Yesterday, February 17, 2021, I was walking out to my driveway to start the car to Where do I begin? I purchased a 2019 Honda Hrv in February 2019. Yesterday, February 17, 2021, I was walking out to my driveway to start the car to head out to work. Car wouldn’t start. I called the dealership and the service department recommended I call roadside assistance as my car is still under warranty. The warranty is three years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. I called roadside assistance however I was on hold for sometime and figured since the weather was really bad that it would take forever for a representative to come and tow the car to the dealership in order for the car to be diagnosed with the issue. I decided to hang up the phone and head over to a local AutoZone to purchase a new car battery which was over $200.00. (At this time I am already late for work) I then proceeded to install the battery into the vehicle and the vehicle was able to start however I was still getting several different icons lit up on my dashboard and I decided to set up an appointment with the dealer for a diagnostics check the following day, Thursday, February 18, 2021. THIS IS WHERE THE STORY GETS INTERESTING. I pull into the dealer and wait to be greeted by an associate to check me in. As I am parked in my vehicle, inside the dealership, a Honda associate by the name of Kelly decides to back into my parked vehicle with another customers car. In no way shape or form did she apologize instead a different associate of Honda’s introduced himself by the name of David and inform me that his manager will come and speak to me about the incident. There wasn’t any damage to the car that I could see so I let the issue go. Finally after waiting in my vehicle for 45 minutes I was approached by a representative named Alonzo who asked about the purpose for my visit. I explain to him the situation and he mentioned that since I went to AutoZone, Honda will not reimburse me or credit me for the amount that I pay for the battery as I should have came to the dealer instead. Also the new battery will not be covered by Honda, which I understand. However I expected to get some type of credit as they would have had to provide my vehicle with a new battery either way since it is under warranty. Essentially if I were to take the AutoZone battery out and replace it with the dead Honda Battery and take it back to the dealer they would have to replace it. However, they wouldn’t budge and pretty much said that it was my fault that I didn’t come straight to the dealer. Alonzo then mentioned that I could call the Honda corporate office to dispute the situation and when I asked him for the phone number he told me “Google it”. He then told me he wants to save me money by recommending that I don’t do the diagnostics test (they charge $100) as none of the icons are lit anymore and that the new battery should have fixed the problem. I have worked in sales and customer service all my life. I have never treated a client of mine or have ever been treated so terribly by any other establishment. I have several family members who have purchased vehicles from this particular dealership. A Honda CRV, Honda Ridgeline and Honda HRV and best believe I will never do business with Honda ever again. I was astounded as I drove out of that dealer. I recommend this place if people are looking for a complimentary bumper bump and a waste of their time. More
My 2018 Honda Accord with only 18’000 miles on it. I bought brand new from this dealership has the ‘Brake System’ and ‘Adaptive Cruise Control System’ light on, I took it to the dealer last week and the bought brand new from this dealership has the ‘Brake System’ and ‘Adaptive Cruise Control System’ light on, I took it to the dealer last week and they told me snow hit it and I have to pay$500 to get it recalibrated! This is my 2nd car so I don’t drive it often. I drove it once in the last 3 weeks. Why This car is horrible!!! Seems like every other month a sensor light is on and I’m paying out of pocket. When I expressed my frustration to the serviceman told him I was trading it. His reply was all cars have sensors. Well my 2010 Mercedes hasn’t had a sensor issue yet! Don’t buy this car don’t use this dealership don’t use this service department! They are not friendly or customer oriented! More
