Won't return phone call and/or e-mails! This is our first VW and I don't think we will be purchasing another because of the poor customer service and the dealership not standing behind their work! It is such a simple fix but I guess it isn't important to them to have happy customers. Happy customers mean return visits and great references - which is not the case. More

I was called directly from McKenna VW in Huntington Beach about a $59 special they were having for an oil change, multipoint inspection, rotate tires ect. I thought this was too good of a deal to pass up so about a $59 special they were having for an oil change, multipoint inspection, rotate tires ect. I thought this was too good of a deal to pass up so of course I scheduled an appointment two days before Christmas. I drop my car off and I get a call a few hours later that some work needed to be done on my car. The first thing was that my rotors needed to be replaced which would only cost $611. Second is to replace my expansion tank due to a leak another $200. Oh but if I got the work done now they would give my a 10% discount. Um sorry I don't have $800 laying around especially before Christmas! I declined and said I would call back to get the work done later. So I go to pick up my car and start to drive it home. I was driving for no more than 5 minutes and mind you I am with my two children in the back of the car. My car starts to smoke from the hood and I get a disturbing message on my dashboard to check coolant and to stop the car. I immediately pull over because I do not want to take any chances and put my children and myself in any danger. I call the service advisor Eric Lopez and tell him the situation. I asked to have someone pick us up. He said he can get their shuttle service to pick us up but if he called a tow truck I would have to pay for it! I asked why this was happening and he said it was the expansion tank issue that he advised me of earlier. Remember I simply went in for an oil change and was not getting this message before!! I had no other option other then to take it back to the dealership. Luckily I have AAA and had my car towed back to this horrible dealership. They supposedly fixed the problem which cost me another $168. I will never take my car there again. I also had another mechanic check my rotors and they said they were fine and good for another 100,000 miles!!! This dealership is not only dishonest they do not care what so ever about their customers. They will do anything for their commission even if its endangering peoples lives BTW I also bought this car from them and have had nothing but problems. More

Barry was a pro. He answered all my questions, and spent the time with us to test drive on the first day and put the deal together the next day. I have been a customer of McKenna Volkswagen going on 10 years now. Most of my experience has been through the Service Department, as I have owned several used VWs not bought from this dealership. The customer service I received has always been excellent, especially as I am a technically knowledgeable person and can at times have very specific needs or requests. If something goes as unanticipated or could cause me any inconvenience whatsoever, the staff has consistently surprised me with the lengths they'll go to either make it right or provide value beyond the work originally requested. Then there's Romy. I'll be honest, while the super-clean facilities and pleasant decor (all kinds of awesome collectibles on display!) are one thing... Romy is the reason I keep coming back. Not only is he hilarious, he knows his product (check out the huge amount of awards on his desk!) and is the most no-frills guy I have ever met in the car sales business; always gives it to you straight, and my oh my does he have a way to get you exactly the deal you want. Recently he worked for months to find me a generally rare, unavailable model... only instead to have me driving off the lot in less than two hours(!) with the GTI I always wanted (been test driving, with Romy, every model year since 2003) at a price and package I never thought I could afford. Dream come true, and let's all be honest here... who doesn't want to walk away from a dealership with their dignity intact? Romy will do that for you. More

My experience with McKenna Volkswagen began as a internet inquiry. Shortly after I submitted it, I received a call from John. John was very professional and answered my questions without pressuring me to buy inquiry. Shortly after I submitted it, I received a call from John. I sent John several e-mails and he replied very quickly, answering my questions and also making some good suggestions regarding different options to buying a vehicle. Great customer service. Based on my interaction with John and getting good information, my wife and I chose to drive 150 miles to give our business to McKenna Volkswagen, when we could have gone to a dealer located about 50 miles away from us. Once we arrived at the dealer we were greeted by Ian and he told us John became ill and was not at the dealer. Ian was very helpful, he looked at the e-mails between John and I, so I did not have to repeat our conversations. We picked out a Passat, test drove it, and Ian handled the paperwork. We were passed on to Cindy in financing who was very friendly and had a great personality, which was refreshing especially when it comes down to the "money" part and it took less than 30 minutes. It all ended with Kelly delivering the car to us and walking us through the ins and outs of the vehicle. Our overall experience was GREAT!!! You could tell this was a team effort and the customer definitely came first. Never, did we feel any pressure to make a purchase but it was easy for us to make that decision based on the customer care we were shown by the staff. I would definitely recommend buying a car from McKenna VW. More
