Joe Luczak was our salesman and went above and beyond the call to make us feel comfortable and get us the information we needed to help make our decision. Quite honestly, i didn't think we were going to buy that day and i wasn't sure we would buy from a metro east dealer. All that was put aside when after a very short negotiating period - 10 minutes at most. They ended up hitting our price. Time will tell if they stand behind their product, but for now it couldn't be better. And they have *great* coffee. More

Service personnel misrepresented cost of repair. I had previously purchased a set of 4 tires to replace the originals on my 2010 Prius. They came with road hazard insurance. While on a trip (7/23 I had previously purchased a set of 4 tires to replace the originals on my 2010 Prius. They came with road hazard insurance. While on a trip (7/23/14) I got a nail through the sidewall of one of the tires. I stopped at a reputable tire dealer hoping to get the tire patched (not a Toyota dealer). He said the damage was such that it could not be repaired. He said that the tires had little wear and asked where we purchased them. He suggested we call the dealer (Newbold) and ask if the tires were still under warranty. We did that and were told that the tires were under warranty and that the tire would be replaced FREE OF CHARGE. We have all work on the car done at Newbold. They have the service records. We had no reason to doubt them. The person on the phone said that we should come to the dealership at 9:30 on 7/24 and that the tire would be replaced. We kept re-inflating the tire and nursing it along. When I went in a 9:30 on 7/24 Russell looked at the tire and said they would fix it. I waited for 1 1/2 hours. When I was told it was complete, I was advised that the TIRE was covered, but that I would have to pay tax and installation. This came to $26.41. This was a surprise since everyone up until this point had told me it would cost NOTHING, that everything was covered. The invoice (TOCS299862) even states that "Estimate.....Customer hereby acknowledges receiving original estimate of $0.00 (+TAX). I went home still feeling that even though it cost more that they stated.... I could live with $26.41, though I was NOT happy about the misrepresentation. Hours later, at 3:33 p.m., imagine my surprise when I got a call from the service department saying that they had contacted the tire company and that I was actually responsible for the entire cost of the tire and that it was no longer under warranty. Keep in mind that this is after TWO employees of the service department (the service department that has my service records and knows what I bought and when I bought it) had told me that the cost would be $0.00. SO, as you can imagine, I am livid. My hazard warranty covered tire is costing me $139.91. Instead of the $113 extra for the tire, the caller gave us the new tire for "cost", which was $95. I suppose the $18 saving off the $139.91 for my tire replacement estimated at $0.00 was supposed to make me jump for joy. It did NOT. This service experience was misrepresented every step of the way. The people who told me that the cost would be $0.00 may have been mistaken, but it was their mistake, not mine. Had they told me when I originally called on 7/23 to check the status of the warranty they could have AND SHOULD HAVE told me it was NOT covered, NOT that there would be no charge. I could have purchased a new time from the establishment I was at. My car was in the bay and jacked up. Instead, I wasted my entire day on 7/24 AND was told I'd be paying for the tire AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE. I have 2 Toyotas and am in the market to trade both at Newbold with Nick Erlinger, who has been bending over backwards to foster a good relationship with me and my wife. Tell Nick I am buying my next Toyotas ANYWHERE but Newbold. We have also had ALL maintenance and repair work done at Newbold service. We will NEVER come to Newbold for service again. If anyone mentions Toyota I will be sure and discourage them from using Newbold Toyota. Newbold will never get another cent of mine. We have purchased 3 vehicles in the last 10 years and Sonny is the reason we come back to Newbold. Buying a car can be an enormous hassle, full of haggling and back and forth. Sonny is professional, courteous, experienced and a pleasure to work with. His expertise and knowledge of the vehicles, financing and related purchase items really put us at ease.
