The service department is awful. Came in for a complimentary oil change on my 2020 Altima and likewise agreed to a $34 tire rotation at the urging of Service Advisor, Mike Ramnarine. Came in for a complimentary oil change on my 2020 Altima and likewise agreed to a $34 tire rotation at the urging of Service Advisor, Mike Ramnarine. An hour later, I stepped outside to make a phone call and spotted my car in the parking lot. I immediately noticed that the tires had not been rotated because a few weeks earlier I had gotten a flat on the rear passenger side, and that tire, which had a faint chalk line etched into it’s sidewall, was still on the rear passenger side. When Ramnarine presented me with my bill, I told him the tires hadn’t been rotated and explained to him how I knew, at which time, he repeatedly accused me of lying and trying to skate the bill. He was loud, and disrespectful, and only after I took him up on his offer to watch the videotape, did he and his mechanic come clean. After ten minutes of arguing, they admitted, without apology, that they hadn’t rotated the tires, claiming they had confused the service order for my black Altima with that of a maroon Rogue. Here’s where it gets weird, though: Even though I didn’t owe any money at that point, Ramnarine refused to give me my keys. He’s about as physically intimating as a wisp of smoke, but rather than deal with this deluded little man, I went up front and got security, who quickly put him in his place. Dallas is the security guard’s name, and he was a fine gentleman. In fact, most of the people at Nissan 112 seem like decent people. But if the service department is willing to lie to you about services rendered, especially services that may be detrimental to the health of your vehicle, then it’s not worth using them.
