They emailed me a 15% discount for an oil change, but refused to apply it when I paid! In addition, they charge $2.98 for paying with a credit card without telling you or giving you the opportunity to use a different method of payment. The service is lousy! I waited almost two hours for an oil change. Needless to say, I will never have anything to do with these crooks! More

He sneaked into the loan tire protection and prepaid maintenance that I never asked for. Went back to cancel these plans but was given a hard time by this finance person. Buyer beware. More
Overall we had a good experience, got the car we wanted at a fair price. We did have to fight a little to keep the price we negotiated, and the process was long, but in the end we were very happy. We had a pretty good experience, but with a couple hickups. Our salesperson, Daniel, did a great job. He was professional and soft spoken as opposed to the stereotypical high-pressure salesman. The Fi hickups. Our salesperson, Daniel, did a great job. He was professional and soft spoken as opposed to the stereotypical high-pressure salesman. The Finance guy was good too, bypassing the sales pitch on the extended warranty and all the other add-ons that we weren't going to buy anyway. The only weird things were: 1) They didn't have the CX-5 we specially asked for. And instead of just telling us that, they started the paperwork on one with slightly different specifications, and implied that it was the only one left in stock (even though their website says they have dozens). 2) The CX-5 we ended up with had 2 add-ons we didn't want or need: black lug nuts and a license plate frame. An added cost of $265. They said those things could not be removed because they were added at the factory (a lie). But they weren't even installed! The lug nuts were in the trunk in a box along with the license plate frame. And they had already put the Napleton branded frames on the vehicle. Because of these deficiencies, we were able to get a better discount on MSRP, so I feel it somewhat evened out. The sales manager gave us a good deal to secure the sale, and more on our trade-in than expected. More

Hi! I made a custom buyers order from this Mazda. TLDR The experience wasn’t perfect, and I did have to navigate classic dealership stuff, but in the end I made a custom buyers order from this Mazda. TLDR The experience wasn’t perfect, and I did have to navigate classic dealership stuff, but in the end I was able to get what I wanted for MSRP. I also got to work with the BEST person on their staff, Chase Fisher. He was so easy to work with and a fantastic person. Positives: - like I just said Chase was wonderful to work with. If I said I didn’t want X or I wanted him to write down Y on the paperwork he wouldn’t put up a fight. I just had to be insistent and he gave me what I wanted. When the manager came into the discussion later he helped communicate what I was asking for to the manager. I felt like Chase was a very kind, understanding, and helpful person to work with. - contrary to the standard dealer experience, I was only there for about an hour on the first visit doing paperwork. Second visit about the same. - custom buyers orders are MSRP. Plain and simple no markups - they keep you updated throughout the whole experience! You know everything about the cars shipment and creation and they give you an accurate delivery estimate. - they fulfill simple requests too, like asking for the window sticker, and keeping on the wrapping when the car arrives. They didn’t touch the car one bit from when it got off the truck because I asked simple for the wrapper to be left on. Great attention to detail. - in the end I got THE EXACT car I wanted in THE EXACT condition I wanted. No accessories. Wrapper on the car. Fresh and clean. Great service and care for the product. Negatives: - didn’t get to test drive a used car that I was looking into buying. It was a special car so I understand a bit, they don’t want them to get messed up on a test drive. However, I went to a Carmax and got a test drive in one no problem. I seriously considered going to a different dealer because of this point. It just smelled a bit fishy. - there are classic dealer traps here, like they try to find out your credit score before you even decide on paying finance or cash, and they try to find out whether you pay finance or cash before there’s paperwork printed. - the manager came out during the first meetup which really sucked. He was playing the intimidation card, acting all scary in order to get me to fold on something. Summarized: I said “please write down that you won’t add any accessories to the car” manager said “we can’t do that. We are trusting you to buy the car when it gets here so you should trust us not to put accessories on” I said “you trust me by my signature on the paper and 1k down on the purchase, I’ll trust you by your equal word on paper”. They also tried to say “what if Mazda puts on wheel locks or something, Mazda decides the final MSRP.” I said “whatever Mazda does Mazda does. I don’t want you guys to add accessories” so they ended up putting it on the paperwork for me. - they tried to sell xylon ceramic coating and damage insurance for 2k. Wasn’t interested. I don’t know what buying a new or used car not custom bought is like, so I don’t know how they deal with this there, but if you’re doing a custom buyers order and don’t want that service maybe ask them to leave the plastic wrapping on the car just in case. They tried to get me to sign papers with the Xylon still on the sheet, so I asked for a new one with updated writing (without the Xylon) End points: Chase is the best. He should get a raise. Manager is not the best, beware of the manager trying to scare you into scams. Simply stand your ground. Never give in, and be ready to walk out if they never let up. Custom buyers order overall is a controlled experience in order to get exactly what you want. Some things can be intimidating there. So I would do your research on dealership traps before going to any dealer. I just did a quick YouTube search and watched a bunch of videos, in the end it went well. More

Disappointed in the way my family and I have been treated by the team at Napleton's Palatine Mazda. I recently returned in attempt to purchase a second vehicle from the group in a 3 month period. Unfortunate by the team at Napleton's Palatine Mazda. I recently returned in attempt to purchase a second vehicle from the group in a 3 month period. Unfortunately, do to a severe lack of communication and misleading practices I wasted multiple days attempting to purchase a 2014 Accord. Disappointing to receive the same bait and switch tactics that I was hoping to avoid by being a returning customer. Please be wary of this group and please get a THIRD PARTY inspection on any used vehicle you may be looking to buy from here. Walter relentlessly pressured us and ensured us that the vehicle was rigorously inspected and that there was nothing to be concerned about. The continued to make it a very difficult process to get the car inspected and waited until 7pm to agree to have it inspected once all shops were closed. I finally was able to work out a way to have the vehicle inspected and I’m so glad I did - the vehicle had over $2k in needed maintenance. They will make it a difficult process to get an inspection but it is well worth the peace of mind. Best of luck! More
