We were not looking forward to the ordeal of replacing the family van. We decided to visit Herb Connolly Hyundai first of all, because they had the model used car we were looking for listed on Auto Trader the family van. When we arrived at the dealership, we were pleased that we got to walk through the used car lot and look around on our own before going into the showroom. As we came into the showroom we met Wens. We liked him right away. Wens is a true gentleman, relaxed, friendly, helpful, up front and direct. He showed us the car we had come to see. It had just come in on a trade and was not out on the lot yet. We organized a test ride and inspection and that was it. They took care of all the paperwork. The rest fell into place. Wens was very low key and never made us feel pressured. We were pleased to have done business with Wens and the people at Herb Connolly Hyundai, and appreciate that they made it a positive experience for us. More
I had a great experience here in Sept when I bought a 2011 Sonata. Everyone was extremely friendly; the dealership is really clean and nice and my sales person did a great job showing my the Sonata and Elantra, explaining everything, answering all my questions and then getting things together when I was ready to buy. The price on the car was OK, not much budging on the negotiating but I did a great value on my trade-in, 2000 Focus. One issue I had was the repeated questions at the end of my first visit of why don't I buy the car that same day even though I explained several times that I was still shopping around and checking out a Subaru and a Civic. However, after I brought this up to the internet marketing person, the issue was fixed and I did not feel pressured to buy. I would definitely recommend this dealership and would buy from here again. Now looking forward to see how they are on service, etc. More
We just purchased a new 2010 Santa Fe GLS from Jim O'Reilly. We had done lots of research and visited 8-10 Honda and Hyundai dealers. Herb Connolly Hyundai was by far the most pleasant, fair, and efficient car shopping experience we had. We had gotten a very low price quote from another dealer on the same year, model, and trim. We decided to try Herb Connolly yesterday because they were local, whereas the other dealer was not. Jim and Doug gave us a comparable deal on a car that had a few minor features the other Santa Fe did not: cargo mat, 18" alloy wheels, auto-dimming rearview mirror w/compass. The difference was under $150 and their offer for our trade-in was more than fair. We agreed to buy late yesterday afternoon. Ryan had us through the FInance process in less than a half hour. Even the Parts dept was great and stayed open a few extra minutes so we could buy the iPod cable we needed. At about 6 pm, Jim gave us a thorough briefing on all aspects of the car and we were able to surprise our kids by driving the car home last night. We will go back tomorrow to deliver the title for our trade, pick up the registration for the new car, and have the full detailing done. My experience has been that many car dealers treat buyers as if they are stupid. If you show them you are NOT stupid, they treat you like you're obnoxious. None of those bad feelings at Herb Connolly Hyundai. The treated us with respect and earned our business. I would go there for another car in a minute. UPDATE 11/3: You know the saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"? Well, my husband went back today, as instructed, to deliver trade-in title, but new car registration was not ready. Although Ryan said it was no problem to assign car to a Living Trust, it WAS a problem. So I have to go there tonight to sign new Finance papers, and because registration was not done, car can't be inspected. Now we have to drop off car Thursday night to have inspection AND detailing done on Friday. Another annoyance was that our insurance company said dealer had not contacted them as of mid-day today. Changed rating from 5 to 4 for Customer Service and Overall Experience. UPDATE 11/12: Things went smoothly on the day my husband brought the car back for it's inspection and detailing. The car looked great and we LOVE it! Thank you! Overall Experience back up to a 5. More

I knew all the info about the car I wanted before walking in. I dealt with Justin from the beginning and he was very helpful and was working with me on the deal. I was very upfront with the dealership as far as my credit/self employment status and to the fact that I would be having a co-signer. It seemed to go smoothly for the first couple of days, until we had to go in and give my co-signer's credit info. From that point on I was dealing with Doug and was given many different bits of info on what was happening etc and it was just becoming a not so great process. I was called a week later to say the deal couldn't go thru, I asked for my deposit back and then was told they had put one more call into another bank and to just wait and hopefully this one would go thru, but it might be at a higher payment. Well lo and behold, it went thru at the higher payment, buy w/o the extra perk Justin had threw in for me. I did end up taking the deal since this was the car I really wanted and just was burnt out from looking. I just felt like Justin got in trouble for adding the extras and they were dragging it out to change the whole thing in the end and take that off. I'm not saying I would not buy a car from them but in the beginning I felt like at ease and not like I was car shopping but then it became the dreaded hassle of wheeling and dealing. I get the fact that my loan was hard to deal with but I just would like honesty and not one day telling me one thing the next day telling me the complete opposite. I wouldn't say a bad thing about either of the guys, just felt more comfortable dealing with Justin, I understand he's not on the finance side but he was very apologetic and grateful when we finally came back in to pick up the car. Just didn't feel like another number with him. More

Alex was very knowledgeable about the car. I test drove it and he answered nearly all of my questions and the couple of things he wasn't positive about - he got them answered when we returned from the test drive. I really appreciated that he kept making sure that he was giving me the complete and accurate information I needed. His approach was very accomodating. He has a good sense of humor and uses it in a way that makes the process more comfortable. I had never met Alex before, but I would be happy to talk to anyone who is considering a Hyundai purchase. And he kept asking what else he could do to close the deal, but he did this in a very reasonable way. More
