When I first started researching cars a few weeks ago, I was not even close to settled on any particular make or model, but I had heard good things about the Costco auto program and decided to check out car was not even close to settled on any particular make or model, but I had heard good things about the Costco auto program and decided to check out cars through them. I was quickly contacted by multiple cooperating dealerships, but Napleton Honda stood out right away. Their internet sales rep emailed me a membership quote for a Civic, which was nice because I hadn't even a clue how big of a discount this membership would help me get. I responded with many questions, and right away I was contacted by Marc Dickson. He answered all that I had asked about and then called me to get more details about our situation. He was very patient and listened carefully to everything I said; he didn't waste either of our time reciting generic sales information. He found out exactly what I needed and responded accordingly (something I can't say about any other salesperson who contacted me, through Costco's program or otherwise). Throughout my entire experience with Marc and everyone else I came into contact with at Napleton, I was treated with respect and thoughtfulness. I was never rushed, pushed around, or made to wait for long periods of time. Every request or question was met with accuracy and a friendly attitude. They made me feel as though my business was worth their time, and even though I live two hours away from them, it was well worth the drive to give them that business. My only regret is that I won't be able to continue going back for service on my wonderful new car! I hope this review will help make up for that! More
I will NEVER take a vehicle to Napleton's again even if we were on the street outside and the car was on fire!! I was forced to take our Honda Insight to Napleton's for repair last fall because no other sh we were on the street outside and the car was on fire!! I was forced to take our Honda Insight to Napleton's for repair last fall because no other shop in Rockford would touch a hybrid. They said that the entire engine needed replaced. Needing to keep the hybrid for its high gas mileage, we bit the bullet and said okay. After a month, we finally got the car back.Somehow during the whole engine replacement, some of the wires had gotten stripped and sealed with a liquid plastic - even though the electrical system has nothing to do with putting in a new engine. Tell me another!A couple of weeks ago, the car started having electrical issues. Having no other choice, we had it towed to Napleton's again. They said that replacing the engine would have caused no damage to the electrical system and it would cost us $2000 to fix. They said the part would be $800 and the rest was labor.We looked online and found the part for $80. Uncharacteristic of any other shop we have dealt with, they said that if we brought the part in, they would install it...for $1800. Sounds a bit shady to me.We told them not to touch anything and to have it ready for pick up at the end of the week. When we showed up to get the vehicle, they still had it in the bay and could not find the keys. These idiots had it clogging up one of their bays for DAYS after they were told to NOT work on it!I have never been to a shop that is so poorly run and who will cheat you just because they think they can. This company does not seem to understand simple instructions like "Do not call after 10am." I work 3rd shift and any time after that is like calling me in the middle of the night. I received a call today asking how they did on their service from the last time my car was in, which my wife already yelped about. I informed them of the issues I was told the Manager would call. This is the same answer I got the last time I had complained, which the Manager never did call. Instead I started getting calls from all sorts of services that Napelton gave my number to. More
Single women BEWARE of this dealership! They take advantage of women like you wouldn't believe. They will agree on a price for a car (total price of the new car minus your trade-in) and then send yo advantage of women like you wouldn't believe. They will agree on a price for a car (total price of the new car minus your trade-in) and then send you back to the finance guy. Once he gets you back there he starts playing with numbers, increasing the term of your loan and interest rate. They try to get people to focus on the monthly payment. I know someone who had an agreement on paper (the salesperson she worked with even initialed the terms), then the finance guy said the sales person screwed up and they couldn't do the deal. WHAT A JOKE this place is. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN HERE!!!! More
I am a loyal Honda buyer and the last two Honda vehicles that I purchased I bought from Napelton Honda in Loves Park. Both experiences were great! My Sakesman Mike Massaro was amazing! I was looking forr a good used Suv went all over the city to find one a fried told me about NNapleton . He said get a hold of Bertm Vespasian. I went to see Bert. I leased a new Honda civic for my daughter. Greg and Dan were great to deal with. I felt they addressed any questions and concerns I had honestly. The car Is fantastic and gets great gas mileage. Mike was extremely helpful and a true gentleman. He took the time to understand what we were looking for and presented many options to support our needs/desires. Even though we were not yet committed to buy the time to understand what we were looking for and presented many options to support our needs/desires. Even though we were not yet committed to buying, he graciously answered many questions and patiently allowed us to test drive 2 vehicles. The dealership presented multiple financing options and I was very surprised to learn that we were able to drive the vehicle home that same evening. We ended up keeping Mike and other staff from the dealership well past closing time to which there were no complaints from anyone, only smiles and appreciation for the business. The day after the sale we received a courtesy follow-up phone call to ensure everything was ok and to answer any added questions we may have had. More

Well seeing as over half of the reviews above (20+) were written by Napleton's employee's after being ordered to do so by the owners and managment how honest do you think this dealership really is? The Napleton family exploits their employee's every chance they get and that goes double for their customers. The truth is they are just a bunch of weathly snobs from Chicago. The only thing that them seem to understand is their bottom line and that is why I am writting this. Hopefully there are people out there that value a company that feels a responsibility to it's employee's and the community in which they opperate. The Napleton's do neither. Besides short changing employee's commissions, ignoring customer complaints, taking advantage of any opportunity that they can in the name of profit. I could write a book on the horror stories that have been witnessed here. Everything from selling wrecked cars as cheap and quick as possible after a shody repair in order to avoid it showing up on CARFAX to pushing un needed service work. Long story short. If they are smiling and being nice, your getting taken to the cleaners. More
