DO NOT use this dealership for service or believe anything they say! I wish I would have read the previous comments about their service department prior to taking my car in but it was the closest de anything they say! I wish I would have read the previous comments about their service department prior to taking my car in but it was the closest dealer and I figured the McGrath brand still had value. They had our vehicle for over a month after telling us that we would have it back in 3-5 days (which is another reason we used them), and along the way DOUBLED our charges from the initial estimate. Good luck getting in contact with the service manager and your technician after they have your vehicle (they will never pick up), and don’t bother leaving a message as they will not call you back as previously stated in other complaints. Bottom line is this place is a TOTAL xxxxshow and I can’t believe the McGrath brand is associated with it. Mike Sr. would have never let this slide. More
Took my vehicle to McGrath City Hyundai for recommended service for transmission flush. My car immediately started experiencing declaration and stalling while in drive likes it's in the wrong gear, revving service for transmission flush. My car immediately started experiencing declaration and stalling while in drive likes it's in the wrong gear, revving up while driving and many more problems. I called McGrath City Hyundai aniut the problem and was told I have to let the fluid work through the system and then it will be ok. About 3wk after this service I'm still having these issues, but now i see fluid on my garage floor when backing out. I immediately took my vehicle to a hyundai dealership closest to my home and found out that the transmission service performed on my vehicle, they over filled the transmission and fluid was leaking out on all parts under the hood. Now it's unsafe to drive. I contact McGrath to inform them of the latest issues and was on hold for 40+mins before the customer service girl came back on the line to tell me they cannot get my vehicle in for over 2mos, and that is the best they could do. Unacceptable to me I contacted Hyundai Corporate to file a complaint. They told me their process is to reach out to McGrath City Hyundai to discuss the problem and resolution. After 3wk of Hyundai corporate trying to reach McGrath, McGrath City Hyundai never responded to Corporate by email or phone. McGrath never took accountability for damaging my vehicle. Now that my engine and transmission has been damaged, not to mention other parts that are damaged they still have not taking accountability. I intend to take all and any steps necessary to ensure that they are held accountable. I see why so many consumer are stepping away from Hyundai vehicles, and going to Toyota and Nissan, and for good reason. I myself will never buy another Hyundai. This was my 3rd Hyundai vehicle and the last. I am totally shocked and disappointed with Hyundai. More
Bait and switch! They dropped the online price of a used car and then added 7,000 in “non-negotiable” fees!! Wow, I said. “Sounds like you don’t want to sell this car at the advertised price.” We’re underwater on it, was the response. Well at least THAT was honest. The online “no surprises” cost estimate was very very different from their big surprise actual offer. 0/5 stars for honesty. More

Please avoid McGrath. I chose to buy my Hyundai at a different location because this location had negative reviews. Regardless, once I purchased my car, I knew that I'd be able to use this location for my service needs. I was looking forward to having a Hyundai service department so close to home. Last week I noticed a light on my dashboard. When I called McGrath to bring my car in, I spoke to many people who kept passing on the phone. Eventually, I was told I had to leave my car there for 24 hours in order to check the light. (Please note that I called multiple other Hyundais and NONE had the same policy.) I was told that I would not be guaranteed a rental car when I dropped off my car for 24 hours. I was rudely told that I could go pay to rent a car myself and it wasn't their problem if I couldn't afford that. Overall, there doesn't appear to be anyone in charge of this location. I've called numerous times to find a manager. Each person that I've spoken with has been aggressive and angry. More

Despite explicitly stating multiple times that I did not want an extended warranty, the financing manager added a $6,500 warranty to my account. I only discovered this issue after the purchase when I reviewed the documents stored on a USB stick provided by the dealership. I have been trying to resolve this problem for the past three months. I've reached out repeatedly via phone and email to have the unnecessary warranty removed from my account. Unfortunately, the financing manager has been unresponsive—he neither answers my calls nor replies to my emails. My experience with this dealership has been extremely disappointing, and I would strongly advise others to be cautious. Be sure to thoroughly review all paperwork and beware of unresponsive and unhelpful staff. More

Despite scheduling appointments and dropping off my car for simple services, I can never reach the service advisor for updates. They promise to leave a message, but I never receive a return call. I end up without my car for days, with no one able to provide any updates. In 2024, I would expect better technology to track service status. Even the link sent via text when you drop off your vehicle always shows “Arrival complete” with no further updates. The McGrath name used to stand for something, but not anymore. I’m considering switching to a brand that doesn’t rely on the dealership franchise model, like Tesla or Rivian. More
Absolutely horrible dealership and all I was doing was returning my leased Hyundai. Swindled me into then buying it from me by telling me that Hyundai Motor Finance would try to charge me for the car’s depreciation. Paid them a $400 disposition fee and then Hybdai Motor Finance informed me I don’t owe that becuase that is only for a lease return and the dealership bought it. I tried to contact them to get my $400 back, spoke to 3 different managers and none would call me back. Taking legal action. More
Worst place to purchase a car! Nobody cares afterwards. Managers & service managers don’t ever return calls. Don’t shop here. Nobody cares afterwards. Managers & service managers don’t ever return calls. Don’t shop here. More
I purchased a 2022 Kia Sorento on 2/14/24. I had a new salesman named Hunter who was very nice but not super familiar with the sales process so a manager helped him along the way. When I got t I had a new salesman named Hunter who was very nice but not super familiar with the sales process so a manager helped him along the way. When I got to the finance office there was over $3k for McGrath care that no one explained to me or offered to me. Instead, I felt they tried to sneak it in there and take advantage of the fact that I’m a woman who came alone with my two babies. Fast forward 9 weeks into ownership of this vehicle (that has 16k miles on it) and it stops accelerating- turns out I need a new transmission. Upon calling them to find out about getting my car into the shop I got the run around for 6 hours, no dealership would take my car for 3+weeks and when I asked to speak to a manager, my salesman Hunter called me back instead and basically told me had I purchased that McGrath care that I fought to have them take off maybe they would be able to help me. But I’m SOL. Thanks for selling me a lemon, trying to sneak a TON of fees into my sale, and for offering ZERO support or professionalism when it came down to the car not running two months later. I will never be back and will not recommend this dealership. Hunter and the supervisor that was helping him were kind when they were making the sale but that’s sales! I did not appreciate feeling that they took advantage of me having my babies with me and then certainly did not appreciate the disregard when the car they had sold me two months before was literally not drive able.
