This used to be my favorite dealership. I had bought 6 cars from them before and the buying process was always very good. With the latest car the experience was subpar to say the least. The car (brand new) was delivered with stains on the interior and some minor scratches on one of the doors. You just normally don't think about these things when you buy a new car. It is expected to come checked for damage and impeccably clean. Especially from a dealership like Mercedes. Especially when it is such an expensive car. So I only noticed it after I signed the papers and took the car. When I brought this up, the dealer took the car back to buff out the scratches and promised to apply a $1000 “ceramic” coat at no charge. They kept it for one week! When I got the car back it looked even worse than before. The scratches were not buffed out, no “ceramic” coat and some wax stains on the doors. I had to bring the car back a few weeks later and all this for a procedure that only took them a few hours! Still, no “ceramic” coat at the end. I had to remove the stains on the interior myself eventually. On top of it, this car apparently needed to be broken in gradually over the first 1k miles. Nobody told me that. It seems like a pretty important piece of info that the dealership should be conveying to the customers. Also, when I made the initial deposit I overpaid by accident and the finance department told me that the excess balance would be applied toward my loan principle. Two months later, still no credit on my statements. Emailed and called Jason from finance for a few days, left multiple messages - no response. Had to call the sales person, who finally tracked the overpayment. Apparently the finance forgot about it. How convenient. They eventually issued a check for this amount but if I forgot or assumed they took care of it, the money would have been gone. Anyway, Mercedes, you definitely can (and should) do better than this.
