I have always had a very positive experience at MB of Hagerstown. The waiting area is very comfortable and the staff keep you up-to-date on the progress of your vehicle. The reason(s) I keep coming back to this dealership is my service rep, Alex Folz, and the service manager, Marty Gillions. They seem to understand that, as a single woman, I have to be able to depend on the service rep, Alex Folz, and the service manager, Marty Gillions. They seem to understand that, as a single woman, I have to be able to depend on the vehicle I drive, without being able to understand the "workings" of the vehicle! As always my experience for service was excellent. I would like to comment that I was recently in Salt Lake City, Utah and needed service there at the Garff Dealership. I was pleasantly surprised to find that before giving me back my car, not only did they wash it but they vacuumed the inside as well....... What a treat that was! I would like to recommend that my favorite Mercedes Dealership in Hagerstown adopt that practice...... :) More
8/28/10 -- very happy with paint scratch gratis repair Mercedes of Hagerstown folks made. The major issue I have and discussed at length with Marty is the misunderstanding concerning scratch, paint and dent repair plan underwritten by CertifiedPLUS for $675.00 we purchased in 2008. At the time of our C300 purchase, we asked Michael Lavrenchik about matching touch-up paint. Michael proceeded to tell us about a great scratch, paint and dent repair plan Mercedes of Hagerstown was offering that would automatically repair all minor parking lot type injuries. We were led to believe all we needed to do is make an appointment and bring our C300 into the dealership to have the minor repair fixed at no charge for a 4 yr period. Unfortunately, we didn't read all of the fine print before purchasing the plan or we would have realized Michael had not pointed out an important restricting feature of the plan. Had we been aware of this we would not have purchased the plan. We read the contract and discovered plan covers only the auto insurance deductible for non-collision related damage to our C300. Furthermore, the plan only pays if the cost of the repair exceeds the deductable. Marty indicated we should contact Justin; general manager, and complain. I mentioned 8/28/10 feed-back email and was told by Marty email response would be a good method to apprise Justin of our displeasure. More
This dealership is by far the best service dept for Mercedes in the DC metro area. I have to say that the above comment surprised me as well. There are only 3 major Mercedes dealers in the DC area (what's with that?), and after trying the other two and being very disappointed with both pricing and service quality at the two in the Arlington and Tyson's area, I decided to try the third in Hagerstown. The difference is phenomenal -- the same service on the same car was approximately half the price, and was done on time, on budget with no surprises and no hassles. The service staff are competent, friendly and trustworthy to treat your car as if it were their own in terms of not doing unecessary things or telling you honestly when it'd be cheaper or better to go somewhere else. They recently were able to solve a surface paint problem that I'd been quoted $2500 at another dealer -- for nothing. Yes - zero. They were creative about trying some novel ideas, and they worked it out. You can't but respect that. That's the kind of initiative that deserves reward. Yes, it's a 45 mile drive from DC, but it's totally worth it More
I was more than pleased with this recent service experience. First off, I was scheduled as soon as possible. I was given several reminders as the appointment date approached. I was given the price for replacement parts, but Mr. Foltz recommended they try to repair the items first. I was given an estimate that was reasonable, but when the work was completed, the actual cost was considerably less. I was totally pleased with the workmanship. There was no evidence of the original problem when I drove my vehicle home. Because the work was estimated to be several hours, I was given transportation home and then picked up after the work was completed. The driver, Mr. Turner, was a very enjoyable person to be around. During our conversation, we found out we had mutual acquaintecees. As I waited briefly in the customer area, I spoke with another customer from out of state. He said he goes considerably out of his way to come to this dealership after using another that could not compare to the service he received at MCB of Hagerstown. Service advisor was very friendly and accomodating for getting car serviced and loaner car provided. She also kept me up to date on additional services that were needed. Dealership maintained my loaner information from previous service so I did not have to fill out any additional forms, saving me more time. I pulled the car in upon arrival and was able to speak with the service advisor immediately and drive off in the loaner in minutes. The service advisor called and confirmed my approval for additional items needing servicing and the car was ready to go at the end of the day. However, given that I needed to work late it was not a problem to take the loaner home and pick up the car the next day. The car was washed and ready to go and I was able to leave in minutes. More
