FIRST TIME BUYER TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF I went in to momentum of Vallejo as a first time buyer looking for an all wheel drive car in the $20,000 price range, that I found with a Subaru Cross I went in to momentum of Vallejo as a first time buyer looking for an all wheel drive car in the $20,000 price range, that I found with a Subaru Crosstrek. I was assured by the salesperson and sales manager that I would be getting a great deal for it as it had not been been sold yet and had been on the lot for over three months. At first they gave me a nice quote of $350/month which seemed reasunable, BUT for 84 month which adds up to way more than what was listed for the car, $18,999. I went back and forth with the sales manager trying to negotiate a price and he continued to raise the monthly by dozens of dollars while decreasing the finance period ever so slightly, and still had the audacity to say he wasn’t trying to screw me over. We then negotiated a price and went to the finance department where my lack of car buying experience really felt like it was taken advantage of. As I was reading the terms to what I was signing I was constantly told “just sign here” and felt hurried as they were reaching closing time of the dealer. It wasn’t untik right after I left the lot that this wasn’t the car for me, but after reviewing my contract I knew I was stuck in a bind. More
