ask if they could just give me the check in person (they wanted to mail it) since I had to go back to the dealership anyway and Hugo said he would do his best. Hugo and I scheduled an appointment for 3/28 11 AM for the plug check, detail and tank fill up…on the morning of the 28th I texted him and asked if I could come in earlier to get it done... he never responded… at around 10:10 I called him to make sure he would be there, but he didn’t answer…I called the dealership and the receptionist said Hugo wasn’t there but would be in 15-20 minutes… I drove to the dealership, and he still hasn’t responded to me… I called him when I arrived it was a little after 11… he didn’t answer…but he texted me and said can I call you back I’m in a meeting and I replied saying I was here…he said to give him 5 minutes. A few minutes pass and I see Rene coming toward me…I was livid… He was the last person I wanted to see or deal with…and Hugo knew this… he assured me I wouldn’t have to deal with Rene again… but here’s Rene standing in front of me, and he says I am so sorry the plugs weren’t installed and puts his hands out for me to give him my keys... I asked him where Hugo was and he said he’s in a meeting and told me to come out and get the car so service could start working on it…I give Rene the keys and he takes the car back… A few minutes pass and Hugo finds me…says sorry and that the car will be out in about 1.5 hours…I asked again for the $200 check, and he said he would go find out… 2 hours pass…Hugo never got back to me about the check, but Rene finds me and brings me my keys, says the car is ready and said the finance department would mail me my $200 check………. I was pissed and ready to cry…I get into the car and the first thing I see is the grease stain on the ceiling…once again I was so mad….I called Hugo right away and tell him, so he said bring back the keys inside…Hugo took the car back AGAIN to get it cleaned AGAIN…5-10 minutes pass…Hugo brings me the keys and says its cleaned… no additional I am so sorry just... here’s your keys it’s clean… I asked him AGAIN to please give me the $200 and how ridiculous this has been, but of course he said no. I shook my head and walked away, and he said nothing… Fast forward to 3/29 about 4 PM Hugo calls me and says his bosses need a picture of my insurance card with the vin #...which they should have already had and requested during paperwork… I was driving back home to GA so I told it would be a while… he said its fine but that he needed it within 2 hours…I was 3-4 hours from home, so I wasn’t able to do that…again… just something else this dealership failed to do… The next morning (3/30) I text him a screenshot of the binder of insurance and he said it wasn’t good enough, he wanted a picture of my ID card which I don’t have yet… so he sends back-to-back text asking for my brokers phone number so he can just call them… I gave it to him… I know this was a very long review and might be confusing to follow… it was a lot to process and keep up with… just know it was horrible and they RUINED my car buying experience…I finally have my dream car and thanks to Rene, Eddie and Hugo at North Park Toyota it was ruined… the first thing I did when I got home was removed their license plate frames because in no way would I ever advertise for them. I don’t except to ever see that $200 check, especially after this review. Here are some pictures to support it. More
