Erroneous Recommendations Huge Prices I recently took my Smart Car (engine by Mercedes) in to fix a recalled item. They took care of the problem item efficiently and then called me to re I recently took my Smart Car (engine by Mercedes) in to fix a recalled item. They took care of the problem item efficiently and then called me to report several needed services. One was replacement of the engine mounts which was $700 plus. Second, replacement of front brake pads for $300 plus, and lastly, an oil change for $125 plus. I called my regular mechanic and asked about his doing these repairs. He said he didn't have the parts for the engine mount replacement but he could replace the front brake pads for $150 and do an oil change for another $50. So, I told Mercedes to replace the engine mount and paid them. I then took the car to my mechanic who took the wheels off and said I didn't need new brake pads--they were worn less than half way. So, I ended with an oil change and a bill for $56--as opposed to an estimated bill of almost $500 at Mercedes. I am appalled that an organization of the stature of Mercedes Benz would tell a customer that they needed repairs to their car that were not, in fact, needed. Now, of course, I wonder of I really needed to spend $700 to have the engine mounts replaced. If you can't trust these companies with huge, international reputations, who can you trust. I am very disappointed and disgusted. More
Also trying to pull a fast one in service dept. Took my e350 in for scheduled maintenance. Reviewed service order, they recommended replacing ' unsafe tire's told them no...took vehicle in 30days later for a malfunctioning shade, reviewed service order..miraculously the same ' unsafe tires' now passed inspection and no longer unsafe..go figure...they like to try and fool you...and probably get over on women and seniors. They refused to back up their warranty work I brought in a car that they repaired and told me that I had a two year warranty on parts and labor.I brought it back for the same problem 11 months l I brought in a car that they repaired and told me that I had a two year warranty on parts and labor.I brought it back for the same problem 11 months later and they refused to acknowledge the problem or back up the warranty they said that their workmanship had. Now I need to bring it somewhere else and pay again to have it repaired. Don't have your car repaired at Mercedes Benz of Sarasota. There exist many other options in Sarasota. Independent shops with certified technicians. More
Expensive Service I just took my vehicle into MB of Sarasota with a nail in the tire. I told them all that I needed was the tire repaired and nothing else, since I had I just took my vehicle into MB of Sarasota with a nail in the tire. I told them all that I needed was the tire repaired and nothing else, since I had had a $750 scheduled maintenance a week prior. They did not tell me the charge, but I had previously visited numerous MB dealers for nail repair with a charge of less than $30 in all cases. When completed, they billed me $59.86, which I said was outrageous. The clerk said she would discuss with the Service Mgr, but he refused to adjust the price. Further, the receipt says I requested a multi-point inspection, which I did not request and specifically told the service advisor to "just fix the nail". I have dealt with 5 different MB dealers over the past 3 years and this is by far the worse service that I have experienced and I will drive to another dealership for service in the future. More
This place is SUCH a ripoff. I have seen other reviews that have stated the same thing. for those of you who do not know what book time is, it is this "time" that is used to quote the price of repairs, book time multiplied by their labor rate equals the labor charge. So you can be assured you will be getting screwed on labor. Second: Price of parts. It's not enough for them to sell you an $85,000 car, no, they have to absolutely GOUGE you on replacement parts. I needed a new headlight assembly as mine got cracked from a piece of tire from a semi on the highway. The new assembly was $1,700 from MB of Sarasota, the same assembly from an OEM Mercedes parts dealer online was $936 with free shipping and NO sales tax. Book time to replace is 1.8 hours, service quoted me 2.75 hours. MB of Sarasota would not do the repair because I did not get the part from them. That is only ONE example, I have others.... Anyway, steer clear of this dealership. I have found that going to Crown Mercedes in St. Petersburg is worth the 50 minute drive. Better prices and they seem to be happy to have your business where MB of Sarasota seems to make you feel like you are dealing with a "like it or leave it mentality." I will not be doing business with MB of Sarasota ever again. They are a complete ripoff origination. Must just be how Autonation operates. More

The site team was extremely helpful and "on point" on any details about my new vehicle and the finance process. The site team, Jamie Muldoon (Sale Manager), Stephen Williams (Sales Associate) and Jason Killingbeck (Finance Director) were extremely helpful. This is my second purchase at this dealership and again another wonderful experience. Special Kudos to Stephen for his support and dedication during this entire process. The drive from Lakeland, Fl is definitely worthy when the service is simply awesome! More

Buyer Be Aware: Horrible Service and Stealership Attitude I have dealt with 5 different MB Dealerships and MB Sarasota is absolutely the WORST. Service Dept is overzealous in recommending repair/replacements I have dealt with 5 different MB Dealerships and MB Sarasota is absolutely the WORST. Service Dept is overzealous in recommending repair/replacements and is definitely in a "Gouge the Customer" mode. on Dec 27 my vehicle had a minor leak in a coolant hose. Was told by Jason Lewis, Service consultant, that it was going to take 6 hours and cost $1300. Next day, got 9am call that car was done. When I went to transact he said $1300; while fetching my car, I read their internal report. It showed 46 minute Repair/Mechanic Time and a small part that cost $64. Their internal cost showed $194, but he was insistent upon billing me $1300 ("the gouging part"). I refused payment; they brought in Service Manager who lowered bill to $600 (should have been $200). Interestingly enough, the Service folks were not aware that I was in process of Special Ordering a new 2018 GLS. I ended up departing from dealership and going elsewhere the next day, transacting $95k Special Order. I will never ever step foot into this place, after multiple incidents of overzealous repair recommendations, overcharging, and smart xxx remarks like "it is what it is" from Service Consultant Jason Lewis. MB USA should revoke this Dealership's "franchise license". I am also drafting letter to MB USA. More
