I had a great experience at Herb Connolly after visiting other Hyundai dealerships. Jim O. was very attentive and more than willing to show/test drive several vehicle models, to find a good fit for what I other Hyundai dealerships. From the moment I walked into this dealership it was different than the others I had been to since my car search began. This dealership was on my way to work which was just convenient. I arrived in the dealership on a Thursday morning before going to work. I looked at the vehicles in the showroom and took the 2011 Sonata for a test drive. I told Jim that my husband and I would be back to look at the Sonata and the Hyundai Touring. When my husband and I arrived two days later Jim was very intuitive and a great listener. He did not in any way persuade me to buy the bigger car or more expensive car instead he showed me the vehicles that he felt was going to suit my needs after I had told him what I was looking for, such as; small car, being able to sit in the trunk, sun-roof, stick shift, good on gas etc. He took us right to the back of the lot showing the different options available, test drove three Hyundai Tourings. He even let us go off on our own without feeling pressured with the sales rep being in the back of the vehicle. Doug, the manager, and Jim worked with us to get the right price for the vehicle and a totally fair price for our trade in. Result: great business deal.... that satisfied both of us. I recommend this dealership. The team will work with you. They stand behind their product and I look forward bringing my vehicle there for maintenance purposes. Renate and Greg More

Purchased my 2011 Hyundai Sonata in October 2010. Shortly after I bought the car I noticed the rear seat padding and head rest was defective. The padding was bunched up and showing through the leather. Deale after I bought the car I noticed the rear seat padding and head rest was defective. The padding was bunched up and showing through the leather. Dealer ordered replacement parts and service appointment was set up. Went to pick up car and was told the replacement head rest was missing and they had to order another one. Dealer agreed to take one out of a vehicle on the lot. The next morning I noticed the seat back on the passenger side was a different color gray and did not match the rest of the seat. Incompetent parts and service. Update 3/22/11: Truly amazed how indifferent this dealership is. It has been almost two months since the dealer did the bad work and no word back from the dealer on the correct replacement parts. The service tech also damaged the rear of the passenger seat with a 2 inch gash. Had to file complaint with Hyundai USA and finally got call from Hyundai asking what they can do to correct the problem. Had to send Hyundai a picture of the seat so they could look into the problem. Would prefer not to return to Herb Connolly, but as the dealer damaged the passenger seat, Hyundai says they must be the one to repair it. Hyundai USA recommended I take the car to another dealer (one that has a good service reputation)for future repairs. Let's see how long it will take to get my car repaired. It seems that once they get your money, they no longer care. Update 5/28/11 Another 2 months gone by and no word from Herb Connolly or Hyundai USA. This was my first Hyundai, probably the last. I owned GM's, Ford's and never experienced such lack of caring and followup. I brought the vehicle to Route 2 Hyundai for the 7000 mile service and was very impressed with the way they handle themselves and told me they would be thrilled to service the car for me. Hyundai USA recommended them also. Now if I could only get the replacement parts for my car. Update 6/30/11 Had no word from the dealer or Hyundai USA. Had to call Hyundai USA to get the response they thought the issue was resolved. Called service manager Brian Zompetti, only to get excuses and they still had to order the seat back that was suppose to be ordered 4 months ago. Brian blamed Hyundai for sending the wrong part and that their service tech didn't put the gash in the rear of the front passenger seat. This guy has to be one of the biggest cockiest douche bags I have encountered in many years. When I commented that with this type of poor service, you won't be in business very long, Brian's response was that we'll do fine without you and that's your opinion. Unbelieveable!!! 7/1/2011 It's best not to do business with this sleazy disrespectful dealer that has no appreciation for a customer. They give you the run around and make excuses, just hoping you would go away. Having a different color seat reduces the value of the car. They installed an incorrect seat and the service tech did put a gash in the rear of the passenger seat. Dealer had the car from a saturday morning to late monday and still hadn't worked on it. Service tech had to rush and gashed the rear of the passenger seat. Here is a prime example of a dealer not taking responsibility for their actions. If Connolly in fact ordered the wrong seat, they would be responsible for paying for it and this I was told. Stay away from this dealer. Let the buyer beware. More
