Water pump replacement I was hearing different engines noise and I called and asked Chuck Hill about what he thought what was the cause of the noise. We both thought it migh I was hearing different engines noise and I called and asked Chuck Hill about what he thought what was the cause of the noise. We both thought it might be the water pump. He recommended that I bring in my car the next morning. First thing in the morning, the problem was determined as a bad water pump. Chuck researched the warranty on the car but the 5 years passed this past January and the miles just went over the 100k limit. I was thankful that Chuck. The real shock came when Chuck told me they would have to take out the engine to replace the pump. I said, "No, what the heck were the Toyota engineers thinking when they designed the car? Don't they ever talk to the technicians? It was bad enough in the years past that when you changed the water pump, you had to change the timing belt/chain." Chuck then came back with a better solution then taking out the engine. To the best of my ability, the technician did a great job in the replacing of the water pump whose bearings were not functioning properly. More
