Kevin at McGrath Volvo Barrington recently helped us in purchasing our pre-owned Volvo S90 T6 Inscription. We not only love the car, but loved the overall experience at the dealership. Although Kevin was v purchasing our pre-owned Volvo S90 T6 Inscription. We not only love the car, but loved the overall experience at the dealership. Although Kevin was very busy taking care of other customers, he made sure that we were always updated, and kept us informed every step of the way. He even went out of his way to grant several of our requests and address several of our concerns. It was a no pressure buying experience, with a fix pricing model that is very competitive. I would buy from McGrath Volvo Barrington again. Look for Kevin S., if you plan to purchase your next car fro McGratch Volvo Barrington! More
Walked in to test drive a car. Told them my lease was up in 3 months and I was deciding between their car and 1 other. They had a 50/50 shot at my business. Since I didn't have an appt, they said we'd have in 3 months and I was deciding between their car and 1 other. They had a 50/50 shot at my business. Since I didn't have an appt, they said we'd have to come back when we had an appointment. Didn't even try to help us. Very disappointed at their approach to customer service. Guy at front desk came across as arrogant. Just reaffirmed for us that we should keep our business with their competitor. More
I have reported them to the better business bureau to have their membership revoked. I was almost scammed out of $10k. Then I got the run around with a manager and told me my parents could help pay. I am have their membership revoked. I was almost scammed out of $10k. Then I got the run around with a manager and told me my parents could help pay. I am a 30 something female executive. The abysmal treatment I received will go down as the worst business experience I have ever had. With no integrity it is simply impossible for one to feel okay doing business with this establishment. I really want to tell you about a horrible service experience at McGrath Volvo Cars Barrington. The reason for my last visit on 01/082021 was to replace the driver's seat heater. Having stated the pro experience at McGrath Volvo Cars Barrington. The reason for my last visit on 01/082021 was to replace the driver's seat heater. Having stated the problem, McGrath Volvo Cars Barrington acknowledged the problem and agreed to replace the element under warranty with a delivery time of 4-5 business days. As a result, Mark Kuzniar (Assistant Service Manager) made an appointment with me two weeks later on 22/01/2012. Before handing over the car, I showed Mark that all the parts in the interior were clean and undamaged, to which he agreed. I asked how long the service would take ? Mark said about 2-2.5 hours. As a result I was in the service for 4.5 hours. After getting the car back I found out that the driver's door trim and steering wheel was damaged. Later I also found scratches on the plastic and leather of the armrest cover. After inspecting the damage, Mark told me that the scratch on the door trim was deep and they would replace it under warranty and that he would contact me shortly. On Saturday 23/01/2012 Mark contacted me and told me that they could not replace the parts under warranty and offered to do an alignment as compensation, I refused and asked for my request, to replace the damaged parts. On Monday I sent an email to Bogdan Chmielewski (Service Manager) with the question. What options could they offer to remedy the situation and how will they compensate my time? The answer was "We already re-balanced your tires in your last visit at the expense of service. Alignment we could do complimentary if you decide to replace your tires, here. As for replacing your interior parts, we will decline. Unfortunately with removal of a seat sometimes damage does occur which is why we waive responsibility in all cases. On the repair order with your signature, it states "we are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicle". Granted mistakes do happen and Mark had offered for our interior repair company to do repairs. If you decide to get it done let us know and we will schedule.» After calling Mark several times, he offered me the option of Friday at 10 a.m. On Saturday 23/01/2012 Mark contacted me and told me that they could not replace the parts under warranty and offered to do an alignment as compensation, I refused and asked for my request, to replace the damaged parts. The used car description stated a 1-year satellite subscription would be offered. The dealership claimed that was the "original description" that was written when the car was new. Since this was a us subscription would be offered. The dealership claimed that was the "original description" that was written when the car was new. Since this was a used car being sold, they would not honor it. I suggested they should have edited the description prior to marketing the car. They denied my request to offer the 1-year subscription. Very disappointing when the dealership prides itself on integrity and welcoming you to the "family" Lesson learned: Don't drive off the lot until all of your questions are answered. We asked several times about "how to activate the subscription" and were not given an answer. After being at the dealership 7 hours buying the car, it got lost in the shuffle. We inquired the next morning and were told it was not available. The back peddling started. Very disappointed. It was not honored. More
A big congratulations to McGrath Volvo Cars Barrington and special thank you to Adam S., Kaye D., and Ali K. for selling my wife and I a new XC 60 last night. Not only did the McGrath team intention and special thank you to Adam S., Kaye D., and Ali K. for selling my wife and I a new XC 60 last night. Not only did the McGrath team intentionally mislead us throughout the day with ambiguous language around the terms and all-in price of the car, but then proceeded to subject us to a 3+ hour wait starting at 6:30pm when we arrived to close on the car to further confuse the contract terms and disguise their intentions. Proceed with caution if you decide to visit McGrath Volvo of Barrington – but really, save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere. We certainly will be in the future. More
Had an appointment with Adam, yet we never even met him. I emailed Adam a few times regarding an XC60. This was during the Covid 19 lock down, so I needed an appointment to see the vehicle. Adam suggeste I emailed Adam a few times regarding an XC60. This was during the Covid 19 lock down, so I needed an appointment to see the vehicle. Adam suggested a time that worked for him, I agreed to be there. We arrived at our scheduled time and were greeted by one of the runners. He told us Adam was busy right now but he would get us the keys to the car we were interested in. Amid Covid-19, the runner said he had to ride with us on the test drive, "its their policy". This seemed crazy and against the law right now! We pushed back and he finally agreed to let us drive the car alone, with our insurance card and drivers L, no problem... we were happy to provide that. After the test drive, we liked the car. Still no Adam. Now the guy who just finished telling us he had to go fill up some other cars with gas, is apparently our sales person! He sits behind a desk and tries to negotiate with us! I have no problem working with anyone, as long as they can make a decision. But, this guy is running back and forth to I assume Adam... who is feeding him with what to say! It was bad flash back to how awful car buying was 30 years ago. This would have been my 4th Volvo so I'm not new to the car buying experience and I've never been treated so rudely, not by the runner but the sales person, Adam who we had an appointment with. We never even met him! Why did we drive an hour for an appointment at his suggested time if he isn't available? Its disappointing because we really liked the car and were ready to buy it. Once it became apparent that the running back and forth was our car buying experience we realized our business didn't matter and we left. Save yourself the trip, compare this dealership to Volvo of Lisle or Volvo of Oak Park both have better reviews and now I know why. More
