Earlier Jan 2013, I went there to buy a G63 AMG which is around $130k, and after signed all papers and put down $2500 the dealer was asking immediately. At the time I put in the order and have NOT yet went around $130k, and after signed all papers and put down $2500 the dealer was asking immediately. At the time I put in the order and have NOT yet went with financial decision (loan or cash). The dealer starts to ask about my employer blah blah...and I gave them an offical letter from HR. And later, the sales called my HR WITHOUT my acknowlegement (I dont know what information has been gathered). And I sent an email to ask them stop seeking my private information. About a month later, the dealer citing their "own discretion" to withdraw the transaction. And refuse to provide any specific reason (even when people from MB USA case manager.). The dealer should respect the privacy the customer should have and ask no more personal infomation than needed. Later I reported this event to MB USA and still not sure what will come about. This is typical case abuse of the power of the sales channel. People who want to have a high profile purches should avoid this dealership. More
I brought my wife's car in for routine A maintenance $299.00. I explained all the problems she was having. I was then told that it would be an additional $120.00 to find out what was wrong with the car. $299.00. I explained all the problems she was having. I was then told that it would be an additional $120.00 to find out what was wrong with the car. After a couple of hours waiting I met the shop foreman and a service person. They told me that all the wheels were bent and it would be $2500.00 to fix the problem. The previous visits we were told we needed bushings, previous to that we were told we needed bushings and a transfer case for the 4 matic. The car was becoming a nightmare. We decided to discuss this with Jeff Donovan. We then discussed trading the car for a new leftover C300 4matic. Jeff was so helpful and understanding that my wife just had to have a new car that day. We did drive away in the new car that day and very satisfied with Jeff. However, the service department needs some help. Over the last few months the car was service 3 times. It seemed as if they were just changing parts and not really diagnosing the problem. I still don't know what was wrong with the car. More
Jeff Donavan was excellent. He is a good representative of the dealership and worked hard to get this deal. He worked hard to find a 2013 MB 350 BlueTec when no autos were released. Jeff's courtesy and dem of the dealership and worked hard to get this deal. He worked hard to find a 2013 MB 350 BlueTec when no autos were released. Jeff's courtesy and demeanor and willingness to get answers regarding leasing are commendable. With this said, I think the lease price could have been better since it remained close to a 2013 450GL lease in Florida vs. the 350ML that I leased. I felt the lease, from talking to others, should be closer to $900-$925/month versus my $942.00/mo.. My issue was not with Jeff. The finance dept and others could have worked harder to win this deal from a Florida dealership. they never sat down with me. Jeff worked hard for me and I leased the auto solely because of Jeff. If you don't buy your car there- you are treated poorly. They do not want to address problems while the car is under warranty, and do not want to go to bat for you with MB after the warranty is over. DO NOT They do not want to address problems while the car is under warranty, and do not want to go to bat for you with MB after the warranty is over. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I did not buy my car there, but would not buy a car there ever. Try Smith in Haverhill - I heard they are good. Unfortunately, I did not know this until it was too late. Avoid Holloway Motors!!! More
I have been a high line car collector since 1986, and in I have been a high line car collector since 1986, and in more recent times I have bought over 45 vehicles from all over the country online etc and I have been a high line car collector since 1986, and in more recent times I have bought over 45 vehicles from all over the country online etc and had them shipped in sight unseen with a very good experience. I decided more recently I would make my next purchases at a local Mercedes Benz dealership that I thought was or should be top notch prior to finding out otherwise. I purchase a 07 450GL in december from them, no real issues other then no follow up etc from my salesman after the sale. So I go back in January to trade my 06 Maserati in on a 05 SL500, here's where the real trouble and drama begins! I make an appointment to see this Don Steere the used car manager to have my vehicle appraised, I wait for him to finish with someone else and he does his thing and says the salesman will get back with me. I come in to take delivery and all the sudden my trade now needs to go to southern mass so the Maserati dealer can give ole Don the seal of approval before we can wrap it up! This wasn't on the agenda prior but I allowed for this delay even though Holloway sells their vehicles state insp as is as shown with no warranty. That evening I decided rather then jumping through hoops I would put my trade on ebay and I sold it for 2k more then trade allowance in 10 minutes! So i pull the trade from the picture still pay their full asking price, go to take delivery and I had prior advised my salesman to ensure the spare key the owners books and nav disc as well as throw in two key chains for each of the vehicles i just purchased especially since i just gave them 53,000$. Go to take car for demo drive and ask my salesman did you get these items together, oh we don't have a spare key and this has the keyless go feature so you shouldn't need another key! I said this will be a we owe item then as I expect two keys incase something goes wrong with this only key. They send the car out to service to see what key is needed to be ordered, where a tech tells me by the way this key is not a keyless go key (as I was told it was)also ole Don Steere comments "I'm going to yell at who ever promised this key as it goes for 500 bucks". they order I come in and i'm told take this new key home do this and that and it will be all set. Well get home and this key is not a keyless go key so it won't program. I go back to dealership and they need to order another key, while there I said I would like a print out of what you did to car to get it ready for resale, low and behold they don't even change the oil from the prior owners on both of my recently purchased vehicles and the SL they have no clue when it was changed! They install used tires to save the Used car manager $$$$$ and increase his department gross profits at the purchasers expense. This is insane, and the only dealership I have run across cutting these kind of corners! Don't let the Pretty Pics of the used car in front of the Benz dealer fool you, it's bargain basement service when it comes to getting them ready for resale. The service due light was blinking in my face at time of delivery I had to have them reset it and Don Steere said a tech checked the oil but we will GOOD WILL the oil change that should have been done as part of used car resale prep! Checked the oil how, smelled, tasted, had it chemical analyzed. They had no record when the last owner did it, this is the life blood of the engine that I'm buying with no warranty at 67k miles so oil should have been all set! As far as my GL450 goes it still has the old oil from june and the prior owner 4k miles worth of use so I will be changing this at my dealership at my expense. I asked my salesman about the 27.00 key chains and was told if I didn't have to get you a spare key you could have as many as you wanted, thus I was only allowed the SL key chain! I went on ebay and bought the GL key chain for 5.00! I have spent days and hours in their service dept getting my vehicles we owed items etc, I feel like I have lived there! I do give high marks to the service crew as they are pretty good at what they do. I work in sales and jump through hoops for my clients so this whole experience just blows my mind! Nowadays customer care is of top priority so I would think the local Benz dealer would be all over that! Needless to say when I'm ready for my next high line toy it won't be from Holloway even if they were the only dealer on earth! I could have went to any cut rate used car dealer for this kind of treatment. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC CHECK THEIR VEHICLES OUT THROUGHLY PRIOR TO PURCHASE AND ASK EVERY ROUTINE QUESTION IMAGINABLE PRIOR TO PURCHASE IF YOU MUST PURCHASE USED HERE. P.S. latest developement, Mercedes had me take GL to Holloway to enable the "onstar type feature" for trial period to see if I wish to get subscription, well after 2 days in the service dept I'm told it needs like a 1500$ computer replaced to make it work lol. PASS ON THAT! 5 year old vehicle with a bad computer, the outer window trim peeling and corporate saying "The dealer tries to make them in pristine cond" lol thats a laugh! Don't every expect that corporate will step up for you as they have little interest from the CEO executive office in Montvale NJ. I will give Kudos to Jason in service, he's excellent and should be president of the Dealership! More
