Wayne and his manager were very easy to talk to and did not hesitate to explain in detail the features and financial aspects of the vehicle we purchased. I went to the dealership seeing to replace the 2004 M-B vehicle I currently owned. I was interested in both the C300 and the GLK350. Michelle was also extremely helpful with financing and was also very friendly. Although we were buying a used car that was certainly on the low price spectrum for this dealership, and not a high-end Mercedes that is clearly their bread and butter, we were treated as if we were buying the most expensive car on the lot. My husband and I had been talking about buying a new car for several months but had not made any decision about what we wanted. We were leaning toward a small 4-wheel drive SUV but as we did our research, for several months but had not made any decision about what we wanted. We were leaning toward a small 4-wheel drive SUV but as we did our research, nothing really grabbed us as being exactly what we were looking for. Several weeks ago we decided to take a look at the luxury cars available just to be sure we didn’t want to go that direction. We really assumed we would just look at some luxury cars and go back to our idea of a small SUV. Last Saturday (April 9) we stopped in at Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis just to look at what was available. As we walked into the dealership we were greeted warmly by several of the salespeople. Steve McElroy came over to us and asked if he could help us. I told him we were looking for a car but we had no idea what we wanted. I told him what I was currently driving and that I wanted something new or newer and with a few more features than I had. He asked what price range we wanted to be in so I told him and said that we would probably have to look at the used cars. Steve asked me a few more questions, listened very carefully to what we said and then told us that we could definitely find a new Mercedes in our price range if we chose to go that route. Or that he would be very happy to show us what they had available in the used cars they had. We decided to look at the new ones first just to get an idea of what was available in our price range. To make a long story short, we narrowed it down to a 2011 GLK or an E-350 4-Matic and got stuck there. Steve arranged for us to drive both cars and was very knowledgeable about the features of both. We spent the rest of the afternoon getting in and out of both models and comparing and contrasting the features of each. The whole time, Steve stayed with us and answered all our questions and made recommendations based on what he heard us say and his perceptions of what we would like. Steve very quickly got to know us and was able to help us make the right decision for us but never made us feel like he was pressuring us in any way toward either vehicle or toward even buying one from him that day. This was definitely the easiest car purchase we have ever made. We spent the whole day with Steve and left there without giving him a definite decision. We had decided to take one of our old cars to Carmax the next day to see what we could get for it and then decide about the Mercedes. At this point we knew that the E-350 would be the best car for our needs but weren’t sure we were ready to do the deal yet. Once we got the price from Carmax we took the old car to Steve for him to price a trade-in value and were pleasantly surprised to find out that with the sales tax benefit of a trade-in, the 2 deals were a break-even. So we traded in the old car and finished the deal on the new E-350. The Annapolis dealership didn’t have the exact car we had decided on in stock so Steve searched other dealers over a couple nearby states and found the perfect one on Monday at another dealer. They arranged to have the car brought to Annapolis Monday evening and we were able to pick it up Tuesday afternoon. Steve spent several hours with us going through all the features and made sure we understood everything we needed to know about our new car to be able to operate all the basic features and had a good head start on learning all the extras that will take a little longer to learn about. Throughout the whole process Steve was very friendly and helpful without being pushy. In fact, we joked that we were becoming “new best friends”. The financing of the new car with Michele Mitchell-Nordquist was also a very pleasant experience. In fact, I can even say that Michele made the whole process fun. She is extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions and was just a delight to work with. She was very patient as we asked to review the transaction several time to make sure we understood everything. All in all, our whole experience with Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis and in particular with Steve McElroy and Michele Mitchell-Nordquist was the best car-buying experience we have ever had. We would definitely recommend this dealership and these specific people to anyone looking to buy a car. And we absolutely love our new Mercedes E-350. One last note, one of the things that Steve covered very thoroughly when we picked up our car was how to use the Mercedes mbrace system. This turned out to be extremely fortunate for me since 3 days after picking up my new car, I was rear-ended at a stop light on my way to work. The car functioned exactly as it should have and, because Steve had been so thorough in explaining the mbrace system, I was able to sit in my car and summon help and the police without having to think about what to do next. The mbrace operator was wonderful and even stayed on the line with me until the police arrived so I wasn’t alone. Once the police report was filed, I immediately called Steve and he was very helpful with explaining how to go about making sure I was able to get the damages fixed by a Mercedes-certified body shop.
