Felt at ease and smooth process! After several weeks of research for a used Honda CR-V, finally came across 2 at this dealer. Went in on a weekday night, was instantly greeted by the manager and he showed us over to Max. He was very nice and easy to talk to, explained a lot of our options regarding the car and financing. Didn't seem like he was trying to lowball us or make us get any "additional" things with the deal that we didn't need. We went back the next day as it was getting late to purchase the car. The paperwork did take forever, but we were able to leave with the car. Easy process for the most part, Max was really great and helpful! Would definitely recommend him if you are searching for a car at St. Charles. Even after purchasing the car (which was certified), there were a couple of things on the report that were overlooked and he told me to bring in the car, took it back in on a Saturday morning when it was really busy, and he was able to have it looked at and fixed without a problem. I was communicating with Riley and Jade and explained our situation. Two young kids, 2 hrs away, want to be in and out because of covid and kids. I did the finance application online, the trade in value, etc. I confirmed our appointment with Jade and again explained our situation on our way out, I also confirmed the trade in calculation with Riley of how accurate it was. I got there and found out that Jade was only online, would have been nice to know. I was switched to a new sales rep that showed us the car we wanted. He was friendly and helpful and I feel bad he got mixed in with this review. We were at the dealership for almost 4 hours. It was a total mess. They low balled us on our trade in. This car was certified and we found out after that they charge an additional $1500 on top of the price. On top of that, my husband test drove the car and mentioned that he felt that the rotors were worn. We were told that it they were new and just needed to be driven with. We didn't believe that, but was told that we could bring it in any honda dealership to get it fixed and that it was covered. Nevertheless, the rotors only got worst and we set an appointment 6 days later to a dealership by us only to find out we had to drive the 2 hrs away again to have Mcgrath fix it,.. I had a screaming kid with me while they were throwing numbers at me and kept trying to negotiate on payment plan instead of the actual price of vehicle and trade in. Once we finally got to the finance department (by this time my kids were totally losing it), we were then tried upselling on additional coverage. We denied and he left the office for a long time. He came back saying that they wanted to give us the key replacement regardless. At this point, I'm exhausted. My kids are exhausted and we are just wanting to go home, knowing we had a 2hr drive ahead of us. When I finally got the chance to look at the documents we signed, I saw the $1500.50 additional charge to our vehicle (which I was told was for certification) and $600 for the keys insurance, which we denied and was told it was added for free.. Not pleasant at all. Love the car, hate the process and unjustly dealership we ended up dealing with. I don't blame Max for any of this, he was very friendly and was trying to get us out as quickly as possible. The communication was terrible from the beginning. Would have been so nice to know that who I was talking to, would not be who I was dealing with in person. I felt taken advantage of during the process of purchasing the vehicle and signing paperwork. More

Buyer beware of bait and switch practice at McGrath Honda at St Charles. I verified the year, model, features and color with their best offer price via text. Twice. I excitedly went into the dealership to fi at St Charles. I verified the year, model, features and color with their best offer price via text. Twice. I excitedly went into the dealership to finalize and then was told it was a mistake. The exchange at the dealership made me feel defensive, like I had to prove what was agreed (which I did since I had the texts) I wonder how often this practice occurs?? Needless to say I am not giving this dealership my business. More
