Scammers I went in to check out prices for Tuscon and Santa Fe. When he brought the price, it had the "McGrath package". I asked what is the McGrath package an I went in to check out prices for Tuscon and Santa Fe. When he brought the price, it had the "McGrath package". I asked what is the McGrath package and why it was $ 2,000. Then he told me that it was for a blinking brake light, pinstripes, door guards and nitrogen air in the tires. When he told me this I was in disbelief. $2,000 for a 20$ blinking light, 40$ door guards, and 20$ pinstripes. He continued to pressure me that this is the standard price. Finally, he agreed to take off the package because we both knew it was bs. By this time, I was already feeling taken advantage of and like he was intentionally trying to deceive me. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They try to add on 100$ worth of garbage that is totally unnecessary and try to take advantage of people by asking them to pay $2,000 for it. More

Terrible experience This is as much of a negative review for McGrath City Hyundai as it is for Hyundai Motor Finance at the corporate level. I leased a 2015 Hyundai So This is as much of a negative review for McGrath City Hyundai as it is for Hyundai Motor Finance at the corporate level. I leased a 2015 Hyundai Sonata 4-door Sedan SE from Hyundai of Bedford in Bedford, OH in September of 2015. The experience was very straight-forward, my monthly lease payment was what I generally expected to pay, and the overall 3-year experience of the lease term with the Sonata was decent. Based off of this experience after relocating to Chicago this year, I decided to lease again with Hyundai by starting with a visit to Hyundai of Bedford. The first red flag was that the lease pricing was ambiguous. Other vehicles on their lot such as the 2018 Accent were less expensive vehicles overall, but their lease pricing was higher. I made it explicitly clear to Marco that I had no particular interest in SE's or anything else that had potential to mark up the price, but I still felt like I was persuaded into getting a vehicle that was more than what I could have paid for a vehicle of lesser features. Nonetheless, I left the dealership somewhat hastily with a new 3-year lease of a 2018 Hyundai Elantra SE. The second red flag was the negotiating process. I left the dealership under the impression that we had agreed upon the remaining lease payment for the last month on my 2015 Sonata being taken care of by McGrath City Hyundai, particularly negotiated by the down payment I provided. I received no details as to how McGrath City Hyundai would be paying this remaining lease payment on my Hyundai Finance account for the Sonata, which I expressed in a survey result after leasing the Elantra. Since these details weren't properly asserted in our written agreement when I leased the Elantra, that's when the trouble began. The dealership tried to assert that they didn't agree to pay on my old lease. They made me feel like I was trying to be dishonest with them and what we had agreed upon, when in reality I was certain that we did. This is truly when the whirlwind of what became a series of almost 15-20 calls over the course of the past 3 months started: calling Marco at the dealership to get things moving with their payments on my old lease to Hyundai Motor Finance, talking to the financial manager at McGrath City Hyundai, talking to Marco time and again, talking to the sales manager at McGrath City Hyundai, etc. The bulk of these calls were involved with getting my balance straightened out with Hyundai Motor Finance. They had issues with editing my remaining balance on the Sonata to properly reflect payments that were made both by myself and by McGrath City Hyundai to pay the balance down. They tried to initially deny my eligibility to have the $400 vehicle inspection and up to $500 in damage fees waived as they had promised if I made the decision to lease again with Hyundai. After various series of waiting—in some cases day-to-day and in others week-to-week—on confirmation that things were finally taken care of and my Hyundai Finance account was officially closed out as it related to the Sonata, I finally received a notification in the mail that my account was supposedly closed. Today, however, my credit report got knocked down 40 points because Equifax is seeing my account with the Sonata—still—as being past due. All of this would have had the potential to be mitigated if any combination of Marco Lozano, Dave Glas, or anyone in management at McGrath City Hyundai was proactive and willing to work with me and Hyundai Finance to get this resolved. I have received zero followup from Marco or anyone at McGrath City Hyundai since I have been dealing with Hyundai Motor Finance on this issue, and my credit score has suffered as a result. They happily roped me in for the sale and completely abandoned me to my own devices to figure this out. Truly an awful experience that has left me in a position of considering legal action. More
