This dealership lies and will not honor Edmunds pricing Do not trust this dealership. They will not honor the pricing you actually verify with them over the phone or email. I originally found a Grand Cher Do not trust this dealership. They will not honor the pricing you actually verify with them over the phone or email. I originally found a Grand Cherokee at this dealership for an MSRP price of $44,675.00 and I had a true car price of $36,541.00 for it. I asked over the phone if the sales rep would honor the true car price and she said yes, that I can get this car for $36,541.00 and she said yes. I told her I would come in to look at the car. We ended the phone conversation and within minutes she calls and leaves me a message that the car was just sold. The car has not been sold and this is 2 weeks later. It is just at a different dealership now because I searched for the vin number. She asked if I would be interested in a different Grand Cherokee but they did not have another one with the color I wanted. They were all more expensive than the original Jeep that I wanted. I searched the website several hours later and the original car was still on their website so I called to confirm if it actually was still available and a different sales rep said that it was available for purchase but he saw I was working with a previous sales rep so he forwarded me back to her. She again said this car was sold. At this point it seemed very shady so we ended the conversation because she did not have another vehicle in that price range. A few days later the dealership did have another Grand Cherokee that interested me. The MSRP was $33,990.00 and I originally had a true car price of $28,791.00. I called her back and she said yes they would honor the true car price. I did some more research on the Edmunds site and Edmunds had a price of $26,142.00 which is a dramatic $2,649.00 difference. I emailed the sales rep and asked if the dealership would honor the Edmunds price of $26,142.00. This is the response from the sales rep ” Good Morning, I tried calling but was unable to reach you. We do work with Edmunds price promise so I Don’t see a reason why we would not be able to honor your savings certificate.” I also received a follow up call on Thursday if I was going to stop in the next day on Friday to take a look at the car. I said yes. Again within minutes of ending the phone conversation she calls back and said the car may not be available to buy on Friday because of some type of radio recall. She asked if a different Grand Cherokee would interest me but again they all were priced higher than the one I actually wanted to buy so I said no, the other ones don’t interest me. She then calls back and says she can have the service department expedite the radio recall repair and I can still come in on Friday to look at the car. Why did she not expedite it in the first place? So I agreed to look at the car on Friday and she said she would not be available but she would give my information to another sales rep for Friday. I met the new sales rep on Friday and when we discussed pricing I showed him my Edmunds pricing but he said he could only honor the true car pricing. That is a $2,649.00 difference so I said I would not be able to purchase the car then. I said I had an email confirmation that the dealership would honor the Edmunds price. So he went to talk to his sales manager for about 20 minutes and came back and did not budge on the original true car price and not the Edmunds price and said that is the best he could do. I told him again that I would not be able to buy it the. So he asked me what price I would be willing to buy the car for knowing it could not be the Edmunds price of $26,142.00. I said I would be willing to buy it for $27,000.00 knowing that he would probably counter with $27,500.00 which would be meeting halfway between the Edmunds and true car pricing. He asked me for a new number. I was perfectly willing to walk out. So he took my $27,000.00 offer to his manager and I waited another 20 minutes and he comes back and says again his best offer is the true car price of $28,791.00. So why did he waste my time asking what would I be willing to pay? He said he was reviewing the phone calls I had with the previous sales rep and that it was explained they would honor the true car price. I have an email in print stating they would honor the Edmunds price and I did not recall the sales rep discussing that she would only honor the true car price. At this point their lies were just piling on so I said again, I said I could not purchase for the true car price. He reached out and placed my original car keys on his desk and did not say another word. He did not apologize that we could not get to an agreement. He did not say maybe we can work on a future car. He did not say have a nice day. He said nothing. He did not even tell me where my original car was parked after they did the appraisal. My wife and I had to walk all over the parking lot until we found our car. We went to another Jeep dealership the same day and the new Jeep dealership honored by Edmunds price without any hassle. I would never buy a car from Napleton’s Arlington Heights Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. More
