I visited the Dave Mungenast Toyota in Alton Illinois on December 20, 2011, concerning a 2008 Highlander that I had bought used from the Dave Mungenast Lexus dealership in Manchester, MO. I had an unusual p December 20, 2011, concerning a 2008 Highlander that I had bought used from the Dave Mungenast Lexus dealership in Manchester, MO. I had an unusual problem with an internal part that had broken on the driver's side door that was making constant noise. Initially I had contacted Ms. Laura Hamilton, service consultant at the Lexus dealer, and she called the Toyota store and explained the problem to Mr. Josh Kassler, Service Advisor. She gave me the contact information that I needed to resolve the issue. A few days later I made an appointment to see Mr. Kassler. Josh was very helpful in reviewing the door issue which he had not experienced before. Josh involved his service manager and a technican to review the repair options. Josh also noted that my Highlander had some outstanding recall notices. He arranged for the proper recall services to be performed on the car while research was done on the door issue. The service time was prompt, and I was very pleased to have everything brought up to date before I left. A solution to repairing the broken part inside the door was identified, and the parts will be available in only a few days. The approach taken was appropriate and fair. Josh did a good job of keeping me informed of progress during my stay. This is an example of customer caring that was a joy to experience.
