I was misinformed about the mileage as well as courtesy services the dealer offers. I was offered all-weather mats that were the wrong size, without replacement. And my vehicle is in need of service just 4 days after pickup. I leased a 2019 GLC 300 as a part of the courtesy loaner vehicle program that I picked up last Thursday, 7/11/19. I worked with Kari, and her patience and demeanor were exceptional, but there have been a few occasions where I believe she overstepped or provided information that wasn’t entirely accurate. I was given a Carfax that reported 922mi on the odometer. I was told I couldn’t yet pick up the vehicle when I visited the dealer on Monday 7/8/19 because it was being loaned out to a Mercedes customer. Not until the day I came to collect the vehicle, after I was requested to place a deposit on file, was I told that the vehicle instead had 5,167mi. I am a very low mileage driver and was attracted by the residual offer to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease, and had been running my strategy based on the Carfax reported mileage. In the dealers defense, they did not know exactly what the mileage would be until it was returned. However, their story seemed a bit odd. They told me the car had been loaned for 2wks in Bend, OR. Bend is 176mi from the dealership. When subtracting the pick up and drop off mileage, the remaining difference is 3895mi. This means that the driver who loaned the vehicle put an average of 285mi per day on the road, which seems extremely excessive. Not sure I’m getting the whole story from Mercedes as to how the odometer climbed to such heights, but I decided to lease anyway. When I got the keys, Kari and I looked over the vehicle together. In the trunk of the car, we discovered some all-season weather mats. To this she commented, “oh great, looks like we have some all weather mats for you as well!”. I purchased the vehicle with road/mountain trips in mind, so I was thrilled about the heavy duty rubber floor mats. I met with Robert at the dealership today for a scheduled visit to go over the cars features. Robert was exceptional, very knowledgeable and helpful. After meeting with him, it began to rain, so I went to swap my carpeted mats for the all-weathers, only to find they were the wrong size. I talked to Kari, and she apologized, but informed me that this car was not supposed to come with the mats. Once again, not the end of the world, but more misinformation. I had the car washed after our chat, and hopped back in only to find that the Bluetooth connectivity no longer worked for audio. A tech began troubleshooting with me, but was unable to resolve the issue. I’ve had the car for four days. I was instructed to contact Kari, and Kari instructed me to contact service. It was unfortunate to need to schedule maintenance just days after collecting my vehicle, but I understand that these things happen. I was also looking forward to taking advantage of the concierge service that was sold to me as a benefit of being a mercedes of Beaverton customer by Kari. After calling the service department to schedule my maintenance, they informed me that this program is not yet in effect, and that I’d need to drive my vehicle to the dealership instead of having it picked up from my home by a technician (and having a loaner left behind), as I was informed during the sales process. I love my car, but this “courtesy loaner” promo has all sorts of hiccups to work out. I loved working with Kari, but she should have led on that the miles could be much higher. She should have checked on the all-weather mats before offering them to me. And she should have told me the concierge service for maintenance is still in the works, instead of selling it to me as part of being a “Mercedes of Beaverton customer”. Not the happiest consumer at the moment. Mistakes happen, but I’d assumed that a Mercedes dealership would hold themselves a bit more accountable throughout my lackluster experience. More
