Edward W. Napleton, opened his first automotive business in 1931 on Chicago's South Side. With a $700 loan, a strong work ethic and a belief in common courtesy, he opened the Napleton Buick Service Station. Francis Napleton, Edward's son, was by his side to help foster the growth of the young business in its early years.
Napleton's first dealership was a DeSoto franchise, and when that brand was discontinued with little warning, Napleton quickly aligned itself with another Chrysler nameplate, Plymouth, eventually being awarded several additional franchises. Edward and Francis both believed in hard work and exceptional customer service, values that they passed down to the next generation of Napletons. Five of Francis' eight children have worked in the auto business their entire lives.
Edward F. ("Ed") Napleton, Francis' son, is a third-generation auto dealer. He began his career as a kid sweeping the floors at the dealership owned by his father and grandfather. He moved up the ranks, serving as a technician, then in sales and finance, and eventually as a general manager. At just 23 years of age, Ed became the youngest car dealer in the United States when he was awarded a Pontiac dealership in Blue Island, Illinois.
Today, the Ed Napleton Family operates more than 74 franchises in seven states. Taking pride in helping each community they live and work in, the Napleton Family name has become synonymous with excellence and teamwork. What started as a small family-owned business has blossomed into one of the most forward-thinking dealership groups in the country. Four of Ed's five children have proudly joined him in pursuing the family business and have a hand in the company's day-to-day operations.

Sold me a Lemon, then asked me to pay more as a resolution. I recently (a week ago) purchased in full a used 2004 Honda Civic CP from this auto dealer. Within 6 days of the purchase the head gasket is leaking a I recently (a week ago) purchased in full a used 2004 Honda Civic CP from this auto dealer. Within 6 days of the purchase the head gasket is leaking and needs to be replaced. The repair will cost more than what I paid for the vehicle. Total repair quote to make vehicle drivable is $3654.00. When I contacted the business, they referred me to the "General Manager" who only insisted on REPEATING "that's why I don't sell cars that old!". But you did, and you sold a car that old to me? The only options this Manager "Lawrence" provided me was to either bring the vehicle back and they refund my money on the condition that I buy a car from their lot with that refund (or no deal). The second option was to have me drive it out the them (I live 50 miles away) and have their mechanic look at it and maybe they can repair it 50/50 on the price. Meaning, I still have to pay at least $1,500 to $2,000 on top of what I paid for the car originally. (This was not a negotiation) The only options presented where options that included him getting more money from me and he continued to say "that's why I don't sell cars that old on my lot", again...you did, and you sold that car to me! Just as an idea, when I had taken the vehicle to the shop after purchase they noticed my entire coolant tank was empty (I drove 50miles home with practically NO COOLANT). I still can’t figure out where the coolant is going because it isn't leaking out. Did I mention that they over filled my oil by a quarter, showing me they were trying to compensate for something and new there was a problem. Great job Napleton Valley Hyundai, I was planning to come back a year from now and purchase a NEW vehicle for my then graduated wife! Way to show your view on customer service, absolute ZERO care for you or your family; just want that money and you to leave. More
