The Best I was in yesterday and purchased my 3rd Hyundai in a year from the guys at McGrath. Due to my financial situation I have had to make sudden changes in I was in yesterday and purchased my 3rd Hyundai in a year from the guys at McGrath. Due to my financial situation I have had to make sudden changes in my lifestyle and when I go in Frank and Jody never question, they just help me and smile. So I definately will recommend McGrath City Hyundai to everyone I know, they do not act like a business, they take it personal and I love them for that! More

With that said, I must say that Christine Tonelli in customer service was great! She was friendly, efficient, and just seems to be an overall good person. She did make our experience better with her help, she definitely showed a sense of empathy which was very appreciated. Christine definitely does her job, and she does it well! It's a shame that the other empoyees here can't seem to have that same level of professionalism or kindness, such as our salesmen, Robert Gil who seemed uninterested and bothered by having to be there. The manager, Joe Falzone, seemed like he truly tried to rectify the unique situation with the vehicle we purchased, he was forthcoming and honest to the mistakes made by the dealership and took steps to make it right. Buyer Beware Do yourself a favor and avoid dealing with them. My bad experience started when I received a TrueCar price from them that they didn't honor. Their c Do yourself a favor and avoid dealing with them. My bad experience started when I received a TrueCar price from them that they didn't honor. Their claim was that TrueCar sent over that I was eligible for Hyundai previous owner discount. I confirmed with the other dealers I got offers from that their did not get this information. Then they when we started talking price, they calculated interest "incorrectly" and wanted any negotiations to start with that number. They had tacked on $900 in additional interest to the loan, and said they'd take approximate $500 off the final price. When I said take $600 total off the price of the car and calculate interest correctly, they told me they did not calculate interest wrong. Basically they had built in a $900 buffer to negotiate with and I caught them. I dealt with Frank Torres and Christain, his manager. Buyer beware if you deal with them. Hyundai's are great cars and you'll will be much happier if you give your money to someone else. UPDATE 4/21/2014: After writing this review I was contacted by McGrath, in hopes of rectifying the poor service. They offered me $400 more than their previous offer. I also found out that McGrath calculates tax incorrectly as well. They, calculate tax on the purchase before the trade-in. In the state of Illinois you deduct the price of any trade-in before calculating tax, not to mention they misquoted the tax I was required to pay by .25%. This translated into an additional $100 added to the cost of the car. Frank also got re-involved and was quite frustrated with the fact I caught him on every game he tried to play. I again urge everyone going to McGrath to look at the entire price of their purchase to make sure hidden charges are not being added. More

The warranty by far exceeds all others and we understand why now. We were referred by a friend and coworker to McGrath Hyundai. He gave us Mike Richardson's business card and we called him, mind you after going to other Hyundai dealers that just didn't do it for us. He promptly called us back and invited us to visit. When we arrived he greeted us and we sat at his desk and discussed what we were looking for. We immediately felt comfortable with his respectful & kind demeanor. He walked us over to the lot and soon we were off test driving a few different Hyundai Sonata's, narrowing it down to a hybrid and a turbo. Mike is extremely knowledgeable about these cars. He went though every feature with us, popped the hood and trunk and explained everything thoroughly. It didn't take long to know what we really wanted. Once we made our decision Mike, Cristian & Jody worked with us to achieve our price point. Then it was off to Steve for financing and docs. They all made this process relaxing and enjoyable. They exceeded our expectations and we will be back for future purchases and we will refer everyone we know to them beginning with Mike of course. Thank you for making our purchase a pleasant one!