I went in with my wife, who was buying her first new car. I have not purchased a new car in nearly 40 years and the old, trite images of the "Used Car Salesman" were still firmly implanted in my mind. Go I have not purchased a new car in nearly 40 years and the old, trite images of the "Used Car Salesman" were still firmly implanted in my mind. Going in we knew we (she - my wife) had done our research and had a good idea of the exact car she wanted and the price she wanted to pay. Steve is very laid back and not a "pushy car salesman" like I had envisioned. Steve was exactly what we needed in a sales clerk, someone who would show us the cars we wanted to see and explain the features of each. He pointed out the differences in the two models without trying to steer us into buying the more expensive model. What impressed me most was that Steve understood immediately that I was just along for the ride (kind of window dressing and a little moral support). He dealt directly with Anny, addressed, and responded to all her questions without trying to "pull" me into the deal and make it a "guy" thing. Steve, we later found out, was in the restaurant business and is used to dealing with people. It shows. He was hospitable, charming, outgoing and easy to talk with. And when it came time to sit down and bargain for the best price he was firm but still willing to yield just a little bit more so Anny could have the price that reflected a “good” number (this is an inside joke that Steve will understand). It took us less than 2 hours from beginning to end. Then we were handed over to Travis who went over the actual “numbers” and financing issues. He carefully and fully explained all the little details and answered all of our questions and, again unlike the sales clerk image I had in my mind, he accepted the level of coverage that Anny wanted without trying to persuade her into spending more money than she needed or wanted to spend. Steve called 2 days before we were due to go pick the car up concerned about the incoming winter snowstorm. Steve was worried that if he had the car detailed on Friday for a Saturday pick-up and then we were unable to come in until Monday that the new car would not look nice and bright and shiny like it had just come out of the detail room. We laughed about this being the middle of a New England winter and, sooner or later, our new car was going to get snow, ice, salt, road muck and whatever else the elements had to throw our way all over it – like 5 minutes after we left Connolly Hyundai! When we walked in Saturday morning, Steve was busy wrapping up another sale, nodded a quick hello, and said, “I guess Matt will be headed back for a cup of coffee!” Steve was correct, the one-cup help-yourself coffee station was the bright oasis of my two visits to Connolly. So much so, that I am planning to take Anny’s new car in for the first 3-month check-up (which is on the house) in order to say a quick hello to Steve and head for the coffee station. I am even thinking of the pre-owned vehicle in my near future. More
I am originally from NJ and had moved to MA 5 years ago. I was recently coming off my lease of a Fusion and wanted to buy the car however and accident that had frame damage changed my mind on that one. Aft I was recently coming off my lease of a Fusion and wanted to buy the car however and accident that had frame damage changed my mind on that one. After doing much shopping around in NJ for a new car, I had decided on either a new Ford Fusion, Buick Regal, or Sonata Turbo. After test driving all the vehicles it was either the Fusion or Sonata Turbo as the Regal was too lethargic. I met with Wens about 4 months ago when I first entertained the Turbo and the price structure was out of reach. At the time I wanted to buy the car, and did not realize the true cost of ownership. Time went by and I realized I wanted to lease the vehicle, not buy. I was coming off of a loaded up Fusion, SEL V6 AWD. I sat down with Wens and we went over a few numbers, and they were starting to shape into what I was looking for. I returned to NJ to check some dealership with my father, price them out, but with the intention of registering the vehicle is MA. I decided I wanted to buy the car in MA, however the test drive in MA and in NJ weaned me down to just the Sonata Turbo. It was a fun car and just what I was looking for. We sat down with Wens, Doug, and Travis over the phone while I was in NJ and laid out my full plan and the price I needed to truly be at in order to make the move. There was no gimmicks, no hidden pricing, no up-selling, just straight forward here is what I need, and here is what I can do. Together they came back with a price I was more than happy with. It was right in my budget and they had the vehicle in stock that I was looking for, color and all. Although I only dealt with Doug for a short time, he was a gentleman. Travis and Wens were excellent and were gentlemen as well. There were no hidden issues, no jerking around, just fantastic customer service and etiquette. I am very happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend this dealership and these sales people. More
