My salesperson, Jamall Thompson, was the only reason I ended up dealing with this dealership. I found a Toyota Camry on autotrader, reached out to the dealership and was put in contact with Jamal. From th ended up dealing with this dealership. I found a Toyota Camry on autotrader, reached out to the dealership and was put in contact with Jamal. From the very beginning, Jamall was very helpful, professional, responsive, and kind. He answered all of my questions and went out of his way to take pictures of any damage he could find on the car, per my request. I am military station in Delaware and ended up driving about 4.5 hours up to the dealership to trade in my car. When I got there, I discovered that the car the dealership advertised was not the car that they had. The dealership advertised they had a Camry XSE. When I got there I found out the trim level was actually SE, which is very different. The dealership actually wanted me to pay the price that we had originally agreed upon when I thought they had an XSE. I said absolutely not and we started negotiations. Jamall went to talk to the sales manager and the managers offer was laughable (he took 1k off the XSE price). I asked to speak to the sales manager and Jamall asked me to give him another try. He asked me what I was willing to pay, I told him, and we were able to agree on a fair price. After we agreed upon a price the dealer tried to register the new car to me. This ended up being a debacle because they couldn’t figure out how the transfer my Florida plate from my truck to the new car. I get that they don’t deal with military very often and they kept telling me it was impossible to transfer my plates because I had a Florida license with a Delaware address. Nothing is impossible and it seemed like they just didn’t want to figure out how to do it rather than they couldn’t do the transfer. In the end they registered the car in Delaware and now I have to get my Florida plates transferred in my own after the fact. I almost walked away when I found out the car I drove up to get wasn’t actually real. The only reason I stayed was due to Jamall. This dealership could take a lesson in customer service from Jamall. Throughout the whole process, Jamall bent over backwards to try and help me out. He tried different ways to try and get my tags transferred, thought outside the box, and remained professional when I was clearly frustrated. He went so far as to recommend a pizza place down the street for me to get lunch while they tried to figure out the registration debacle. He even called ahead to let them know I was coming and have them give me the “Jamall” discount. Thanks a lot Jamall! Your turned the negative experience into a positive. More
