We bought a used Volvo XC90 back in June 2025. Within 3 days we had our mechanic inspect the vehicle and were told about suspension issues that needed immediate attention. We returned the vehicle to McGrath and were told the issue had been fixed. Within 12 months and less than 6k in miles the issue has resurfaced only the dealership claims this is not the same problem and is quoting $3k in additional expenses to fix. In addition, since purchasing an “inspected and reliable used Volvo” there have been issues with the air compressor which controls the suspension, a leaking sunroof, faulty drive train assembly and other minor issues. This dealership does not care about their clients, the Volvo brand or anything g other than their profit. When asked to speak to the owner for a resolution, the personnel refuse to help and hang up. By far one of the worst car dealerships I’ve ever dealt with. More

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership, and unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. Shortly after leaving the dealership, I noticed that a small piece was missing from t unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. Shortly after leaving the dealership, I noticed that a small piece was missing from the front bumper of the vehicle. I contacted my salesperson Julio, who told me he would look into the issue and get back to me by the following Monday. Despite that promise, I never received any follow-up communication. To make matters worse, I was pulled over on my drive home because the vehicle did not have a front license plate installed. As an Illinois resident, I later learned that front license plates are required. This is something that should have been addressed before the vehicle was delivered. The finance department created even more frustration. The finance manager Preet was overly pushy throughout the process and continued trying to sell additional products after I had clearly declined multiple times. The payment process was then mishandled. The finance manager Preet attempted to deposit my check twice without signing it, which caused my bank to reject it both times. Because of this mistake, I had to obtain a replacement check. Despite the delay being caused by the dealership's handling of the payment, I was later pressured to drive more than two hours to personally deliver the replacement check because the dealership had been waiting 15 days for payment. I explained that the delay was the result of the finance manager's (Preets) actions, not mine, and mailed the check instead. After I mailed the replacement check, I specifically asked the finance manager to notify me when it was received. Once again, I received no follow-up communication. The common theme throughout my experience was poor communication and a lack of follow-through. Whether it was the salesperson failing to return calls about the missing bumper piece or the finance department mishandling the payment process, I repeatedly found myself dealing with problems that should have been avoided. While I am happy with the vehicle itself, the customer service I received before and after the sale fell well below my expectations. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. More
